My son is a die hard soccer player and fanatic! We spent hours learning new and old soccer facts. He loved the book!

Hmmm… Clearly marketed at the only country in the world that calls the sport "soccer", this is a decent attempt at a multiple choice football quiz. The first round is about notable matches, including an English international from 1934, so you're clearly going to have to know about a lot more than a certain Liverpool success, which is asked about twice in the first 16 questions of the book alone. Mind you, the 'Hand of God' goal is asked about for a second time, in the first question of round two – and that's not for the last time, proving there is not an unlimited number of common subjects for the easy rounds.

There are other things, too – photos of stadia for us to identify, major trophies in silhouette, and a couple of other minor bonus things, but on the whole we're getting what we wanted – an all-ages friendly quiz book. There is the traditional and the celebrity world of the modern baller, a fair representation of the female version of the game, and even questions about the Costa Rican domestic scene to show its broad focus. It's really not too bad at all.

The Legendary Soccer Quizbook by Playmaker books was the perfect book for my husband and son. While my husband had more knowledge of things that happened longer ago my son was still able to participate. They both had a great time reading the book the together. It was also a bonus that the book was able to engage my son who tries hard not to read.

This is a really great way to test your soccer knowledge and have fun earning points. We played this as a family trivia game and did have fun. This is best for people who have been soccer fans for a long time because most questions are geared towards soccer over the years. My soccer-obsessed kids loved being able to jump in on some of the pop culture questions, but weren’t old enough to know majority of the book.

The Legendary Soccer Quizbook is not just for those who are beginning to love the game like me but for die hard fans as well, a book full of trivia, the why, what, when and how of the sport presented in a very intersting fashion. The quiz book begins with a chapter dedicated to Greatest matches of all times which I loved lots. There are easy questions that carry one mark each, a set of normal questions that carry 3 marks each and then hard questions that reward you with 5 marks each. There is a Did you know section in between, a bonus section at the end where you pick a favorite player, learn more about a particular stadium and identify a football trophy from its silhouette. At the end of each chapter, come the answers so that we can check where we stand in our knowledge on the topic and what's our score, the experience of reading this made informative, interesting with a competitive edge. Other favourite topics were - Legendary coaches and tactics, Golden Boot and other records. Women soccer is not left behind with a chapter of questions dedicated to it. I learnt a lot from chapters dedicated to Fans cultures and traditions, Soccer and pop culture.

For instance, sample this - which match is famously known as The Miracle of Istanbul? Which match ended in Maradona's Hand of God goal? Not just these easy questions but more difficult ones are here, making a total of about 300 in this book.
