This book was cute and super easy to read, I really loved the mmc and fmc together definitely recommend

This cozy small-town romance ended up being more thoughtful than I expected. I really appreciate that it tackled difficult topics like grief, infertility, and mental health with care. The grumpy-sunshine dynamic was done really well too. That said, I couldn’t quite connect with Marnie and Grady’s relationship. It just didn’t hit as hard as I hoped, and Marnie herself didn’t always come off as believable. I honestly think she was too understanding at times, to the point where her reactions seemed a bit unrealistic. But even with that, the found family element really stood out and added a lot of heart to the story. Overall, it’s an enjoyable read.

I went into this book completely blind, and wow, it gripped my emotions from the very first page. Jessica Sherry masterfully transforms tragedy into a beautiful, tender, and tear-jerking love story. Every Chance After is a slow burn, and rightfully so. Anything faster would have done a disservice to the depth and care woven into every chapter, even if I found myself impatient for all those warm, gooey feelings.

When Tripp’s reckless mistake shatters Marnie’s future, he steps up in the way others should have. Together, they guide one another through grief, healing, and rediscovering what family can be. The story hit especially close to home for me, given my partner's own accident, and I found so much of their journey deeply relatable. It was a healing read that soothed pieces of my own heart too.

Sherry doesn't shy away from weighty topics such as child loss, fertility issues, guilt, and the complex reality that not all families look the same. This is a poignant tale of found family, friends to lovers, and the strength of community. It also includes an age gap romance and thoughtfully crafted LGBTQ+, neurodiverse, and mental health representation, all handled with love, compassion, and nuance.

You can’t help but fall for the side characters, each adding richness and warmth to the narrative. I genuinely hope this becomes a series because I would love to spend more time in this world.

This book deserves your time, and maybe a box of tissues.

I really enjoyed this book! It had me smiling and feeling warm and fuzzy. However, it did feel a little long at times even if the plot line was well written and no gaps in the story were left.

(Marnies mom left her at 15, right? And they hadn't seen each-other in 7 years? But Marnie turned 25 on the day of the accident? That makes it 10 years? Or did I misunderstand?)

EVERY CHANCE AFTER is a love story found in an unusual and emotional set of circumstances. After causing and accident that will forever change Marnie's life, Grady frequently and consistently visits Marnie because his guilt wouldn't allow him to do otherwise. It is through these visits, a connection is forming and memories are being made. But will their own issues get in their way of finding love? If you like a slow burn, grumpy/sunshine romance with an emotional plot, this book is for you.

QOTD: Which trope pulls you in every time?

This story completely stole my heart. It’s a solid slow burn,with true grumpy x sunshine energy, and every single character leaves their mark. They were charming, memorable, and so beautifully written.

What really stood out to me was how the author tackled heavy topics like loss, neglect, and grief, while still keeping the story sweet, hopeful, and full of that irresistible small-town charm. It’s the kind of story that sticks with you because the people in it could walk right off the page.

This isn’t just a romance, it’s a story about healing, self-forgiveness, and redefining family. Marnie and Grady’s connection was messy, complicated, and absolutely beautiful. The push and pull between them, the emotional depth, it all just worked.

One thing I appreciated deeply was the honest, gentle way the book explored childlessness, whether by choice or circumstance. As someone navigating similar feelings, it made me feel seen, and I really wish more stories offered this kind of representation.

The family dynamics here are rich and imperfect: sometimes messy, but always full of love. I especially loved the reminder that we can’t carry everyone’s emotional weight, and we don’t have to always hold our own perfectly either.

I love a good small-town romance as much as the next reader, and serious topics/content warnings are no dealbreakers. But this just didn’t work for me.

The pros: A solid slow burn, an interesting setup, and true grumpy x sunshine vibes.
The cons: Somehow also instalove (how?), should have been 100 pages shorter, unrealistic characters.

This is my first Jessica Sherry book, so perhaps they’re just not my cup of tea. But maybe this will be yours? Thank you to the author + netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

It was such a beautiful story. These 2 met the way they did but at the same time found a purpose to continue in each other's lives, it was something to witness. From the meeting on the day she was going to get married, to him visiting and helping her, to their lives being intertwined after this. I love it all! It was a really good read. Characters, story, and all♥︎

I enjoyed this book! The setting was unique and beautiful, and the whole cast of characters were memorable and charming!

I did feel like the pacing was a bit off, especially towards the end with Marnie (Marina?) and Grady’s relationship. I also had a hard time relating to Marnie’s intense and almost forced positivity.

Overall, I thought the author did a really good job handling such deep topics (loss, neglect, grief) while still keeping the story overall sweet and hopeful.

But what made me stay with him was how deeply he wanted to make things right. Even when he didn’t think he deserved forgiveness, love, or a second chance. His growth was slow and sometimes frustrating, but that made it feel honest.

This isn’t just a romance—it’s about healing, redefining what family means, and learning to forgive yourself. Marnie and Grady’s connection is complicated and beautiful, full of push and pull, and I loved the emotional depth they both brought to the story.

Love me a grumpy/sunshine, friends to lovers tropes book. The FMC was a little overly positive for my liking though. I also couldn't believer how fast she forgave. It made the book seem too unrealistic for me. Overall I did enjoy the book and would recommend it.

This pairing was unmatched! I am a sucker for grumpy meets sunshine and she was everything I wanted her to be and more! when you go through something as traumatic as what she went through, her actions and thoughts were normal. I felt so disappoint in her ex because she would of been there for him but she finds the one who can give her what she has always wanted... a family to call her own.

It took me a moment to get into the book because I felt there was too much exposition in the beginning but once the story started flowing I couldn’t put the book down.

Jessica did a fantastic job with all the characters in the novel. Yes, it was Marina and Grady’s love story but I also got attached to Wade and Christie and Roy. She especially did fantastic with Cora because I hated her with a passion.

I loved the representation of Marigold and how Grady understood and helped his sister through situations she was uncomfortable with.

Grady is my new book boyfriend because I yearn for someone to be so protective of me as he is with Marina.

I’ve been going through a rough time, not being my usual sparkling self. Reading this sunshine trope, I felt Marina’s pain yet she still managed to smile and make everyone around her happy. It made me want to be better and be the light that brightens someone’s day.

What I appreciated the most about this novel was that the topic of not wanting/can’t have kids came up. It made me feel less alone in my own choices and I wished there were more books like this that represent people who don’t want to/can’t have kids.

This is my first Jessica Sherry novel and I absolutely loved it!

This is my first book from this author and I can TOTALLY said it won't be my last one.
The plot, the characters, the writing.. I really like this book so much.
This book is so emotional, and deep. I love how reliable and true this book is. And how I got so hooked and immerse when I was reading this book.


This book is about Marnie & Grady, who had their not so cute meet during an accident. Since that day, Marnie's life change completely. Grady couldn't help to feel guilty about everything that happened to Marnie, and all of what she had to go thru because of the accident.


There is this Grumphy MMC, a Sunshine FMC, and some hilarious characters: Wade, Roy, Christie, Wren, Marigold that you will fall in love with them.
Marnie is such an amazing FMC, Grady became this Grumphy with a great heart.The connection between these two was everything, and they have this great and honest bond... "truly".
The characters are very reliable, you will find neurodivergent, LGBTQ+ characters.
Each characters have their own baggage, and you can see how they little by little surpass their past and heal.
I can't recommend enough this book.

this book made me feel every single human emotion in the span of two days. debilitating hurt, intense anger and frustration, and overwhelming tenderness and adoration. the story this book tells is real and raw. it’s strong and full of love of all kinds, familial, platonic, and romantic. that’s something jessica sherry does that i absolutely adore. she does not skimp on connection between all of these characters, characters who have all loved and lost so significantly.

i have no less than 20+ highlights in this book because jessica’s writing is so FULL without being cluttered or dense. i’m going to include some of my favorites below:

“He’s handsome, in a rough and rugged way, like he was once a kid who climbed trees rather than played video games.”

“Worry creases his forehead, but small starbursts around his eyes tell me he’s no stranger to laughter.”

“She has sunset hair-I decided.”

“I want to be one of her freckles, forever attached.”

I cannot say enough good things about this book and the tender narrative Jessica created. I will DEFINITELY be buying a signed paperback to have as a trophy on my bookshelves.

Let me just say that this book came out strong in the beginning and had me hooked. You got your broody, "shadowman"(thanks to Marigold for the nickname), hard shelled Grady Tripp whose just existing or trying to exist. Then one day, he makes a mistake that brings our happy-go-lucky, second chance giving FMC Marina Strange straight into his life. I wont say how their lives collide(literally) but both of their lives are taken a bit off course or more like put on the right course to each other. Both Grady's and Marina's back stories were explained beautifully. I loved how the Marina gained confidence in herself and stood up for herself especially against her so-called "family" Cora and Ashe. They can literally kick rocks. I typically yearn for more confrontation when it comes to our main characters being wronged by side characters but the way the author wrote it was perfect. Also, with Marnie's mom making an appearance later, how Grady reacted is exactly how I would react. Reading about how Marnie was willing to give her mother a second chance and believe that she can change, absolutely beautiful. Also, can we talk about the spice?! Girrrrrrrrrl! I want me a broody shadowman like Grady lol!!! Thank you, Jessica Sherry for writing such a wonderful book! I can't wait to read the rest of your work!
