A fascinating and well-written account of the author's work as an EMT, both hopeful and heartbreaking. I'm actually not sure what else to say, I've known EMTs and some of it was what I expected, and some of it was a surprise. The author's story of her personal journey to and through her career was unique, as I suspect all such stories are. Honestly I think everyone should give this book a read, especially anybody in politics, there is so much more going on here than simply ferrying people to hospitals.

The book provided a great behind the scenes look at ambulance service. It helped explain a few things, but mainly it brought out the problems that still persist with medical care. The book could have benefited from a bit of editing. Some parts may have been due to the e-version formatting. The story did not flow as smoothly as it could have. It is still an enjoyable book and we'll worth reading.

I really like the cover of this book. It instantly drew my attention. My uncle was a paramedic and I always loved hearing stories from him. I knew how hard his job was and the stress he went through, but loved when he was able to help people. When I saw this was a memoir, I knew I had to read this. I could tell The author poured her heart into this book. I really think anyone interested in the field or is curious should read this. Well done Joanna Sokol.
