Thank you Hachette Audio for an early listening copy via netgalley! All thoughts are my own.

The narrators did a wonderful job bringing these characters to life! Cecily Foster has been one of my favorite narrators and it still stands after this book! Max Rauch did a great job with his character's accent. I usually don't love when a narrator has a strong accent for their character but time i enjoyed it.

Onto the book and story itself. I did not enjoy the time jumps in this book. I don't watch F1 racing in real life but i know the races are spaced out during the season, however for the little amount of actual action that happens in this book it made the time jumps feel off to me. It felt like the entirety of the plot happens in the span of maybe 2 months but in reality it happens over several months. So that made it hard for me to fully engage in the story. Also the miscommunication/ not allowing him to explain was very frustrating.

**SPOILER**
However, I do enjoy the accidental/surprise pregnancy trope so that twist towards the end was great. And the fact that Klaus completely went into full support mode was perfect.

Overall, this was a good book. If you are looking for a spicy F1 romance that has got twists and turns (pun intended) you should pick up this book!

Releases June 17th!

This was a low-drama, easy listen set against the backdrop of F1 racing—though the sport is more scenery than plot. The focus is really on two adults navigating the aftermath of a one-night stand and figuring out what they want. Time jumps made it harder to connect emotionally at times, but I appreciated the small cast and the gentle support shown to the FMC. The dual audiobook narration was solid—the MMC’s voice stood out, though the FMC’s tone occasionally didn’t land for me. One repeated nickname did become a bit distracting.

This book was, unfortunately, not for me. The cover drew my eye and the idea of an F1 book, but that’s all I really liked about it. The characters were all horrible. So much back and forth and ridiculous arguments. The time jumps in each chapter were confusing and unnecessary and didn’t add anything to the character development.

The narrator’s of the audiobook were great!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced audiobook to review.

This story started out strong, but then fell flat. I haven’t read many age gap romances and I’ve been wanting to read a F1 romance so this one really appealed to me.

For being an F1 romance between a sports writer and team principal, it didn’t seem like there was much in the story about F1. The timeline jumped ahead so often making it difficult to understand the development of their relationship.

The conflict in this story felt like a YA book, but with spice. I got whiplash from all the fighting and making up the leads did. The characters seemed very mature for their ages, including the conflict between Natalia and Klaus, as well as Natalia and her best friend.

🎧 Audiobook length: 9h 38m
🎧 Narrators: Max Rauch & Cecily Foster

This was a quick read for me with the audiobook. Both narrators did a great job, the only part I did not like was the female narrator’s voice for reading Klaus’s spoken lines.

Thank you to Forever & Hachette Audio for providing me with a copy of this book. This review is voluntary, and all opinions are expressed are my own.

Sadly, this one missed the mark for me. I was so excited going in—age gap, forbidden romance, and an F1 backdrop? Right up my alley. But I struggled to connect with the characters and found their relationship more toxic than compelling. The constant time jumps made the story feel disjointed, with major events happening off-page, and the emotional development just wasn’t there.

Natalia and Klaus came across more immature than complex, and their dynamic felt more like enemies with benefits than a slow-burn romance. Add in some frustrating side characters and a pacing that either dragged or jumped too far ahead, I felt like I was dragged across the finish line.

The premise had real promise, and the audiobook narrators did a great job, but the story itself just didn’t work for me.

Thank you to NetGalley, and Hachette Audio for the ALC in exchange for an honest review.

Really just another romance where f1 is the backdrop and it feels like a Toto Wolff fanfic from the description of the mmc. Overall just an okay romance. Over the top with some things. Not really my cup of tea when it comes to f1 romances.

Thank you Netgalley and Hachette Audio | Forever for the free alc. My opinions are being left voluntarily. I loved book 1 and had book 2 on my most anticipated list. I didn't quite buy the tension and heat between the MCs. I think it all happened too quick and something about it didn't work.

This was an easy listen with low drama. While it takes place in the world of F1 racing, the sport itself is more of a backdrop setting piece. The real story is about two adults who had a one night stand who are trying to figure out what they want and how to talk about it.

There are time jumps that made it harder to care about the emotional moments, but I appreciated the small list of characters and the quiet patience many of them showed the female main character. I listened to the audiobook and really liked how the dual narrators brought each perspective to life. The MMC's voice was a highlight. The FMC’s narrator fit the role, thought at times I did not like the overall tone she took for her. Also, there was one nickname that got repeated a lot—to the point of distraction because of the way he'd say it.

The overall drama was mellow, all considered and the ending uses a familiar trope that wrapped things up neatly, if a little conveniently.

Coming in hot is a F1 romance about the principal and a journalist. As someone who knows nothing about F1 I feel I lost out on some of the plot and missed out on aspects of the plot. After discussing this book afterward I learned some of those plot points and it made me give this book a higher rating. The plots stars out good with a great meet cute and one night stand. However the relationship felt forced and awkward. I didn’t root for them to get back together. The challenges they had were not easily solved and so they threw in my least favourite trope accidentally pregnancy. Somehow this solved all there problems and everyone life happily ever after. So overall I didn’t hate this book but I wouldn’t recommend it.

The PERFECT f1 romance. The audio is 11/10 and perfect for any formula one girlies! Great romance, banter and wit. I loved the accuracy of the f1 references, you can tell the research that went into it

Max Rauch and Cecily Foster do a brilliant job bringing Klaus and Natalia to auditory life,

Klaus is a Formula 1 Team Principal/CEO/part owner, and Natalia is a journalist who just got her dream job working for an Autosport magazine covering the F1 beat on location (and is besties with Klaus's co-owner, but that's neither here nor there.) The absolute rollercoaster that occurs in the first few chapters from anticipation to anger to yearning is wild in the best way. After a one-night stand, Klaus and Talia realize they are stuck in a small traveling circus called F1 together for the foreseeable future. The forced proximity causes them to attempt friendship, which goes about as well as one would assume two strangers who start their acquaintance with a bang can manage (read: it doesn't go well at all.) Life, careers, and personal aspirations find both Klaus and Talia keeping the other at arm's length. We watch them battle with those around them, each other, and themselves for what they really want and need throughout the course of the book. Both characters have such unique voices, and in true Josie Juniper form, they have moments where you question if you truly even LIKE the character. Their chemistry is the molten kind, the kind that starts with an explosion, then simmers and bubbles until it's taken over everything in its path.

There's yearning. There's angst. There's some gorgeous Santorini views (with spice for good measure.) There are FOREARMS. There are messy families. There's racing. There's JOKES. Definitely recommend.

This audio was fantastic! Both of the narrators were amazing! I loved feeling like I was really part of the F1 world. After book one, I knew I would love this couple and I did! They were smoking hot! The banter snd spice was perfection! 5 stars ⭐️

Let’s just say that’s a totally applicable title, because yes, the chemistry between Klaus and Talia is scorching. In fact, Juniper excels in writing leg-crossing, hot-flashing, orgasmic tension that jumps off the page with equal amounts of heat and tenderness.

The reader meets both Klaus and Talia in Double Apex and there are certainly cameos from Phaedra and Constantin (mains from book 1), but this can easily be read as a standalone. I did appreciate how Phae’s character was viewed as frustratingly difficult by Natalia, because that was the vibe she gave off for the majority of her own book. This story involves raving, but without the lead driver energy. Austrian Emerald racing team Principal Klaus was such an unexpected change from traditional romance heroes. He’s straightforward but also quietly private and he matches Talia’s high energy with perfect aplomb. Even through their relationship starts as a one night stand (intentionally), you can feel that these two might be able to balance each other out in the long run. As a lead journalist, when Talia realizes exactly whom she’s slept with, she knows it could not have come at a worse time career wise and fights to get Klaus to see her as a writer and not just a gossip columnist.

As I mentioned, these two have off the charts chemistry and the sneaking around all over the globe for trysts felt very whirlwind even though the time line is much longer. I appreciated the atypical backgrounds for Talia and Klaus; she was raised by an aunt having two parents that made bad choices, but have now attempted to reconnect twenty some years later. He is a widow who very much loved and is somewhat still in love with his wife and both Klaus and Talia begin their connection as emotionally unavailable, but find room in their hearts for grace and love.

I enjoyed this as an audiobook with dual narration and surprisingly enjoyed Cecily Foster’s voice more for Klaus than I did Max Rauch’s. Both narrators DELIVERED in the bedroom scenes making this an audiobook I’d relisten to. I received an early copy from Hachette Book Group and Forever. All opinions are my own.

This one just didn’t work for me. I expected a bad boy but wasn’t expecting the immediate sexual relationship. I didn’t connect to the characters.
Tha narrators were pretty good though.

Once again, Josie delivered an absolute masterpiece with accurate F1 talk and just when I thought she couldn’t top Double Apex, she kind of raised the bar 🥵🥵🥵

The dramaaaaaa, the spice, the slowburn, the ups and downs, THE PLOT TWISTS, the F1 scandals. Ahhhhhhh!!! 🏎️✨

For those who are not F1 fans, please be aware that line of work is NOT conducive to daily interactions and that is why the timeline WORKS!!!! And for those who ARE F1 fans, you are going to enjoy this sooooo much!!

I think it was so cool for Josie to switch to a Team Principal and having this difficult/conflict of interest relationship between him and a reporter who is very eager to succeed was just “chefs kiss” 🤌🏻

I was fortunate enough to read aaaand listen to this on advance and this was just amazing, hearing Klaus calling her TALIA 😮‍💨 and the nickname he gives her 🥹, the voices for both characters were spot on, I think Klaus accent was perfect for someone in the F1 world who is so used to speak/listen many languages for years or at least for what I´ve seen.

Thank you so much to Netgalley, Forever Publishing, Hachette Audio and Josie Juniper!! 🏎️✨

This story just wasn’t for me. I do not think it’s necessarily a bad story but when I saw it was formula one racing I thought that it was going to be exciting with a bad boy MMC and that just wasn’t the case. It was slow paced and didn’t hold my attention. The narrators I will say are great. I give them 5 stars.

I mistakenly requested this ARC forgetting i was not a fan of the first book in this series but was actually pleasantly surprised. A friend of mine who loved the first book wasn't a fan of this one so it makes me think that if you liked the first, you might not like this but also vice versa because I had a fun time. The spice was hot ubt also fit both characters really well and I like how they progressed through making things a little kinkier. I also appreciated seeing Phae being acknowledged as incredibly difficult as a friend because honestly I was not a fan of her in the first book. I felt both Natalia and Klaus made decisions that really fit their story and personalities so the 3rd act breakup made a lot of sense given the circumstances. And that the reconciliation wasn't a easy feat either was very fitting. And minor spoiler but i feel the foreshadowing was pretty obvious, Natalia gets pregnant close to 85% and it is not an instant get back together situation which I think was fair and really good for the story.

Regarding the narrators, I struggled just a little with them both. I felt the female narrator at times spoke the MMC in a hard to understand accent and also the rerecorded sections were very different in quality/sound and it was jarring. The male narrator was good as Klaus but his female voices for other characters were a bit rough for me personally.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ALC!

I have some serious mixed feelings about this one. While I loved the narrators Max Rauch and Cecily Foster, they did amazing portraying Klaus and Natalia, the MC's, I felt the story itself lacked. A lot of the plot points were predictable and could be seen coming from a mile away but none the less I really did enjoy listening to Coming in Hot. The characters were likeable and relatable and the spicy scenes were *chef's kiss*🤌 the ending was sweet and wrapped up Natalia and Klaus' story with a neat little bow and I loved it!

Cars. Spice. Angst. Billionaire Romance-ish?
The sexual tension between the two main characters, Klaus and Natalia was thick! Whew!
The main characters have extremely complex histories with strained relationships that significantly impact and direct their interactions throughout the story.
While we got a great deal of character development, I felt that there was a lot of build up (based on character backgrounds) and then we didn't go anywhere with the build up in the plot. The connectedness of the plot was a bit lacking for me and I feel like I am still waiting for something to happen.
The spice in the book was top tier, but I wanted more plot, more excitement. I think another aspect I had some trouble with was the time jumps. Usually this doesn't bother me, but something about the way this was written into the plot with the dual POV was frustrating.
I do think with more plot development, this could have easily been a 3-4 star book for me.
I want a Cosmin and Phaedra book!
Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Update 5/31/2025: I also received a copy of the audiobook for review. I stand with the above review.

Coming in hot, is a romance where they have sex without knowledge of who the other one is. There’s a rich race car owner and a racing writer. Hard to believe she falls in love with him, him being handsome and rich and of course she is beautiful and has a hot body 🙄
