We met Jamie and Sybil in the first book in regards to the bride missing in her wedding day. I was surprised to learn that they did not get married.
This was such a great second chance romance. With her honeymoon voucher about to expire, she goes alone to her honeymoon destination, Maui and enjoy her time. Jamie ends up being there and they keep bumping into each other.
I enjoyed how the story played out with giving us Sybil's past with her previous engagements. I really enjoyed seeing Jamie and Sybil's relationship past as well.
There are was a lot fun adventures with hikes, boat cruises and horse back riding. I enjoyed the tension between Jamie and Sybil and the two of them finally confronting with what happened.
This being set in Maui, I wished that the author wrote some local characters and some conversations with pidgin English to make me feel like I was really on Maui.
Cherami Leigh did a good job with the narration. I could feel the tension between Sybil and Jamie.
Thank you @readforeverpub @hachetteaudio for a copy of this book.

I was somewhat hesitant to read about a young woman who already has three failed engagements under her belt. I'm glad I did. The story has a mix of drama, comedy, action, and romance.
My favorite characters were actually minor ones—in particular, the resort bartender, concierge, and horseback riding instructor. Both fiancé #3, Jaime, and the horseback riding instructor fondly—and significantly—reference their grandparents. [I had one of the GOAT grandparents, so good grandparent characters—no matter how limited—earn bonus points from me every time.] It isn't until around 93% into the book that Sybil realizes she is worthy of great love, and that she already has it from her girlfriends/squad—no surprise to the readers.
This is the second book in a series of undetermined length—the first is Mistakes We Never Made. I don't think I missed anything by reading them out of order. I gave Sybil a slight rating bump because I'm curious enough to go back and read the first installment.
Narrator Cherami Leigh has a pleasant, youthful voice.
Content warnings include infertility, miscarriage, and an emotionally abusive and controlling romantic partner (past). [3.5⭐]

Alright… this one was down right cute! I am such a sucker for a well written second chance romance! PLUS there’s a little Sybil in all of us. How often do we get swept away in our relationships & kind of forget who we were before? We all can want to be settled & to be wild! Also Jamie might not be the typical broody MMC that makes a kitten pur but their love story was so cute!! & the kind of love triangle/fake dating situationship with Seb was pretty entertaining! Such a fun summer beach read that feels so nostalgic to a good early 2000’s rom-com!

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC and for the ALC!
So first of all, I enjoyed the writing in the book! The story flowed well and the writing was great, but I didn’t really care for the story. The narrator was also great. This was a single POV book, but the narrator did a great job differentiating character voices and what not.
Now for the story. This was a second chance which is one of my least favorite tropes tbh. Some things were said in the beginning of this book that, for me, would be unforgivable. I’m also not a fan of the “hot mess”, “unhinged”, and “impulsive” FMC that is an adult, but acts like a child. Sybil’s who personality is if “I’m just a baby” 👉🏼👈🏼 cane to life. Honestly, I feel bad for Jamie he deserves better.
Maybe it’s not fair to rate because the story just wasn’t for me and others seem to really like it, but this is my honest opinion.

DNFd at 4%
The main character wasn’t super interesting and I didn’t like the narration for the story. I just wasn’t interested in the brief bit I read and didn’t like the audio enough to continue the story.
*thank you so much Hachette audio for an ALC in exchange for an honest review.

This one started a little slow for me…
But once the ex-fiancé craziness hit, it was giving ✨ tropical mess ✨ in the best way.
Sybil ends up on a solo honeymoon only to run into her ex-fiancés. (PLURAL!) 🥴 Because why have one awkward run-in when you can have a full-blown disaster?
While this truly read mostly as a rom-com, I wholeheartedly appreciated the aspect of Sybil’s journey struggling through PCOS, miscarriage and panic attacks (all of which I have personally experienced)
I love the feeling of being seen in a book!
Bonus points to narrator Cherami Leigh! She really brought Sybil (& all the many other characters) to life! It takes a lot of talent to do so many different roles with different personalities and inflections. She absolutely nailed this one! 👏🏽
While this wasn’t a life changing read for me, it was a fun, breezy listen for summer! 🌺🌴🍍🍹

Hannah Brown’s continuation of her romance book from last summer was an unexpected hit. Last summer I enjoyed reading her first book, Mistakes We Never Made, which clearly set up this book and Sybil’s story. I couldn’t stop listening to Sybil. We learned so much about her in this book! I listened to it in one day.
Sybil has credit that’s about to expire from what would’ve been her honeymoon. She decides to go to Maui, to the exact resort where her honeymoon should’ve been last summer. To her unexpected horror, her ex-fiance also has decided to use HIS credit to the exact same resort at the same time Sybil is there. To add to it, Sybil’s 2 other previous ex-fiancés also happen to be at the same resort at the same time she’s there…
Brown works to develop her characters and grow their back stories. I was hooked from the beginning. While you don’t need to read Brown’s first book to enjoy this one, I personally feel like it sets up Sybil’s story nicely and would be helpful to read.
TW: Mention of Miscarriage

2.5 stars
I’m not the intended audience for this book. BUT switching to listening to the audiobook saved it from a DNF. I think the narrator did a fantastic job capturing the characters. I especially loved Masons(?) Australian accent.
I think the ideal audience is in their twenties for this messy love story.
I felt like the way Sybil was written to be the quirky “not like other girls” to a point that made her difficult for me to connect with. I felt like pacing was off and there was so so much going on. I struggled a bit with the non linear storyline.
I think this book is ideal for readers who enjoy reality dating tv shows it felt like similar personalities and relationship dynamics.
Door cracked open spice
Content warning:
Manipulative/ controlling relationships
Miscarriage/ infertility concerns

This book pics up one year after Sybil's most recent engagement ended at the altar. Sybil was most recently engaged to Jamie but things took a turn when she disappeared for a couple days before the wedding, ultimately leading to the end of her relationship with him. Picking up a year later on the honeymoon trip that never happened, she and Jamie reconnect but not without some drama. Because not only is Jamie there, but another ex-fiance has made an appearance. What a mess!
Ultimately I thought this was a super fun book that hits on some really hard topics dealing with PCOS, infertility, and miscarriages, but in a way that isn't overwhelming (to me at least). I loved the way none of what was brought up ended up being ignored or treated like her hardships didn't matter.
Having read this as a digital copy and also an audio copy in tandem, I felt that the audio really brought this book to life and enhanced the reading experience. The narrator did an amazing job capturing all the emotions Sybil was feeling during the whole book.

Okay, Hannah B! I loved this story, it was so cute & perfect for summer! It was a quick, easy read, that also has a lot of depth. I cant wait to recommend this one to friends who are a fan of romance! I also liked that there wasn't a lot of smut, but still has that romance feel! Great book overall! Thank you for a early audiobook listen! The audiobook was great! I thought the narrator did a great job for every voice over. & her voice was truly perfect for this character & book!

This just wasn’t for me. I feel like a younger audience would like this story more than the over 40 crowd. It was a little juvenile for me to really connect to and appreciate.
I do think a lot of people would find it a cute entertaining romance story but it was just missing something for me.
I did not like the MC she came off very superficial and sort of whiny could be somewhat due to the narrator’s portrayal but I feel they are following the story and how the character was written.

For the record, I haven't finished the first book in the series (started and couldn't get into it) so I didn't have the backstory/context that might of helped with Sybil Brown's story. The story felt like a deep reflection of Sybil's love life and past trauma. I found the story to be funny but predictable and I am not a fan of the miscommunication trope... especially when it impacted their relationship so much? I would give the book a 3 and audio book a 4 stars! Thank you Hachette audio and NetGalley for the Advanced Listeners Copy/Audiobook and thank you for the ARC! I loved the narrator!

I ended up enjoying this second book in reality tv star Hannah Brown's Mistakes we never made series a whole lot more than I was expecting to! Set in Hawaii, this book sees Sybil Brown going on the honey moon she never had a year after her marriage was called off only to find herself reunited not only with one former fiance but two! There's forced proximity, fake dating, a second chance romance, and lots of vacation shenanigans but also a lot of soul searching and emotional depth as Sybil grapples with her self worth in light of her PCOS diagnosis and potential infertility problems. Read with care as the book discusses miscarriages and unexpected pregnancies but ends in a heartwarming HEA. Good on audio and a fun summer romance read. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital and audio copy in exchange for my honest review.

This was a cute one. I enjoyed following Sybil as she takes off on her canceled honeymoon from her wedding that never happened. This second chance romance trope worked so well here. The character development was great; the storyline was fun to follow. There was depth to the characters and to the relationship. The ending was great. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator was fantastic. This romcom is one I can happily recommend for a perfect summer read.

This was such a fun story and well produced audiobook! I liked the setting of the story being encounters with ex boyfriends while in forced proximity on an island vacation. It set the mood for Sybil’s arc very well. The narrator did a wonderful job inflecting tone for each character’s dialogue, and I liked her different voices for Jamie, Seb, and Sybil. I listened on 1.5x speed and this was perfect for me!
Thank you to Hachette Audio for an early copy!

I enjoyed this book a lot! I can tell huge growth in the writing from book 1. Loved getting so much background on Sybil, as well as seeing her development throughout the story!

★★★★☆ A Twisting, Glittering Journey of the Heart
Hannah Brown’s The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain is a dazzling exploration of identity, love, and self-worth told through the life of a woman whose romantic history is as layered and mysterious as the rings she keeps in a velvet box. With rich prose and clever storytelling, Brown crafts a tale that’s both emotionally resonant and refreshingly witty.
Sybil Rain, our flawed but magnetic protagonist, moves through four significant relationships, each represented by a unique engagement ring—reflecting a different version of herself she either lost, created, or reclaimed. The novel balances romance with introspection, and its structure—a ring per part—offers a satisfying symmetry that deepens as the story unfolds.
Brown's characters are vivid, especially Sybil, whose vulnerability and strength are rendered with care. The dialogue crackles with authenticity, and moments of humor lighten the emotional weight. While some pacing lags in the second half and one or two plot turns feel slightly contrived, these are small quibbles in an otherwise compelling narrative.
Ultimately, The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain is about more than romantic love it's a story of becoming. A memorable, thoughtful read that lingers like a bittersweet melody.

Thoughts: this was a quick fun listen! I got through it SO fast and I wanted to see how everything played out! It was a bit predictable, but I still enjoyed seeing how it all unraveled. I’ve been a fan of Hannah Brown since the Bachelor so when she released the first book I knew I had to read it, and then I was super excited when I got approved for this ALC. If you read Mistakes We Never Made you’ll recall Sybil’s story line was left on a kind of cliffhanger to set up for this book. It picks up 1 year after Sybil’s wedding day. It was a second chance romance similar to the first book, however, the journey was definitely different still. I’d say this is a fun read and if you have time absolutely check it out, however, it did not have a “wow” factor to it that wants me to tell you to race to read it, and there are a few things that could use some improvement. There were some unnecessary inclusions into the story (the storyline with Sebastian), that I think took away from the main plot which could have used a bit more developing and fleshing out in my opinion. Overall though I really enjoyed it, it was fun and kept me engaged!
Thank you to NetGalley, Hannah Brown, Forever Publishing, and Hachette Audio for an ALC in exchange for an honest review!

This one didn’t quite work for me, though I’ll admit my own past might’ve colored my reading experience. I usually enjoy a good second chance romance, but here it felt like the characters had grown so far apart that maybe the second chance wasn’t the right call.
There wasn’t anything wrong exactly—I just wasn’t feeling the connection, and the story didn’t pull me in. Could be a “me” thing, but it didn’t land.

Thank you Hannah Brown, Hachette Audio & NetGalley for providing this ARC to review.
When I received this, I didn't realise it was the 2nd book in the [Mistakes We Never Made] series but thankfully it could be read as a standalone. I am looking forward to back tracking and reading the first book soon to better understand the background of this one.
The story focuses on an Sybil Rain, who heads off to paradise to enjoy what should of been her honeymoon destination after a third failed engagement. Having paid for the trip a year prior to the wedding being called off - she is in desperate need of an escape and this is the perfect opportunity. After an embarrassing run in with the man she should be calling her husband at the resort, Sybil lies and tells him she is here with a new boyfriend and things begin to spiral from there. Of course the guy playing fake new boyfriend part, is also another ex fiance from the past.
This book is for those who love a second chance romance. The FMC is relatable and its rewarding to see her growth throughout the book. With all the wild drama constantly throughout, there were some moments that were so unbelievable it pulled me away from the story but I did enjoy this one overall. I have never read anything by Hannah Brown, but the narrator brought this book to life. I was able to understand the emotions and challenges that Sybil goes through as well as picture the scenes playing out in my head. Cherami also did an excellent job of narrating both the female/male roles, giving clear distinction. Please check your triggers for this book as there is some heavier themes throughout.
If you're a fan of Christina Lauren, Meghan Quinn & Rebecca Serle, I think this book would be for you!
