The beginning of this book felt quite slow, and I struggled a bit with Sally’s approach to the investigation, which came across as a little frustrating at times. I also felt that not all of the questions were fully answered by the end. That said, I should note that I didn’t realize this was the second book in a series when I requested it, which may have impacted my reading experience. Readers who have read the first book will likely get more out of the story.

Overall an ok read.
Took me a bit to get into it. Not much happens until the murder.
After that it’s still a bit slow but better paced.
The better part of the book was more the history lesson about the places visited on the cruise.
Overall a decent read.
Don’t know if I’ll honestly read another on the Sally Witherspoon saga
Thank you NetGalley for the copy

Six months after the events in Death in the Ozarks, Sally Witherspoon is trying to put that terrible time behind her. She books a river cruise down the Mississippi to get away and relax. Unfortunately, relaxation is not to be, as she's called on to get to the bottom of a mysterious death that occurs on board. A combination of Cheers bartender and Miss Marple, Sally Witherspoon is as determined as ever to solve it! Great cozy mystery with a bite! This book had suspense, mystery, murder, hidden past secrets, intriguing, and a bit funny at times! The characters were very interesting! The storyline kept me interested also! I definitely recommend reading this book! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
