From the very first chapter, I was hooked to this story. Marnie and Grady are brought together by tragedy, but through openness and vulnerability, they show that something beautiful can grow even in the most difficult moments. Marnie is the definition of sunshine because even through the darkest times, she manages to stay strong, positive and even kind to the people who treated her poorly. Grady is a grump but around Marnie, he’s soft and so sweet. He wanted to take care of her out of guilt, but over time their connection deepens into something genuine and their relationship developed slowly and beautiful. The small-town setting and found family elements add an extra layer of warmth and seeing everyone come together in the epilogue as one big family felt like the perfect ending.

Jessica Sherry has written a heartfelt and emotional romance that balances heavier themes with moments of sweetness and humor. Please check the trigger warnings before reading, as the story does deal with sensitive topics.

In this small town, contemporary romance, you're hooked from the very first page where Marnie and Grady's "not-so-cute" meet cute is a life-altering car accident. While the story had it's more intense moments, there is warmth, depth and sweetness in every chapter. I also loved all the side characters and they really helped bring this story to life!

I love the grumpy/sunshine trope and in this case, Grady is the typical grumpy but protective man, while Marnie is sunshine and despite all she has been through she is still so passionate about everything and even life itself! (although sometimes I felt it was a little unrealistic).

They both have trauma that they think they can handle and manage on their own (it did get a little trauma-bondy) but it's was very sweet how they relied on each other to get through it!

The connection and growth between Marnie and Grady is unmatched. This was such a beautiful, emotional, and heartwarming story.

An emotional read, the story of Grady and Marnie. After he causes an accident that changes her life forever, can be help her move forward. She was much better off with out her weak willed ex!

The story had everything I love: found family, a small-town setting, grumpy/sunshine dynamic, and a great work project. It’s definitely going on my favorites shelf! The ending melted my heart, it was perfect!

First of all: this is the first book I got approved for on NetGalley – thank you for the opportunity! It was such a lovely read.

Marina and Grady were perfect main characters. Where she radiated sunshine and smiles, Grady was grumpy, guarded, and distant. But around each other, something shifted. Grady began to open up, sharing past losses and starting to heal. Marnie realized she had someone she could fall apart with—someone who’d catch her. Even her life's mantra—no frowns, no fears, no tears (and no Grady xD)—started to feel shaky.

Their connection formed under intense circumstances. I’ve rarely read a book that was so nerve-wracking in the first few pages. But it laid the foundation for a deep and lasting bond—something Marnie’s fiancé Ashe couldn’t offer. The Sullivans were awful in general. Ashe’s biggest flaw was his passivity, letting himself be pushed around. Cora, on the other hand, was simply spiteful and obsessed with appearances. So I loved it when Grady and Marnie started finding their footing and became a threat to Sunny’s control.

The setting in Seagrove was another highlight. I’m a huge fan of vivid nature descriptions, and the swamps completely captivated me. Thinking of Bessie and her offspring, the herons, and those gorgeous sunsets—it felt magical. I loved every single one of those passages.

And I can’t end this without mentioning Marigold. I adored her. I related to her struggles in social situations and loved how the people around her accommodated her needs—like Grady going with her to the library, or her reconciliation with Peter.

All the side characters were wonderfully done. Christie with his expressive style, Wade working through grief, Roy being a bit inappropriate but well-meaning. Such a refreshingly diverse and layered cast—they added real heart to the story.

This book is a really cute light read. It defiantly starts of with a bang with a so meet-cute that starts the series of events. I really enjoyed this unique meeting and it stands out I comparison to many other novels with similar openings. The characters have depth and I can definitely see this book turning into a small town romance series.

From the moment Marnie and Grady met, I knew they would make a fantastic couple and I wasn’t disappointed.
After one awful day changes the course of Marnie’s life dramatically, Grady vows to make it up to her and give her everything she lost back. This will they won’t they love story will keep you interested from beginning to end and leave you wanting more.
I absolutely loved the main characters. They were both likeable and had their own battles to face throughout the book.

This was a lovely story about trauma, grief, and how something good can come from that.

I appreciated the way the author handled the relationship development in the wake of a traumatic event. There was enough time and healing that occurs before anything romantic happens between the characters.

These characters really complimented each other and brought out the best in each other.

I would have like more of a confrontation between the FMC and some of the characters who treated her poorly. Some were touched on but I would have like to see a little more.

Do you know that really special feeling? When you start a new book and just a few pages in you know that this is going to be a good one? Every Chance After handles difficult subject matters throughout the book. It is not a one and done and then we can move on to just the fun parts. However, these more uncomfortable topics are handled so well that I kept wanting to go back into their world (yes, it was a short night^^).

Both our main characters come with their own trauma, their own faults, but they keep finding each other. The way that even in the few moments that they frustrated me, I still understood them, just shows Jessica's skills as an author. They definitely still have room to grow: For example, it would have been nice to see Grady more actively tackle the unfair expectations of the people around him. And could Marnie work on maybe not forgiving so easily? Probably, but that could also just be me, who knows.
And the side characters! What a beautiful and organic way to showcase all kinds of different people with their own stories forming their own found family.

Honestly, despite the attempt you just read, I have a hard time describing how this book made me feel. There were gasps, giggles, the occasional almost-tear, but in the end, I think Jessica did it best with the subtle playlist she provided throughout the book. I have been playing one of the last mentions - Norah Jones' Come Away With Me - on repeat for the last 2 hours and it encapsulates the perfect "this was somehow profound but also gives me all the warm and cozy feelings" vibe I had all the way through. Like seriously, how do you manage that when starting off your story with a near death experience of all things?

And with one single book, Jessica Sherry has become an insta-buy :)

There’s tension, vulnerability, and some really touching moments that hit just right. Marnie’s strength and hopefulness are such a beautiful contrast to Grady’s broody, guarded vibe and somehow, they just work.

I really appreciated how the story balanced romance with personal growth, forgiveness, and finding new definitions of love and family. Plus, the small town setting adds that cozy, comforting layer without feeling overly sweet.

So nice to read something from a new author.
This book was heartbreakingly beautiful. The beginning of the book really throws you into the action and allows you to feel like you’re really in the moment with the characters. Marina is the kindest; most forgiving person even at her own detriment. Grady is a grump for all intents and purposes but he helps Marina be truthful to herself and live for herself and in return she helps him relax and be more open to those around him. This is a story of second chances mostly for those around the main characters but for them as well. It reminded me to be gentle with myself and be firm with myself and those around you when necessary.

I have to say, when I cried the first few pages, given how hard the topic and the situation was, I wanted to close this book and not open it again. This story is so moving - Marnie is longing for family and a sense of belonging, Grady is fed up with his life. One car ride and everything is different. Their paths cross under horrible circumstances and we go on from there.

The story progressed and it turned out to be a very beautiful, second-chance-in-life type of romance, where both characters had their reasons and managed to overcome the difficult and, quite frankly, life-altering situation. I loved the found family aspect and tenderness of this book and also the character development and strenght they found in each other. Marnie and Grady were perfect for each other - her warmth counteracted his shadows and gave him life. Although I did not understand their actions sometimes, I very much enjoyed this read and would pick up this author again!

Well, it was very full on from the very beginning.

Poor Marnie really struggled throughout this book. From thinking she was finally going to have it all, to then having nothing. Or so she thought.

Tripp Grady Tripp. Did he cause the accident? Yes. Did he spend all of his time trying to make things right? Also yes.

I loved Grady and Marnie together. They gelled really well and brought out different sides of each other.

Of course there was a lot of ‘will they, won’t they’ and some miscommunication, but that makes for a great story.

I adored all of the side characters.
Especially the G&G crew! And of course, Marigold.

Thank you NetGalley for an ARC of Every Chance After! I was immediately hooked from chapter 1. I felt like I knew each character, and their personality after just a couple chapters. I quickly had 2 characters I couldn’t stand, and every time they spoke I rolled my eyes in disgust.

Marnie grew from page 1 to the end. Watching her graceful attitude through tough times really made me smile and root for her. I loved the relationship that was built from the start with her and Grady. The back and forth banter made me laugh.

If you want a slow, slow, SLOW burn this is your book! I recommend this amazing book to all who love romance. You will not be disappointed. 4.5⭐️

This book started with a terrible tragedy. The story unfolded about the people in Marnie’s life and how they reacted to this life changing event. I feel like the storyline between Marnie and her fiancé should have been more developed. I was left with so many questions. I couldn’t imagine Marnie, a strong woman who was so independent, not confronting him face to face. That was a huge miss for me. Her story has a nice ending. I was happy to see Marnie found her for better or worse!

I’d rate 4.5/ taking away half of a star for how unbelievable Ashe and Cora are. What a reality show.

This novel surprised me in a good way! I wouldn’t have believed that Marina and Grady could truly develop feeling for each other based on their first meeting, but I was pleased with the evolution of their relationship.

The grubby guys at the convenience store still gave me the creeps but since they had good intentions I looked beyond the feeling of ick they gave me.

Some heavy themes in this book, be prepared!

I absolutely loved Every Chance After! From the very first page, it pulled me in by diving straight into the drama and it never let go. I really appreciated that approach; sometimes the slow build-up at the beginning of a book can be hard to get through, but that wasn’t an issue here at all.

Marnie was such a sweetheart! She was incredibly tough on herself, but it was clear she felt she had to be after spending so much time on her own. Rather than letting hardship make her bitter, she chose to be her own sunshine. She was hopeful, constantly refusing to let the bad drag her down or dwell on it, even though life had been anything but fair. She was the perfect match for Grady, who honestly made me want to shake him at times! I was frustrated with him early on but I did come to understand him more as the story progressed. Still, I kept hoping he’d finally start stepping up for himself and allow inner healing instead of hiding.

They both had gone through , and were going through, real life challenges but I loved that they were able to meet each other where they were and move forward. This story tackled some heavy topics but I honestly felt everything was handled very well. I’d recommend checking CW for more sensitive readers.

Overall, I really enjoyed this read and would wholeheartedly recommend it!
