I finished this audiobook over a week ago, and it still lives rent free in my head. This was the second chance book that I didnt know that I need. This was my first audio that I listened to that was performed by Cherami Leigh. She did such a great job keeping the reader wanting more. There are lots of diffent elements to this book and some flash back moments. This can sometimes get confusing on an audiobook but Cherami and production did a great job so I was never confused on if it was past or present day. I cant wait to check out more work from Sherami. Thank you so much Hatchett Audio and Netgalley for this ALC! This one will be a top contender for one of my favorite books of the summer!

I listened to the audiobook and I really enjoyed it. The narrator has a beautiful voice, it truly made the experience better. She carried the story beautifully. It was a sweet story with unexpected depth and summer vibes.
The story starts when Sybil decides to use the vouchers leftover from her wedding a year ago, a wedding that never happened. What's more perfect than a vacation in Hawaii. Except, her ex-fiancee Jamie is there too, with a female coworker. Trying to save face, Sybil lies she's there with her boyfriend. There's still things unresolved between them and when the situation starts to heat up, Seb enters the picture. Her second ex-fiancee, willing to pretend to be her fake boyfriend. Complications arise, wounds bleed anew, especially the ones her first fiancee left. With three rings from three different guys, will there be a fourth?
I really liked the story, full of vulnerability and self exploration. While there is miscommunication, which I found incredibly frustrating, I do think, ultimately, it made sense. There needed to be growth first.
Second chance romances don't always work, but this one did. Sometimes being apart is the only way to grow together.
The setting was absolutely beautiful, it gave me all the summer vibes. The beach, snorkeling, horseback riding, pool and cocktails and a summer storm..
I really liked the characters, both the main and the secondary ones. They all made the story compelling in their own way. Sybil's journey was heartbreaking, but hopeful. Her fight to heal the scars she carried and the fear that ruled her life, was slow, but important. I love how she found her strength and the love she deserves in the end.
I know Hannah from her season on the Bachelorette, but had no idea she was an author until recently. I really enjoyed her writing, I think she did an amazing job.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were relatable and super fun. My interested was peaked I loved Hannah on the Bachelorette and she did not disappoint. I think I finished this book in two days it was soooo good!!

The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain is a beautifully raw story that explores what it means to fall apart—and piece yourself back together—in a world that’s constantly measuring your worth by timelines and milestones.
From the first page, I was pulled into Sybil’s world. The writing doesn’t feel like a cookie-cutter romance. With a dual timeline structure and plenty of unexpected turns, the plot feels completely original (at least to my knowledge). It kept me on my toes, always wanting to know what would happen next.
Sybil’s journey is deeply personal. Through anxiety, grief, and the pressure to perform for others (especially in-laws and society’s expectations), she slowly uncovers who she is without all the noise. As someone with PCOS and Endometriosis, I felt that the representation of pregnancy loss and fertility struggles was handled with sincerity and care. It was powerful to see those experiences honored in such a sensitive way.
The love triangle adds tension and depth. This isn’t just a romance—it’s a story about learning to sit with discomfort, discovering self-worth, and understanding that your timeline doesn’t have to match anyone else’s.
While I wasn’t totally sold on how quickly the final engagement happened, I appreciated that it felt more like a symbol of growth and promise rather than just a traditional “happily ever after.”
This book stands out for its emotional honesty, originality, and strong character development. It’s a refreshing, unpredictable take on love, loss, and learning to choose yourself.

I really enjoyed this. I didn't read book one but I was so interested in the runaway bride second chance storyline. Sybil was such a great character to be in her head. I was interested the whole time. The flashbacks came at great points in the story. LOVED their flirty reluctant conversations! The jealousy was great.
Other man but not in the romantic or cheating sense, I loved Sebastian being chaotic!
Interconnected to book 1 Emma/Finn.
First time author for me and would definitely go back to listen to book 1.
The story of Nicki going on a dating reality show that was pretty much exactly Hannah's real Bachelorette ending made me laugh cause I watched during her season and it just threw me back to that drama!
Audiobook narrator: Cherami Leigh
Single POV, First Person
Tropes: Runaway Bride, Second Chance, Forced Proximity
Spice: 0/5

First time listening to Cherami Leigh and she was fantastic, super expressive and great range of voices for each character. Loved her, added to my list of faves!
Thanks to Hachette Audio and NetGalley for providing an ALC.

"The Four Engagements of Sybil Rain" is a light, summery read with just enough emotional depth to keep you thinking. I was excited to receive an audiobook ARC of this one, especially after enjoying "Mistakes We Never Made." While neither book was a standout for me personally, I think many romcom readers—especially fans of second-chance romance—will find plenty to enjoy here.
The tropical resort setting is a perfect backdrop for a summer read, and I appreciated how Sybil formed relationships with the resort staff—it gave the story a grounded, human feel. I also loved the structure of the novel, which revisited each of Sybil’s past engagements to slowly reveal the emotional baggage she carries into the present. It gave the story a strong foundation, especially when exploring deeper topics like PCOS and how that shaped her past and present relationships.
That said, I struggled to connect with Sybil as a main character. I understand that her flighty personality was core to the plot, but at times it felt like the conflict she created was more frustrating than necessary. While the story eventually revealed some of the reasons behind her behavior, she still often came across as immature and self-centered—especially when it came to Jamie. I found myself wishing she’d taken more accountability earlier in the story, particularly after Jamie had been so honest and vulnerable with her about still having feelings for her.
The fake-dating scenario with Seb, one of Sybil’s ex-fiancés, was also difficult for me to get behind. While I usually enjoy this trope, it felt like it undercut the emotional progress Sybil and Jamie had made. The miscommunication in this section really made me sympathize with Jamie, who seemed like he deserved more clarity and care than he got.
There were a few moments that felt oddly familiar—not in a trope-y way, but in ways that reminded me of specific scenes from other media (including one particular kitchen scene that gave me déjà vu from "The Paradise Problem" and The Office). That said, I did love the hilarious nods to reality TV—the character of Liam gave me major flashbacks to a certain contestant on Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette, and certain similarities had me laughing out loud.
One plot point that didn’t quite work for me was the dramatic incident late in the book. It felt like a sudden tonal shift, and I think the story could’ve reached its emotional resolution without it. I would have preferred a quieter, more character-driven moment where Sybil made the choice to return to Jamie on her own terms, rather than relying on a dramatic rescue. It would have been a beautiful way to show growth in her as a character—instead of running away, like she always does, running back to Jamie after her revelation on the beach with Seb.
Still, the final chapters were heartfelt and satisfying. I especially loved the full-circle flashback to Sybil and Jamie’s meet-cute. While this book wasn’t a perfect match for me, I think fans of heartfelt romcoms will appreciate its second-chance storyline, playful premise, and ultimately swoony happily ever after.

This was cute novel from Hannah the Bachelorette. I read her first novel and wanted to see if the second book was good as well. It was and I liked the love story that was in it. Not everyone has a linear love story and it is refreshing to read a book that is not all rainbows and butterflies. I think that Hannah Brown writes good books. I am happy to hear that she herself will get her HEA too.

A second chance romance that follows up “Mistakes We Never Made” - this time following Sybil’s story a year after the end of her most recent engagement. It’s a cute, heartfelt summertime read with some depth. If you enjoyed the first book, you’ll definitely love this one. It was fantastic on audio.
Thanks to Hachette Audio and NetGalley for a copy of this audiobook.

I was genuinely so happy to see Sybil's story continue—after finishing Mistakes We Never Made, I couldn’t stop thinking about her. When I found out there was a sequel, I dove in without hesitation, and it completely pulled me back into her chaotic, lovable world.
This book picks up after another one of Sybil’s infamous failed engagements, and honestly, watching her try to move on by cashing in those unused vacation vouchers hit me in the heart. She just wanted a quiet escape to clear her head, but of course, life had other plans. Running into someone from her past during that trip? Totally unexpected, and it flipped her plans upside down in the best possible way.
The mix of second-chance romance and fake dating was everything I wanted. It was messy, funny, and surprisingly tender in places. And I’ll admit—I’m not usually a fan of miscommunication in books, but here, it felt so human. It wasn’t just drama for drama’s sake—it actually helped the characters grow and figure themselves out.
But what I loved most was Sybil herself. Watching her peel back those layers and really start to understand what she wants, not just in love but in life, felt so raw and relatable. She’s flawed and impulsive and endlessly endearing. I finished the book feeling proud of her, like I’d just cheered on a friend figuring it all out.

I didn't realize that this book was in a series, and in fact, it works as a standalone. The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain contains the weaving of Sybil's sordid dating and engagement history alongside her present-day predicament of finding herself at a tropical resort with not one, but TWO ex-fiancés.
This book is heavy on the miscommunication trope, along with second chance romance and makes for great summer reading. It does contain some heavy topics as we delve into Sybil's backstory to find out just what made her pull that runaway bride routine that readers of 'Mistakes We Never Made' will be familiar with. At first, Sybil was not as likeable to me due to her use of mental illness to explain every single poor decision that she has made in her lifetime - and while she is at this resort she makes several. However, she does show amazing character growth in the novel, especially in the third act. Her chemistry with Jamie, her latest ex-fiancé is palpable and the I thought the romance aspects of the novel were nicely done without being too heavy handed. By the last third of the novel, I was rooting heavily for Sybil to find her happily ever after, whatever that may look like for her.
Lastly, I was able to enjoy this book as an audiobook, and the narrator was phenomenal!! She put so much emotion into her performance, especially during the scenes that Sybil is just melting down - it was so well done. I credit her performance to making me like this book much earlier into than I would have if I was reading a hard copy (because honestly, it was hard for me to like Sybil at first). It was just really well done and produced, and I'm so glad that I was able to take in this book this way.
Thank you to NetGalley, Hachette Audio, and Hannah Brown for providing me with an ALC to review prior to publication.

A big thank you to Hachette Audio and NetGalley for the ALC! This was one of my most anticipated books of the summer and it did not disappoint. I loved Mistakes We Never made but always wanted more from Sybil's side of things. Let me say I am the odd ball that listens at 1X anything else it just too fast and I can't understand, so I listened without adjusting the speed.I felt the audio quality was great. Audio was very clear and no weird background noises. Somehow the narrator made Sybil's voice sound exactly as I pictured. in my head while reading Mistakes We Never Made last year. It suited the character perfect.y in my opinion. I will say that I hated how they made Emma sound. She sounded like a mix between one of Cinderella's mice and a child.
I loved finally being able to know what happened with Sybil. The setting was the perfect summer getaway and I loved them both being at the same resort. The realization that Sybil had a miscarriage before her wedding hit very close to home as I just recently had my second miscarriage but I felt it was handled well in the book. Overall I loved this read and I cannot wait for more! I am hopeful that we will get two more books centered around the other remaining members of The Core Four.

This was my first Hannah Brown book and I really enjoyed it!!
I don’t read second chance romance books but I couldn’t put this down. I really loved all the stories lines about how she has been engaged 4 times. I also like the growth of the characters as well.

The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain is a perfect summer rom com. I listened as an audiobook and this would be great for your listening needs on the beach! The tropical vacation vibes were top tier.
I hadn’t read any of Hannah Brown’s books before but was a big fan of hers from the bachelor world. This looked like a perfect read for summer so I picked it up and I’m so glad I did! I did feel like there was a lot of who Hannah is in this book but not in a bad way, I could just really feel her sparkling and down to earth personality slip through the characters and their experiences.
I loved all the adventures in this book and the romance was really well done. Second chance is a favorite trope of mine and I loved how it was represented here. Weaving the past and present through all of Sybil’s failed engagements was a unique twist I thought added a lot to the story.
My favorite part of the book was Sybil’s growth and how much she learned about herself as time went on. It was really cool to see her come into her own and develop more self trust and confidence. I loved that this played a big part in figuring out what she wanted in a relationship through the whole story!
I do feel the book would’ve benefitted from a content warning as some of the major plot points/surprises at the end could be difficult for some readers.
The narrator did a great job bringing Sybil to life and making the story feel believable through the listener’s ears. The pacing was great and I loved how easy this audiobook felt.
Overall this was a solid read I would definitely recommend you add to your summer reading list!
Thank you NetGalley and Hachette Audio for the ALC in exchange for my honest review!

Rated 3.5 - The narrator was great, the content of the book was enjoyable and kept me coming back to hear more. Cute Story! Love the friendship, self discovery, and happily ever after aspects. Would def recommend to anyone who enjoys light-hearted happy reads.

What I was expecting when I started this book was a fun easy beach read. What I wasn't expecting was to be bawling in my car when the MMC is telling the FMC you don't need to be perfect to be loved 😭. Sybil is struggling as it comes up to the one year anniversary as to when she was left at the altar. Sybil's friends convince her to do something for herself and use the credits for her soon to be expiring airline and hotel credits from the cancelled honeymoon. After some convincing she decides to do and goes to Hawaii for some relaxation and work video content. Low and behold who should be there when she arrives but her ex-fiance 😯 Throughout the story there are funny run-in moments, touching thoughtful moments and a lot of healing. I enjoyed how the story weaved in her 3 past engagements and how they all connected and made her the person she is today. The setting of the story was beautiful and you feel transported. The narrator was amazing and exactly what I would imagine Sybil to sound like since the story is told from her point of view. Thank you Hatchette audio for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Hannah Brown’s The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain is a delightful, sun-soaked romantic comedy that expertly blends humor, heartbreak, and second chances. Sybil, armed with unused honeymoon vouchers and a determination to reclaim her joy, finds herself unexpectedly sharing a tropical paradise with not one, but two ex-fiancés—and the complications quickly multiply.
Brown’s storytelling shines through the vivid setting of Starling Ranch Inn, complete with snorkeling mishaps, sizzling staff parties, and heartfelt moments that peel back Sybil’s guarded layers. The audiobook’s charming narration captures the witty dialogue and emotional beats, making Sybil’s journey toward healing and love feel authentic and engaging.
If you love a fun, messy love story filled with vibrant characters and a splash of beachside drama, The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain is the perfect escape. It’s a breezy, heartfelt listen about embracing the past and daring to find love again.

SUCH A CUTE BOOK! This was such a fun book and im glad to have received the ARC! The writing was much better than Hannah’s last book (which wasn’t bad for her debut novel) but you could tell her skills have improved.
Just a feel good summer book!

Thank you to Hachette Audio & Netgalley for the ALC.
This was one chaotic mix of a book featuring the second chance trope and fake dating with an ex. I wasn't sure how it would come together, but it really worked for me.
Sybil is on a solo trip to Maui using vouchers for a honeymoon for her last failed engagement. It's there she runs into her ex fiance and tries to save face by lying about having a boyfriend with her. Cue her other ex fiance flying in and a fake dating scheme is born. This book featured a healthy dose of miscommunication between her and her most recent ex and you want to shake them a bit to finally talk. I do feel like the separation ultimately helped as there was a lot of personal growth for them as individuals while apart.
There were flashbacks/backstory with all three of her exes and it really helped flesh out her past insecurities and trauma and why she has made the decisions that lead her to this point.
Overall this was a great summer romance with the right mix of heart and depth.
The narrator was fantastic and I felt her voice perfectly fit the character.

Hannah's first fiction book was a DNF for me, but I still wanted to give this one a try.
It was a fun, breezy summer read, perfect for fans of forced proximity and second change romance.
The narrator did a fabulous job!
3/5 stars!

Although I didn't realize that this was a second installment of a series from Hannah Brown, it didn't matter. There was plenty of flashbacks and background to understand what is happening throughout this book.
I am not always a fan of a slow burn or second chance romance, but I did really enjoy this one. There was great characters and I felt like I knew each of them by the end of the book.
Thanks NetGalley and Hachette Audio for the ALC of The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain.
