These 2 have insane chemistry from the start.
This book is steamy and filled with little secrets that lead to a turbulent plot line. However, turbulence and all these two come back together like magnets. She's a fiesty, funny journalist and he is a commanding, rich F1 Team Principle.
If you're someone who loves F1 and thinks Toto Wolf is an attractive man, this book may just be for you.
Personally I would have liked more of a complete end, but for many this ending will be perfect.

Coming in Hot was my first Formula 1 racing romance and it absolutely won’t be my last ! Josie Juniper delivers a fast-paced, spicy, and emotionally rich story set in the high-stakes world of elite racing. From the opening chapters, I was hooked by the chemistry between Natalia and Klaus and the tension that sizzles every time they’re on the page together.
Natalia, a sharp and determined journalist, is at the top of her game—but her past encounter with the enigmatic Klaus Franke, Emerald Team Principal and racing legend, throws her off course in the best way. Their slow-burn romance is laced with unresolved feelings, icy stares, and stolen moments that gradually melt into undeniable heat.
I really enjoyed the character development—both leads have depth, vulnerability, and ambition that felt authentic. The added layer of scandal and professional conflict gave the story a solid emotional pull and kept me engaged.
The audiobook was also a standout! I’d rate the narration 4/5—the narrator did a phenomenal job bringing the characters to life and capturing the subtle tension between Natalia and Klaus.
Whether you're new to F1 romance like I was or already a fan, this one’s worth the ride. Drama, desire, and a dash of danger—Coming in Hot lives up to its name.
Thanks to Hachette Audio and NetGalley for the audiobook.

This book has it all. Hot formula 1 drivers, age gap, forbidden romance, “one night only”! The audiobook was great and the performers were perfect!

🔥 Review: Coming in Hot by Josie Juniper
🎧 Narrated by Max Rauch & Cecily Foster
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Coming in Hot delivers exactly what it promises, a fast-paced, emotionally charged Formula 1 romance that’s equal parts scandal, steam, and slow-burn tension. Natalia is a sharp, ambitious journalist at the top of her game, but it’s the brooding, mysterious Team Principal Klaus who steals the spotlight (and maybe her heart). Their chemistry? Off the charts.
Josie Juniper balances the glitz of elite racing with emotional depth and just enough behind-the-scenes drama to hook Drive to Survive fans. Max Rauch and Cecily Foster bring the dual POVs to life with nuance and fire, making every interaction feel like a high-stakes race to the finish.
One star off for a few pacing hiccups—but otherwise? Buckle up. This one’s a ride worth taking.

This was a fun listen!! I liked the narrators a lot, especially the MMCs accent! The spice was really good and well written!

Very fun as a big f1 fan I was very excited about this. It started really strong and I was very invested quickly but as it went on the back and forth kinda frustrated me. The narrator was a great natural voice the accent was fun but overall a good listen.

While this was my first book in the Frontrunner series, I had no trouble diving in and getting hooked from the start. Just as the title promises – the chemistry and romance come in hot! The dynamic between the MMC, an F1 Team Principal, and the FMC, a lead journalist for Auto Racing Journal is a delicious slow burn with forbidden tension and complicated secrets. This one also offers friend and family drama, which adds to the characters depth but does not overshadow the romance. The narrators of this audiobook do an excellent job, and the MMC has a swoony accent! Cannot wait to read more in this series!
This one is for you if you enjoy:

-One Night Stand
Thank you Hachette Audio for the ALC!

Audiobook - the female narrator uses a fake German accent when Klaus has dialogue, but the male narrator has a British accent. A little confusing. Also, I don’t like when the female narrator narrator uses different accents at all.
*While reading*
*The beginning of each chapter is met with a recap of what happened between the time jump from the last chapter. Even the interactions between Natalia and Klaus, so we don’t see majority of their relational development.
*I don’t like Phaedra. She just seems like a bad friend.
*Their relationship feels like it’s moving too fast. While time is passing, we are only told about their relational development instead of shown. I couldn’t understand why they like each other so much and why Natalia is offended by him keeping secrets, when it feels like they’ve just met with how much I’ve read.
*If she is family with the Morgans then they would have told her. She’s more upset with Klaus for not telling her about Edward, when Edward being sick isn’t necessarily his business, than he is with Phae.
Phae blaming Klaus for his rift with Natalia instead of her own actions is crazy.
*Everyone in this book is annoying and childish. The constant back and forth between Talia and Klaus was annoying.
*Why is Klaus so bent out of shape over Talia. He’s not over his wife completely, which is valid, but he still tries to be with Talia. I don’t get it.
*We also didn’t see their relationship develop at all, so I don’t get why they are so butt hurt over everything the other person does. Like we didn’t even see the buildup for them to want to start dating and then all of a sudden she’s done with him for being secretive about what’s going on with the team, like that’s any of her business in the first place.
*The whole side plot with her parents doesn’t make sense to me. They left her with her aunt while they got settled in California, but it was too expensive, so instead of moving back, they decide to work for a drug dealer? Then instead of keeping in contact with their daughter, they just leave her in the dark for over 20 years and decide to just pop up again. Also her aunt being so adamant about Talia hashing it out with her parents is annoying too. Like they could have continued to be in contact with her, even when they were in California, but they didn’t.
*Yeah, I’ve decided to DNF this book. I don’t care about the characters or their relationship and I know they are going to go back and forth with each other the whole book.

I liked Coming in Hot a lot more than I did the first book in the series. As far as F1 romances go, this one was a solid 3-4 star listen. I could relate to Natalia and Klaus easier than the other couple, who were younger and wilder.
The racing elements were interesting--I liked that this time instead of a driver, the MMC was the team principle. I find that role on F1 teams to be infinitely interesting. Natalia is a strong, independent woman, who has an established career. I appreciated the maturity of their connection.
Some people won't like that this book has the surprise pregnancy trope, but honestly, it worked for the story. It forced them to figure things out and decide what it is they really truly wanted. Babies have a way of doing that. Ultimately, their happy ending was hard fought, hard won, and the journey to get there made sense.
The narrators, Max Rauch and Cecily Foster, were both really talented. It was easy to get lost in the story because their narrations were very well done.

DNF'd at 10%. Unfortunately this is just not for me--the connection between these two feels a bit off? Almost like they really should not be together, and the MMC gives me the ick. Which is not what you want in a romance.

I ended up reading my physical copy over the arc. Unfortunately, the audiobook just wasn't for me.
The story itself was okay. The characters had a bit of a toxic dynamic, which I'm sometimes fine with because it leaves a lot of room for growth! That being said, the characters didn't develop the way I'd hoped. I also wish we got more moments without all the time jumps of them thinking about each other or seeing each other on TV or through articles or something.

Great narration - each provided a good amount of emotional depth to the performances which is what I need in a romance.
Having recently read Double Apex, I loved the way the first part of this book intersected with those events, giving us Natalia’s perspective on that, adding color to both books. But this book is also able to stand completely on its own.
Spoilers below
I am generally not a fan of surprise pregnancy as a trope but I appreciated the nuance with which Juniper handled the complexities of where the relationship was, Nat’s background, and life in general.

This was hard to keep track of what was happening, I did not enjoy the amount of time jumps. This caused to have way too many things happen off page. I was feeling like I missed most of the plot.
I was also not a fan of the characters, I found them unlikeable in the way they were written. I think this author may not be for me. Offering the fmc money because the mmc thinks shes a prostitute...lol what. I would be so offened and refuse to talk to him again. They were all physical chemsitry and nothing else. They were toxic.
I definatly don't think this style of book is for me.

I love races: WRC more than F1, and with that said, this was a book for me.
However (I will make this short because I don't want to hold you on purchasing and reading this book): I was expecting their story to be much hotter, with fireworks that explode and burn everything, based on their one-night stand. But, this is a story where she is fighting for her career. He is a moneymaker. They are great together but are finding reasons why they shouldn't be in a relationship. And then there is a baby, and I love unexpected pregnancies, so I would 100% recommend it!
I got a chance to listen to the audiobook of this book, and I loved it. The narrators were great, Klaus was 'chef's kiss'. So I highly suggest listening to the audiobook, and not reading the copy, but if you can't, then paperback it is.

I enjoyed this. I wasn't expecting to like it was much as I did because the MMC seemed so much older than the FMC, but I couldn't stop listening until I was finished.

This review is on both the story itself, as well as the audiobook.
The story was NOT it for me. I don't mind being all up in the messy, cheesy, drama of the romance but this just felt SO messy.
However, I couldn't put down my headphones because the narrators were really delivering - they carried me through to the end. Good voice acting from both narrators. Some parts were annoying and had me rolling my eyes but it was more from the writing.
Shame, because I do love a good F1 romance at the moment.
𖤓 Do I still recommend this to sports romance girlies? YES. This is a dramatic, MESSY, palette cleanser. I think either the book or audiobook would fine to read.

Soooo… I had high hopes for this book as I loved the first one. But honestly this book gave me super whiplash. The ending felt just thrown in there… but I would still recommend it.

This audiobook was really good. I think the narrators were chosen really well and it was a very enjoyable read!

This book was good but quite spicy! The FMC & MMC have a romantic encounter before realizing who the other is. Then they have to navigate their professional lives interconnecting while sorting out their personal relationship.
Thank you to NetGalley & the author for access to this ARC in return for my honest review!

This was so incredibly messy - and I usually eat that up. I love the messiness, and the feelings, and the characters just trying to figure out life, but this one was a miss for me. The back-and-forth nature of Klaus and Natalia's relationship gave me whiplash. They are into each other. Then one can't be open with the other. Or someone wasn't honest. And they break up. Then get back together again. Then break up. Then (huge major spoilers ahead) A BABY?! I'm sorry, but it feels like the baby brought them back together and that's no reason to BE with a person. The spicy scenes and Natalia's internal voice was also felt pretty awkward at some points to read. Or listen to, I guess. Not sure if it was the audiobook narrator or the writing but some parts had me cringing. Overall, their relationship just felt incredibly toxic, and I don't like them together.
That being said, even though this one wasn't for me, I DO think there is an audience out that that would enjoy this book. The characters have great physical chemistry, and the F1 portion of the book was super interesting and fun to read about. Thanks Netgalley for the ALC!
