loved this latest story in the Phyllida Bright mysteries. Phyllida attends a dinner party, and a guest suggests playing the game "two truths and a lie". her statements were so outrageous that the guests left shortly after. The next day, her sister was dead. Phyllida investigates, only to find out there looks to be more than one murder connected together. Can she solve the mystery before the killer strikes again?

I'm always happy to read another mystery solved by Phyllida Bright. In this pleasant cozy, the red herrings were easy enough for me to discount, but it still took me awhile to actually figure out the murderer. I also rolled my eyes several times as for a woman who is so adept at solving mysteries, Phyllida seems to too easily put herself into danger. Still, the predictability didn't keep me from racing through this as a fun weekend read.

A wonderful read!
This novel drew me in from the very first page and kept me hooked until the end. The characters were vibrant and relatable, the writing was engaging, and the story had just the right balance of heart and humor. Highly recommend!
Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

Deliciously Diabolical Once Again....
Another deliciously diabolical plot in the fifth in this joyous series featuring the eminently capable Phyllida Bright, sometime amateur sleuth and the housekeeper at Mallowan Hall home to, none other than the Queen of Mystery herself, Agatha Christie and her household. Phyllida has now become a far reaching and well known sleuth in her own right and is certainly in demand. Invited to a dinner party in order to observe the hostess’s husband for signs of infidelity, she is dismayed when she ends up seeking a killer. It is remarkably easy to slip into Phyllida’s atmospheric world and, here, the reader delves into a well crafted whodunit with a wholly entertaining plot populated with a well drawn, colourful and eccentric cast of supporting characters and relayed with both elegance and wit. It is so enjoyable that the reader will not want to leave and will eagerly be awaiting the next in the series. Christie fans will continue to be utterly charmed.
