Read this on NetGalley and loved it! I loved reading more about the characters in this series as I had already read the previous books. The basic premise is that main character Lily Jones is in Hollywood in the 1950s but she shouldn’t be there as she’s actually from the 21st Century. This obviously gives her an insight into things that might be about to happen and leads to some fun when she says or does things that are frowned upon in 1950s Hollywood! Lily is drawn into trying to solve the mystery of actress Kitty Fox’s disappearance, she enlists the help of her friends and puts herself in danger at times. This is an exciting story filled with great characters who endeavour to support each other with love and friendship. It is full of warmth and Lily’s determination to do the right thing in spite of what danger she might put herself in. She feels she has been kept in the past as she has a job to do and has a responsibility to fulfil that destiny. Remaining in the past is not without personal emotional complications and she feels the weight of any decisions she makes. This is just such a lovely well written book that I have no hesitation in recommending highly.

This is book three of this series and, to get the best from it, especially with regard to who Lily is and why she is where, and when, she is, I really do recommend you start from book one and read in order. Actually, not only for that reason, but they are both brilliant books so...
After her previous shenanigans Lily does not jump back to her own time line. This confuses her but, she thinks that maybe there is something else she needs to do in the 50s. She's not sure what but, here she is, so she best make the most of things. So she gets a job, her dream job, working on the movies as a PA to the Director. A movie that features rising star Kitty Fox. Aha... Lily seems to recall that after making the movie she disappears, a mystery never to be solved. Maybe that's why she is still around...?
And so begins another fantastic story set in the wonderful world of Hollywood film. Featuring, as well as Lily, other characters from past books, who I have also grown rather fond of - especially Louis and Tilda. We also have quite a few "real" stars featuring and it is clear that either the author is majorly obsessed with all things 50s Hollywood or she has spent ages on her research - or a bit of both. I do love it when a period book references people and places from the past with such accuracy. Weaving real people and real events seamless into her fiction.
And as well as people and places, this book also heavily features the misogynistic attitudes and highlights how things were for women, back in those days, in the predominantly man's world. I say back in those days, I am not wholly sure that things have indeed changed as much as we would like them to have.
The story contained herein hit the ground running for me and sucked me in easily from the off. It took no time at all to fully immerse myself back into Lily's world and, to be honest, I was actually quite sad when I realised that there were only a handful of pages left, after which I would have to leave the characters behind once again. Although I had a blast with them in this book, and the ending was perfect, book four can not come soon enough for me.
My thanks go to the Publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book.

I love my trips back to 1950s Hollywood with Lily and the gang. I wish I could find a time slip and spend a day there. The movie stars Lily is just casually hanging out with just blows my mind! this is book 3 and each time I say that it is my favourite ❤️ Such a fun and interesting series where we get to pretend that the world isn’t quiet as bad as it really is in 2025.
This book has Lily already in the past, having decided that she wants to stay. She is living her best life in a dream job and with some really good friends..one who could be more but how could that even work with her not technically being born yet! Poor Louis. She is working on the new Kitty Fox film when she remembers that Kitty goes missing without a trace very soon. Of course they need to find out why and what happens, putting themselves in danger but also some hilarious situations l
I hope this series will keep going for a very long time. Lily and her converse in the 1950s just needs more books! As does the thrill of star spotting James Dean and Marilyn Monroe ❤️
Thank you once again to Lisa Hall and Hera Books for my advanced copy of this amazing book to help l Publishes on July 24th.

Not that I am a fan of the golden years of Hollywood, but, I am completely enthralled by this series, now into book three.
Lisa Hall has managed to capture the drama and intrigue in producing the movies with more infighting and threat than in a boxing ring. I am captivated by the glamour, the sense of entitlement and the shameless name dropping around the sets. The Golden Years of Hollywood.
Lily has the ability to time travel; in the two previous episodes she had somehow slipped back in time to make a difference and save something terrible from happening.
In this third novel, it begins with her already in 1950 wondering why she is still there and not back home to her drab life, working two jobs, seventy years into the future, her own present.
In 1950 Lily has the role of personal assistant to the director. She is basically on the film to ensure everything runs smoothly, stays on budget and other secretary tasks. In addition she is asked to keep the two leading actresses apart. Principally to save Kitty from getting into trouble; but as the title suggests she seems unable to accomplish that.
While I found the concept again quite magical and unusual, I did start to feel the story was too close to the first book. I felt the author did well to link this story into her previous novels featuring Lily. Good repeat characters and development of their lives sufficient that you could pick this book up without having read the others.
The book finishes stronger in the final 20% of the narrative when the plot lines come together.
I really like the glamour in this time in Hollywood, the scope for fun with the studio setup and that behind the scenes feel. I also found the elements of being out of time interestingly pursued. Including attitudes to women, stalking and unwanted pregnancies. It was also troubling to contemplate that deaths of young aspiring women drawn to stardom in Beverley Hills could be seen as unimportant.
How the author can stick to her own time travelling rules and progress this series is an issue going forward. If a fourth book is published I will look forward to it coming to a bookstore near me.

Wow another great book from Lisa Hall, it’s another book that is hard to put down following Lily in the 1950’s to see if she can find out why and stop kitty fox from going missing. This book is just as good as the other 2 in the series.

This is the third I think? Lily jones Hollywood mystery story. It sort of had one night in soho I think the movie was called vibes but with a different.
The old Hollywood dark mystery theme was interesting and Lily being in a time hop was fun and really a good read .
A lot was happening but I could understand and keep track of it . Parts were a wee bit slow but it soon quickened up ,
I love time loop books especially with a bit of drama and mysteries .
I loved lily and she really cared for kitty .
Louis and Tilda I think her name was were good side characters .
I like a good quick mystery and this one was so exciting and suspenseful.
I really hope there’s more in this series and I can read the first two.

another excellent addition to the series. the trouble is every book i say "this is my fave" but now im on the verge of whispering about this one too!
Lily is still in her 1950's era. shes in LA, Hollywood no less. but she knows that the star actress Kitty Fox goes missing 'in the future' and noone was to know just what happened to her. can Lily find out or put a stop to it? and should she be doing that at all?
its so good to be back with the group. all the sparkle and tight nit talk that i loved with the others. its so seamlessly done as i am the first to be a cynic of time shifts or slips. but for me in these books this has never once been a problem or something my overthinking brain could find critic in. it just fits.
there is history, heart, mystery and friendships in these books and all swirled with luxuries and drama of the time and places.
loved this book and please please dont let it truly be the last from these guys!?

I have read the previous two books in this series and absolutely loved both of them. When I saw this third one up for request I was so excited to get approved. A brilliant plot where the character can travel back in time to solve crimes and usually murders. A brilliant addition to the series

I just love this series.
This time we are in Hollywood during the early 1950's. Lily is on set on a new blockbuster being filmed,; she's aware that the leading Kitty Fox makes a disappearance and tries to find out the reason.
This story is packed with mystery, history, love and friendships, as well as the usual Hollywood clashes.
I sincerely hope this isn't the last we see of Lily, Louis and Tilda.

I just love love love this series and Book 3 is my favourite of a favourite
Lily is still in 1950’s LA, specifically Beverley Hills and Hollywood and she ‘knows’ Kitty Fox ( actress ) will disappear forever and the mystery remain unsolved….but can she change why she disappears?
It is a proper ‘whodunit’ and all the old gang are back and some new additions, ranging from obnoxious to Hollywood starlet
The ‘time slip’/time travel is so so well done and I love how Lily occasionally says something from now and realises and I love how she can see how life has evolved, for good and bad, since the 50’s, I also enjoy the feel of old glam
Hollywood, the stars and the romance and the unbridled luxury and the old time big deal sandwiches from Schwab’s, if only Lily could take me there for a few weeks to experience it
Unusually for me I looked up a few things mentioned from the 50’s inc a Hermes bag and a candy, found it fascinating
I can’t honestly tell you how much I enjoy these books, I wish there were 33 not 3 and has to be my fav series of books
Farewell for now Lily and 1950’s LA……..hurry up back
