This audiobook just had two many points of view for me to keep up with. I would definitely be interested in doing a reread, but to listen to this, it was just confusing. The narrators were not bad, but the voices for all the characters just sounded the same to me. I wanted to love this story as much as I loved the first, but the audio just didn't do it for me this time.

This book includes some of my favorite elements—forced proximity, witty banter, and elemental magic—but they didn’t always land as expected. While the narrators did a solid job, having only two voice actors for so many POVs made it difficult at times to differentiate between characters.
The story is definitely character-driven rather than plot-focused. It took quite a while for key quests to move forward, which, combined with a large cast, made it hard to feel emotionally invested in everyone. That said, I’m hopeful that Book 3 will
bring everything together and deliver a satisfying conclusion. It wasn’t my favorite in the series, but it wasn’t bad either.

Rating: 5/5
I received the audio for my honest opinion.
This book was amazing and when I saw that there would be an audio for it, I jumped over to NetGalley so I could have a chance to read it. OMG, it was amazing. I thought the narrators did a fantastic job with bringing the characters and the plot to life. I am so happy that we got a dual POV with different narrators because it really helped me to connect to the characters more and their emotions with their help more.
You know when you love the first book so much, then you pick up the second book and you’re like…… OMG, I LOVED THIS BOOK MORE. Well, that is what happened to me, I loved that we got to see a few more answers to the questions in book one, but you will be left with new questions but in a great way. I loved the enemies to lovers that were extended in this book with new love interests from side characters. You will find forced proximity, great banter, elemental magic and a fun magical system as well. I loved the hidden identities and the plot twist and after plot twist, it made it fun trying to piece it all together. I found book two has a different feeling to it and I think it’s because it’s book two but at the same time feels like a whole new book (if that makes any sense).
You will see that there are new characters added in and other side characters that are brought forth more in this book. I liked that each character had their own side plot going on with the main plot of the book and this author knows how to show you all that without it taking away from the story. I found the characters to be even more likable and relatable in this book, and I loved that we got to see friendships blossom and other ones become stronger. I found out that I really didn’t hate a character that I did in book one, and it was really great getting to see all the characters' different POVs because I think that helped me to see that one of the “bad guys” isn’t really a bad guy at all. I loved getting to see more of the characters' development in this book and to see that they’re all family, even though they might not be by blood or marriage, but they all have a stake in wanting better for their people. Seeing all the adventures with the characters to the new lands and discovering what new curses are brought forth and who is responsible for all the destruction in the kingdom.
I need book three soon because I have to get all the answers to what really happened and how the characters will handle what is next for them.
I want to thank the author for the opportunity to review this book.

on the audio: the two narrators, E.M. Wylde and Caitlin Kelly, did amazing performances for the material they have. i was so pumped when i saw both narrators for this sequel following the jaw dropping ending to A Cursed Son but was disappointed by the huge leap in perspectives we got! for the amount of perspectives we get, i don't know if just two narrators was the right choice. i figured two narrators for two characters, Astar and Marlak, the narrators can't differentiate well enough for Astra, Tarlia, Lidiane, Marlak, Renel, Azur, Ziven, and every side character ever....it's too much (keep in mind that the first book was just Astar's perspective...) again, the narrators did good with what they could but this would've benefited with even just two more narrators. i found myself often lost with who was who, who was with who, what who was even doing!
on the book: despite the too many perspectives introduced out of nowhere, this is still a pleasant read (recommend tandem reading this one). we get to see the wider expanse of Marlak and Astra on the journey into the wider world with friends galore! there is charm to these characters and i was pleased to see more friendships (but tbh mostly relationships because everyone has to couple up lol). because we're cramming sooo many characters this book is pretty long for quests that don't move quickly so you really gotta enjoy the character interactions. this is an easy story to pay attention to one moment then drift your thoughts away but come back and you've missed nothing. this review feels negative but it was an enjoyable read i just think there should've been less povs for the second book to ease us into this change and have book three with more povs you know.
my least favorite part of this book is probably the spice, which is very personal preference, but they're not as common in this sequel so i wasn't as bothered by them but the writing style of the smut scenes aren't my favorite. (2/5 spicy peppers)

The plot twists were insane in this sequel. I am blown away by this series so far and need more asap. The narrators did a fantastic job - I always felt as of I was right in the scenes and was holding my breath with suspense at times. I love the side characters that feel so much like main characters. My favorites are Azur and Tarlia.

Thank you Netgalley, Day Leitao, and Dreamscape audio for ALC!
I read this book a few months ago before I received the audiobook ALC. I loved the continuation of this series. The narrators did a fantastic job bringing the story to life.
I definitely enjoyed the first installment of this series more. I was a bit surprised to see how many povs were added, and I was really hoping to find out more about Marlak and Astra. They almost seemed like side characters in this book. I believe this is intentional to set up the final book in the series but I wish the writing style matched more between the first two books. I still loved the story, it was just a bit difficult to get into the new style.
I can't wait to see how everything comes together in the end and who will end up surviving! The stakes are going to be incredible high in the series finale!

This book was a lot of fun to listen to and never had a dull moment. There were many POVs, so the story did bounce around a lot, especially at the end. There are some heart wrenching moments towards the end of the book but nothing that made me cry. I wish there was a recap of book 1 because I don’t remember much of it and it took me a few chapters to get the sense of where book 1 left off.
I really enjoyed the narrators. Since this isn’t a duet style narration, the final narrator had to do a male voice during the male correspondence parts, and I feel like she did a really good job, and it wasn’t to feminine or cringy. The male narrator was able to create several distinct male voices that I had to double check if there was more than one male narrator.
Overall I enjoyed this book, but it’s not a five star read for me. There wasn’t anything that grabbed my attention to where I found myself saying “I could read this again”.

OK. Seriously?? This is twice in a row now!!
How could you send me reeling through this ENTIRE BOOK…. all 18+ hours of it… to once again… leave me hanging …. At the end???!!! 😫😫😫
Not fair! Not fair at all!
So, in case you didn’t pick up on this, this is book #2 in the series.
Astra and Marlak are back… and with a vengeance. Just when you think you might be able to take a deep breath… nope! The rug is pulled right out from under you!
Although this is written as a young adult novel, I loved both books thus far… (and I’m far from young…)
We have new atrocities awaiting us in this book… one being the knowledge that Marlak’s sister might still be alive! And if she is, can he find her? And save her?
And what about his creepy brother trying to be king? And the lengths he’ll go to in order to get his wish?
And then we have: Lidiane. Tarlia. Renel and... Azur. And what are we going to do with them??
I’m going to STOP 🛑🛑 right here 🛑🛑 as I don’t want to give anything away!
If you like Fae Kingdoms. Magicks. Love interests. Good against evil. Fantasy worlds. Awe inspiring dreams. Magical Realism… and so much more, this one is not to be missed!
#ATraitorSister (Remnants of the Fallen Kingdom #2) by #DayLeitao and narrated nicely by #CaitlinKelly and #EMWylde.
4 big, bright, magical winking 🌟🌟🌟🌟 for me!

I received an ALC of A Traitor Sister by Day Leitao from NetGalley and Dreamscape in exchange for an honest review.
This sequel builds beautifully on the foundation of A Cursed Son. Where book one introduced the world and tension, book two dives deeper into emotional layers, political danger, and magical power struggles — all while keeping the romance burning beneath the surface.
Astra’s character development is one of my favorite aspects. She’s no longer just surviving her dark power — she’s stepping into it, owning it, and starting to make difficult choices that feel both bold and heartbreaking. The fae prince continues to be guarded, but we see cracks forming, moments of vulnerability and trust that feel so earned after all that’s happened.
The audiobook narration was a true highlight. Caitlin Kelly returns as Astra, which provided a great sense of continuity from book one. EMWlyde joins as the fae prince, and their dual narration added depth and nuance to the shifting POVs. Their performances brought emotional weight and subtle tension that really enhanced my experience.
There’s betrayal, court intrigue, secret identities, and a cliffhanger that left me immediately wishing for book three. The pacing was strong, the stakes were higher, and the world-building remains rich and compelling.
If you’re into romantasy with morally grey characters, slow burn enemies to lovers, and fae court drama, this series is absolutely worth diving into.

This was a good sequel it was a good fantasy with light romance no spice it was packed full of adventure and magic

Magic castles that move, dream realms that seduce, and a heroine with purple hair. What more could you want?
A Traitor Son is a deliciously addictive romantasy filled with fae drama, elemental magic, and a world that pulls you in from page one. Think ACOTAR meets Throne of Glass with a fast-paced plot, layered side quests, and a few unexpected relationships that have me very excited for book 3.
The audiobook was a standout too. Multi-POV with different voices is doing it right!! Each voice added a new layer to the story, and the world-building never felt overwhelming despite the action-packed pace. Day Leitao strikes a perfect balance: thrilling and twisty without skimping on emotion or detail.
Favorite quote: “Loving you is like breathing. I’ve always done it.”
Tropes:
- enemies-to-lovers
- forced marriage/marriage of convenience
- Elemental magic
- Fae courts
- steamy dreams
- found family vibes
- quests

If you read A Cursed Son then you’re going to love A Traitor Sister. This book introduces a lot more POVs than the first, and listening to the audio made it to where I was a little lost as to who’s POV it was at the time but it was very easy to figure out after a few sentences. It also helped that this audiobook had a duet rather than one person.
A couple of relationships I didn’t expect developed in this book and I’m excited to see where they lead in book 3. I’m very interested in Renel’s character as well, as I feel like we have so much more to learn about him. Oh and that ending?!? A banger of a cliffhanger!

Addictive, thrilling, interesting, love story and a good plot, what more can I ask for in a book?
I loved book 1 so much I have to admit I was worried the 2nd wouldn’t quite live up to it but I thoroughly enjoyed this book and with that ending I can’t wait for the next!
It’s not my favourite thing to have so many pov’s but I know that’s not everyone’s taste and it didn’t take away from the book.
Loved the narrators, they did a fantastic job
Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC

I was lucky enough to get this book as both an ebook ARC from Day Leitao and the Audiobook from NetGalley. I really enjoy Day’s books and this is no exception. As we can see since I’ve read it twice this year.
A Traitor Sister by Day Leitao offers an engrossing blend of family intrigue and mystery that earns a solid 4 stars. The novel shines in its portrayal of complex relationships, especially through its compelling side characters whose internal conflicts drive much of the narrative. One of the most memorable moments is the discovery of Lidiane's secret letters and Azur's hidden moral compass. As well as Marlak and Renel's memories, which serve as tangible links to a turbulent past and reveal the depth of betrayal within the family.
Leitao's attention to detail—whether it’s the atmospheric descriptions of the past family history or the secretive meetings held in shadowy corridors—imbues the story with a rich sense of place and time. The intricate plotting keeps readers guessing, even as some narrative threads occasionally feel like they could benefit from further exploration.
Overall, A Traitor Sister is both thought-provoking and engaging, blending historical elements with personal drama in a way that makes the unfolding mysteries hard to put down. It's a commendable read that, while not perfect, offers plenty of rewarding surprises along the way.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Delicious romantasy with magic, fae and intriging world building!
Fastpaced and action-packed, but without the lack of details.
Multi pov and worked very well as an audiobook.
And OMG I'm definitely going to read the third one ;)

“Loving you is like breathing. I’ve always done it.”

She is a fake princess who is smart with poisons. And He is a fae prince who can read thoughts. This is the making of a very interesting story if you ask me!
This is book two in the series Remnants of the Fallen Kingdom. A romantasy series perfect for fans of enemies to lovers, fae courts, epic action, hilarious banter, and heroines embracing their power!
The story is brought to life with the voices of EMWylde and CaitlinKelly.
It’s a world filled with love, betrayal, revenge, and secrets. What is there not to like?

This book was okay. I enjoyed the premise and like that the main characters are linked by dreams. However, I wanted more from the plot, and I felt the writing was a bit juvenile. I did enjoy this book more than the first. The audiobook was very well done! Everyone has different preferences. Although this series wasn’t for me, I think it’s worth giving it a try. Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Select for providing me with an ALC in exchange for an honest review.

This book is super detailed and is told from different viewpoints so it has a ton of depth and back story which makes for a great story. I really enjoyed the court intrigue, assumptions made about characters both true and untrue that led to decisions made by both sides of the story that created great drama. Overall it is just a really interesting, adventure filled book that keeps you on tenterhooks the whole time.
The narrators did a fantastic job bringing so many characters and storylines to life. The pacing and voice acting was top notch.

Oh my goodness this story is Romantasy perfection! And the audio is fantastic! All the best fated mates feels with deep love, tension, protective, and bonds they can feel through. Found family make this story more dynamic. This second book has multi POV to see all sides of the political intrigue situation.
I absolutely love this series and can’t wait to read the next book!
🌶️🌶️🌶️ (open door spice, pretty descriptive)

I loved this sequel so much!
A Traitor Sister by Day Leitao is a fast paced romantasy with tons of magical creatures and places. I loved reading about the faelands and how their magic works. The narrators were fantastic and really brought the story to life
