If you want to understand church time through the use of church seasons and feasts, this is a book I would highly recommend. I have always been drawn to this type of living and learning. Our family has always participated in the seasons of Lent, Easter, Advent, and Christmas. I find those time it helps me to stay more devoted and in tune with God. Why not make it year around time!? Rhythms of Faith by Claude Atcho shares what he has learned and why we too may find this type of living helpful in our worship and honoring of God.

While I have read similar books like this, he offers a deeper understanding and great suggestions on how to practice living the church year.

Some of my highlights:

God uses time to draw us deeper into life with Him.

As we keep sacred time – spending our days, personally and corporately, rooted in the cycle of His life – the church year guides us…

The church year is a call to live out he higher time of the kingdom in our so-called ordinary lives.

At a certain point, all of us must ask who time we wish to live by – Caesar’s or Christ’s.

This book starts with Advent and then goes through the year, through the different church seasons and festivals. Explaining each one, offering up Scripture to read, and suggestions to practice.

One thing to note, for me this book would be much better to have a hard copy of, so you can flag and make the book easier to use, verses using it on a kindle.
