I can’t believe what I just read. Alice Feeney has totally blown my mind. Every chapter ended with my jaw dropping wondering what was coming next. And then, that ending! Trust me, do not start reading My Husband’s Wife if you don’t have time to finish it in one sitting.

My Husband's Wife is a twisty thriller that begins with Eden Fox leaving the house for a run just like any other day. Upon her return her key doesn't turn the lock, a strange woman answers the door, and her husband no longer recognizes her.

Alice Feeney never fails to make me look up from the page to try and wrap my head around the twist she threw in at the end of a chapter, and she never fails to make me keep turning that page until the book is finished.

I'm a big fan of Alice Feeney and always look forward to any book she writes. Once again, she has written a thriller that I couldn't put down.

The story plot is intricate and involves so many unexpected ins and outs. The different levels of mysterious happenings keep you guessing as to what will ultimately happen. The characters are intriguing, especially Birdy, whose sense of humor keeps you laughing. Clever and smart throughout!

I think this may be my favorite Alice Feeney since Sometimes I Lie. This was a BANANAS thriller with layers and layers of deceptions and plots and motivations, and I devoured it. If you read a lot of mysteries and thrillers it can be absolutely fun to be able to be swept away in a story that you cannot predict the various twists and turns. I really enjoyed Birdie and her humor, making her one of the more fun characters to come from a Feeney story. It's also fun when you're kept guessing as to whether there is a degree of the uncanny at work.
As is often the case in her novels there is plenty of truly heartbreaking backstories, and it will be worth looking at trigger warnings.

You may desperately want to, but you can't inhale an Alice Feeney thriller because her twists are so subtle, so cleverly implanted in the narrative, you will surely miss something if you proceed at full throttle.

This is another atmospheric, hypnotic thriller set near the sea with an idyllic yet vaguely mysterious home, Spyglass. The uneasiness sets in right away with artist Eden Fox, who has recently moved to Spyglass with her husband. She goes on a run to clear her head before her first big exhibition later that night. When she returns home, she finds that her key doesn't fit. She's confused but not worried...until a woman who looks just like her answers the door. The doppelganger is soon joined by Eden's husband Harrison, who insists Eden is the interloper.

Six months earlier, Birdy receives a devastating diagnosis and unexpected fortune all in one fell swoop--she inherits Spyglass as a gift from her estranged grandmother. But when Birdy finds a hand-delivered letter in her grandmother's possession from a London clinic named Thanatos, she's shocked to find that the letter accurately predicted the date of her grandmother's death.

The two storylines converge in a way that is both utterly shocking and deliciously clever. Nothing is as it seems, and you will be thinking about this story long after you finish the final page. Many thanks to NetGalley and Flatiron Books for this early copy. Look for this one January 20, 2026.
