Thank you Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book. The opinions written are completely honest and my own.
I consider myself pretty educated on the subject of animals and some of these mythes got me. Perfect for any animal trivia lover in your life

"Animal Myths & Misconceptions" is full of photos and facts. Pages are simple text and images, great for struggling readers. Fact checkings is used to underline myths. Great for introducing myths and misconceptions and sure to keep students interested. Recommended for grades 3-6.

A decent book, but also one that could have gone further. I guess they're saving up factoids for a sequel. We get a bunch of facts here about easily-recognised animals (sharks, spiders, goats), and some are addressed from the point of view of a fact-checker, to tell us that what we've already absorbed is a bit of hooey. So elephants don't have specific graveyards, but places where older ones would just sensibly be for their last days, not all sharks do need to swim constantly, and no, chameleons aren't as adept at changing colour as your Saturday morning cartoon might suggest. It's all readable, friendly and well presented visually – but like I say I might have hoped for more.

This colorful, engaging book is perfect for curious young minds—and adults who still secretly believe some of these myths! (I’ll admit, I was surprised to learn sharks don’t actually die if they stop swimming!) Kizzi Roberts and Carrie Rodell debunk over 40 common animal misconceptions with bite-sized facts, vibrant photos, and a playful layout that keeps readers flipping pages. The design—complete with arrows connecting questions to answers—makes complex info digestible for kids, while the myth-busting premise sparks great conversations about critical thinking.
This book promises to be a hit for animal-loving kids, homeschoolers, and even classrooms tackling media literacy. Perfect for ages 7–12, but honestly, I’d gift this to any trivia-obsessed friend who still insists we swallow eight spiders a year in our sleep.
Thanks to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for the ARC. Opinions are my own.

Great book about intriguing animals. Interesting science facts and info. Vibrant photos and images.
Thanks for ARC Net Galley

My mind had been well and truly blown by this book! Elephant graveyards, swallowing spiders while you sleep and sharks needing to swim constantly are all things I grew up believing. Are they true? You’ll have to read it to find out.
This is a colourful collection of facts and long-standing beliefs/myths about various creatures. Using an aesthetically appealing layout and colourful graphics, the information is delivered in bite-sized child friendly chunks.
Not only great for discussing with children, but also a good opportunity for adults to see how much they know (or think they know).

How interesting? This book is beautiful and interesting. It truly does demystify the myths about many animals! I enjoyed it and intend to pick up a copy for my science-loving nephew.
This book would be great to read to younger children & absolutely perfect for young readers & middle grade kids. Actually, it's a pretty perfect read for any age!
Thank you to netgalley & BooksGoSocial for this digital copy. Thanks for the opportunity to experience this lovely book.

I love books like this...even as an adult! It's crazy because I have 💯 heard some of these myths and misconceptions myself over the years. Until reading this book I even still held some of them as truth.
This little animal fact finder presents knowledge in small digestible chunks and breaks down some of the BIGGEST and most commonly spread animal myths and misconceptions. It also has some great illustrations.
I can't recommend this one enough for kiddos and parents alike!
I received a copy in exchange for my honest review.

My daughter loved this book. There was so much great info and honestly, I was shocked by how many animal myths I believed. I learned a lot reading it to her! The pictures were very vibrant! Great job. Thank you NetGalley for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

This is a really fun and interesting book for younger kids! It’s filled with great animal myths and misconceptions, and I loved how the facts were explained in a simple, easy-to-understand way. The photos are amazing too - you can tell a lot of time and effort went into making this book look great.
I would probably buy this for my little sister, who’s 9, if it was out right now. She loves animals and fun facts, and I know she’d really enjoy it. A perfect book for curious kids!

I really enjoyed this book! I appreciated the directive arrows. It made the book engaging. The images were cool but not distracting. I liked that the information was digestible in small chunks but not too brief and not boring. I think this would pair well with a program about misinformation or fact checking in libraries or schools, but it's also a fun read anyways. And even I, an adult, learned something new!

Interesting, informative, modern looking, and totally browsable. This book will be really appealing to young readers as information is broken down into such clear and digestible chunks.

This short but colorful and informational book brings up a few frequently asked simple question that are often misinterpretations of facts and gives us the real scoop!
Carrie Rodell has planned the layout in a most interesting way and with some real attention-getting photos.
Well suited for reading alone or WITH someone of any age, including ESL, and great for gifting to everyone, but especially to a school, waiting room, or your local public library!
I requested and received an uncorrected digital proof on PDF from BooksGoSocial via NetGalley.

Thank you netgalley for this arc.
I think this is a great book for young readers, to read themselves or to be read aloud from.
Many kids are interested in animals, and learning about them through myths is a fun book idea.
Myself as an adult learned a lot while reading.
A book I would recomend.

This is a book of facts about different animals (elephants, sharks) and insects (bees, spider, etc.) as well as answers to common questions about the animal or insect such as "Do all bees make honey?" A quick read for kids who want to learn more about animals and insects. It has nice pictures.
I rated it low because my copy has formatting issues. The font went from bold to light and the text was out of order at times making it difficult to read. (Unless they do ask 3 questions and then answer them in random order.)
I received this book for free from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Very interesting facts although it seemed like some may have been missing. I really liked the layout and the lines drawing two sections together, it made the pages feel more eye catching and fun.
I also liked the animal pictures, of course!
