This one.... what to say about this book... This book is so realistic to real life when you have a group of women together that hide things.. This was an enjoyable read!

Another enjoyable read from Emily Liebert, though I didn't find this one as compelling as her previous works. The setting/backdrop was wonderful. I thought the relationships and characters were okay but none of them wowed me.

This fell pretty flat for me. Maybe my reading tastes have changed over the years and that is why. I just wasn't a fan of the writing style. There was just so much dialog and it wasn't even good dialog. It was just unnecessary. A few years ago I may have enjoyed this book more. I will say that some may relate to this story and that is why I am giving it stars. Many like to ready books about "real life" issues and this was one.

Really enjoyable read. Good characters and a Good story. Well worth a read. Think others will. Enjoy

Another dud for me. What could have been a fun and uplifting book about female friendships, turned out to be a simplistic, predictable and quite honestly disappointing story about three selfish, self-absorbed and unsympathetic women that have no business being friends.

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group Berkley (NAL/Signet Romance) for providing a digital copy in return for an honest, unbiased review.

It always interests me to read about friendships and especially when there is an odd dynamic in a friend group. Reading about these women in the gorgeous setting of Lake George was a treat and I loved seeing how their relationships grew and changed.

On the outside, stay at home-mom Sloane's life seems just perfect life with her husband, daughter and financial security. She is not happy though and feels like something is missing from her life, altough she doesn't know exactly what.

When the chance arrives to stay at her aunt's Lake George summer house for three weeks, she jumps at the chance, but not before she invites two of her most close friends, Hilary and Georgina.Hillary is a successful woman married to a wonderful guy, the only thing missing is a child in their lives. She readily agrees to a three week, women only break with Sloane. Sloane and Georgina were college friends, Sloane has been mad at Georgina for her usual selfishness...her insensitivity when Sloane's sister dies...so Georgina invited herself on this getaway.

And during the three weeks getaway, Sloane's old boyfriend Luke walks back into her life. And maybe this is what she has been missing all the time

Later on, they reveal some scandals to each other, and it seems they all covered the cracks in their seemingly perfect lives. This is the start for more bonding between the three women, and they are there as real friends to support each other.

The book is a enjoyable light read, perfect for an after summer afternoon. I must say though that I expected more of it, as in a stronger plot. At some point it got a little lost in too much dialogue between Sloane, Hilary and Georgia, and at a few points I missed the point of the problem where they where talking about.Hillary and Georgina are opposites and Sloane did not think they would get along. But in the end, when everyone learned more about the other the bond between them has changed.

Overall I enjoyed reading it, and the author created three realistic and interesting character, but I expected more of it.

A fun, fluffy read - this is one of those books I loved in the middle of, but I struggled to remember much of it afterward. Good, solid writing and characters, but no outstanding plot.

I guess I am not a typical American middle-class woman. I never had a summer fling with an incredibly handsome and rich guy, I never got "bored" being a wife and mother, I never lied to my husband and took birth control pills while he was worrying himself to death because we couldn't get pregnant, I never just up and abandoned my child and my significant other because I could.

BUT, that is just some of the things these women do, and I am supposed to fully believe these people exist. And not only exist, but find each other and become "best friends"?

I guess this would be a good escapist beach read, but I REALLY lost patience with them all!
