This was just what I needed to satisfy my Scottish historical romance craving!
Isolde has been betrothed to William Campbell for the last 10 years but neither one has shown any inclination that they wish to wed a stranger. Isolde is a daughter of the Isle of Sgur and like her foremothers she has a connection to the land, so she doesn't think she's supposed to leave it. But her grandmother, the mistress of Sgur, secured this alliance with the Campbells years ago for Isolde's safety or so she's always told her. When a stranger washes up on the beach, Isolde feels an instant connection to him but he has no recollection of who he is. And while she's falling for him she can't help but spurn the thought of William Campbell.
This was my first Christina Phillips book and probably won't be my last. The story was fun and intriguing but a few holes were left in the story. Why is Isolde in danger if she stays on her isle? What's with the magic she holds that connects her to the land? I wish these issues were explored a bit more but maybe they will be answered later as this seems to be a series. This was also an insta-love situation but I didn't mind it too much. I did love how much William was head over heels for Isolde and couldn't imagine being without her. He respected her skills and her freedom but still wanted to keep her safe. Their love was spicy and entertaining, though during some of the miscommunication I wanted to strangle William lol.
Overall a quick satisfying read if you love the historical romance genre. I will most likely continue this series and I have hopes of everything being fleshed out and I would love to get more of her sisters' stories. Thank you so much to Dragonblade Publishing for gifting me this eARC in exchange for an honest review!

From the first page to the last you will entralled by Beguiled by the Highlander. Christina Phillips stories are always interesting with characters with diversity of personalities who manage to grow and yet retain their individualities which captivates you from the beginning until the very end. It's emotional ride with many twists that keeps you turning the pages, action-packed, steamy passion, betrayal with and a unknown spy who is a danger to Creagdoun Castle that will keep you reading until the end.

Fate, Betrayal, Bewitched, Highland Romance Mystery:
Wow, what an interesting action-packed way to start a new series.
Excellent intriguing characters that pulled at my heartstrings through the entire story.
The way they meet is quite unexpected but thankfully due to the curious little dog Sjor barking erratically they discover a wounded William who has no memory of who he is. Isolde is not sure if that is a ruse, but she will soon find out.
Isolde who for 10 years has been betrothed to wed William Campbell whether she wants to or not.
This exciting story is on the predicable side but following William and Isolde is worth the ride.
A story filled with strong emotion's, sizzling passions, many surprises, and a very rewarding ending.
Mature Advisory:3/5

Isolde and William are a perfect match.
Washington up on a shore with no memory to fighting the bad guy, it’s a fantastic first book in a new series!

Their love was labeled as forbidden, yet destiny had other plans. She became enchanted by a mysterious figure from the sea, only for him to break her heart. Isolde MacDonald is clear about her intentions, and marrying the arrogant Highlander, William Campbell—who will stop at nothing to claim her land—is certainly not part of her plan. Proud of her heritage, she feels a deep connection to her cherished isle through an ancient prophecy passed down from her foremothers, convinced that no Campbell could ever understand her bond with her land or her passion for her sword. She believes she doesn't need a man to complete her life—until a nameless stranger washes ashore and captures her heart. He may not remember his own identity, but he is determined to win her affection. After being attacked on his ship and thrown overboard during a storm, he awakens with no memory of his past. Yet, one thing is clear to him: the stunning Isolde MacDonald, with her fierce independence and swordsmanship, is the only woman he desires. However, when his memories resurface, the reality threatens to tear them apart. To win her love, he must uncover the truth. But the stakes are higher than just an ancient prophecy, and if they fail to move past their history, they risk losing everything. Overall, I found this to be a delightful read! As a fan of historical romances, this book truly fulfilled my desires!
