Wow, I was completely taken with this book. The perfect emotional and dynamic rom-com to set the mood for summer. I definitely did get a more heart-rending Forgetting Sarah Marshall vibe— and I loved it. I ate up all the awkward and sometimes funny interactions, the affecting flashbacks, and the difficult unraveling of so many hidden truths.

The FMC was so incredibly imperfect and relatable. While I loved the second-chance romance plot, Sibyl’s personal journey of self-discovery, self-forgiveness, and self-acceptance is really what stole my focus. (But also important to note that MMC *is* very swoon-worthy.)

The narration for this audiobook was sublime. SO much emotion. Cherami Leigh gave a seriously amazing performance. The differentiation between characters 🤌 the ability to relay so many emotions *so* dynamically 🤌 I mean, just the emotional intelligence of the whole performance 🤌 I really hope she starts narrating more audiobooks, because I would absolutely pick up a book just based on her involvement.

I absolutely need to check out more from Hannah Brown, while I anticipate whatever she releases next. I loved her storytelling— the beautiful descriptions, dynamic characters, and deep themes really captivated my attention.

I went into this novel completely blind and what a pleasant surprise! This contemporary romance was such a fun time(: Sybil is such a fun and relatable character. I really enjoyed the openness and honesty of women's health and mental health in today's world. Sybil's journey wasn't linear by any means, but she eventually ended up right where she was meant to be.

I would like to consider myself an audiobook girlie, and I loved the single narration of this book! Most of the time I prefer duet or dual, but this narrator did a fantastic job representing multiple genders and accents. It was easy to tell when different characters were speaking, and she displayed every heart wrenching emotion beautifully! Definitely recommend!

This was such a fun and easy listen. I really enjoyed getting the perspectives of Sybils love with each of the men that she was engaged to. It felt like I was watching a movie in my mind which made it go by so fast. Hannah Brown really hit it out of the park for a second time!

I remember watching The Bachelorette and Hannah’s journey and knew she was someone to look out for. I have enjoyed all her books. Looking forward to more by Brown.

This one follows Sybil’s journey. She sets out to Hawaii, which was paid for the previous year for her upcoming wedding, which was cancelled. She has credits she needs to use and what better place to unwind!

Little did she expect to run into her then-fiancé Jaimie, which sends her spiraling just a bit. Apparently, his family business is thinking about buying the resort she is at. She will run into other men from her life and discover she must deal with her past to move forward.

I enjoyed how authentic her story is and her realization that she needs to face her past challenges. Can she find the love she truly wants and deserves? Will it be with Jaimie?

I listened to the audio and the narrator was perfect. If you love second chance romances this one is a perfect beach read.

I love a good second chance romance, and this one really delivered. I enjoyed Mistakes We Never Made, the author's debut. This follow up was even better!
The story had a small "fake dating" piece to it, that I really enjoyed. I loved all of the characters and really enjoyed how the story played out and how everything ended.
I listened to the audiobook version and it was really well done.

I enjoyed listening to Sybil Rain’s journey of love and heartbreak. The author and narration worked well together. I would recommend this audio story.

This story was cute but the story fell flat. The Title is great because it grabs your attention. However, I was hoping for a funny story about a girl who gets herself in all these situations but, alas, it was just a sappy love story. Sybil was just a romantic who said yes to everything and everyone. I didn't love her. Her predicaments were trite and annoying. No one falls into 4 engagements. It made her seem so shallow. What redeemed Sybil's character for me was that she was independent, employed, and had great friends who supported her. But if she was my friend, I don't know that I could keep my opinions to myself.

Thank you to NetGalley, and Thomas Nelson Fiction publishing for this digital advanced reader’s copy and audio copy of this book is exchange for my honest review! All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

Sybil Rain was a really enjoyable romantic comedy. With hints of White Lotus, this was an enjoyable read with some unexpected turns. I liked finding out it was kinda planned for them to be there at the same time. I really wish we had an opportunity to see the character development on page rather than it happening when they are apart. But the slower burn of the re-kindling was fun. The narrator was so good. The voices and expressions were super clear.

if you’re into heartfelt second chance stories, this one delivers. Sybil and Jamie had such a soft, believable connection, and their HEA felt real without dragging things out.

Loved Sybil’s friend group, they added so much warmth. Her growth was messy in the best way.

Thanks to Hachette Audio for the ALC. Cherami Leigh was perfect as Sybil.

If you don’t like the miscommunication trope, this book might not be for you. But if you're into a well done second chance romance, this one delivers. It really reminded me of The Ex Vows.

Sybil and Jamie are just so soft and tender together. I loved them as a couple, and I was so happy they got their HEA. The story felt raw and real, and I appreciated that their time apart wasn’t dragged out too long, it hurt just enough without making me spiral.

I especially loved Sybil’s support system, her girlfriend group was everything. Sybil’s arc was angsty, honest, and full of growth, which made it even more satisfying to read.

Big thanks to Hachette Audio for the ALC. Cherami Leigh absolutely nailed it as Sybil, her performance kept me engaged from start to finish.

The emotion journey of this book WOW

Sybil the cursed bride after 3 failed engagements, while she's having her honeymoon alone a year after her break-up, she ends up meeting 2 of her ex-fiancés, what a luck, will the fourth be her charm, and how the story will shape up through the journey?

The amount of awkwardness that Sybil has to endure throughout the book is enormous and I enjoyed every moment of it. Seriously I wished the ground to swallow me on her behalf every time she meets Jamie and his "sexy colleague".
YEP, again what a luck! at the moment when things getting exciting and good with Jamie of course the second ex-fiancé shows up, I hate miss communication!
From here on welcome to emotion roller-coaster. The secrets and truths unravel OMG!! sweet sybil having this burden all by herself (TEARS). The hate and despise for Liam are incomprehensive. but luckily this is a healing journey for accepting and loving yourself and trusting your partner love the true you.

P.S. Loved the narrator

Thank you NetGalley and Hachette Audio for the eALC of The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain by Hannah Brown narrated by Cherami Leigh!

Sybil Rain heads to the Starling Ranch Inn expecting spa days and umbrella drinks. Instead, she walks straight into her ex-fiancé Jamie and his attractive “colleague.” One lie later, and she’s fake-dating fiancé #2 while dodging memories of fiancé #1. It’s classic rom-com shenanigans, but with a side of heartbreak and history.

The first half is great: flirty, funny, and totally bingeable. Cherami Leigh’s narration is a standout—capturing Sybil’s frantic charm and emotional highs and lows with ease. But when the story starts digging into deeper themes—infertility, miscarriages, emotional abuse, mental health—that’s where it gets tricky. As someone who has personally struggled with infertility, parts of this story were unexpectedly tough to listen to. While I appreciate that these topics were included, they weren’t handled with the nuance or emotional depth they deserved. At times, they felt like backstory rather than lived trauma, and I found myself wishing Sybil had the space (and support) to truly process instead of rushing into yet another engagement. She doesn’t need another effing ring—she needs therapy.

4.5 stars rounded up. Honestly? What can’t Hannah Brown do?
Listen, The miscommunication needles at me, but I do feel like there was a lot of trauma and depth tied to the miscommunication, so it didn’t bother me as much as it usually would. Really really liked this one.

Thank you Forever and Hachette Audio for the advance ebook and advance audiobook.

Once again, I feel so seen by a main character in a contemporary romance book. The story of Sybil Rain and her four engagements is one that I flew through because I felt such connection with the main character, Sybil (even though I’ve only been engaged once).

Often, the narration is make or break for me, and I thought that Cherami Leigh was the perfect narrator for Sybil’s character. I thought she did a great job differentiating the characters and I was completely absorbed in the narration (the best). I thought the production was great. I didn’t have to turn it up some parts and down others, and there were no distracting background noises. Overall, it was a great audio production. I felt completely immersed in the story and flew through it because I enjoyed listening.

Although this book can be a cute, summer read (especially with the setting in Hawaii), it felt like so much more than that to me. I very much just wanted to give Sybil a big hug and let her know that she is valued and loved just as she is. And oh man did I feel that. As someone who always struggled to show up authentically imperfect in relationships, and never had the confidence to be fully me, I felt where Sybil was coming from. Hannah Brown perfectly captured Sybil’s struggle and working through her past to find her footing in the present. I very much appreciated the PCOS representation. As always, check your trigger warnings as this book does touch on infertility, miscarriage, toxic relationships and mental health.

Favorite quote where I felt the most seen and that fully encapsulated several therapy sessions for me:

“I wanted to be perfect for you. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been like this. I’ve always tried so hard to be sparkly and special and at the same time be exactly what my partner wants, and I was doing that with you, too, but I didn’t realize it. I should have just been me. The real me.”

I enjoyed this more than I thought!! It goes deeper than your surface level rom-com, while still bringing the cuteness & comedy one would expect. There’s a good level of personal growth that is a breath of fresh air to see.

Single narration, done well.

This was so cute and fun, definitely a great summer read! It has a very rom-commy feel, and fans of Forgetting Sarah Marshall will find some immediate similarities, to hilarious effect.

Sybil as a character is relatable and fun, it is easy to root for her success and cringe along with her failures. She spends significant time with both Jamie and Sebastian, two ex-fiancées who provide good depth and variety to the story. The flashback stories of her previous relationships also worked very well for the narrative.

The plot is relatively simple in a way that lets Sybil’s character arc shine, and focuses on relationship development between the characters. It was not an overly surprising reveal, but definitely still emotional and meaningful

Full of charm, chaos, and just the right amount of sass, The Four Engagement Rings Of Sybil Rain is like a rom-com come to life — the kind you want to read with your feet in the sand and a cold drink in hand. Sybil’s journey through four ex-fiancés is equal parts messy and hilarious, and I couldn’t help but root for her even when things got totally out of hand. There’s romance, drama, friendship, and just enough emotional depth to keep it from feeling too fluffy. Some moments had me literally laughing out loud, and the flirty banter was spot on. It’s fun, fast, and perfectly beach-bag worthy.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars
Rated R for language, sexual content, and grown-up relationship drama.

Sybil hasn't had the best luck when it comes to relationships. A year after her third engagement ended at the altar, Sybil is convinced by her friends to take the trip that was meant to be her honeymoon. She could use the vacation and it's paid for with the credit from her cancellation a year earlier. The last thing she expects is to find her ex-fiancé has had the same idea. He's at the same resort and they can't seem to stop running into each other.

This was a fun, flirty way to start my summer reading. I loved Sybil's character and the growth she showed throughout all of her relationships. The way the story flashed back to each engagement was very well done. Highly recommend as a summer read!

Thank you to NetGalley, Hachette Audio, and Forever for the ARC of The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain.

I was a bit hesitant to pick this one up because I didn’t *love* Mistakes We Never Made, but I was super intrigued about Sybil’s story we got glimpses of in that one. I’m glad I decided to go ahead with it. I really, really enjoyed the read.

I had the audiobook going while following along in the ebook. The audio was well done. Cherami Leigh’s performance added a depth of emotion and connection to the story. I believe this is the first time I’ve heard her narration and I would not hesitate to pick up another book she narrates in the future. Her different voices were distinguishable and satisfying, and she had a pleasant tone and overall style with her choices.

When it came to the complete story of Sybil and her history of engagements, there was so much more to learn about her than I expected. Her story was told through a mix of chapters set in the present that occasionally shifted to Sybil revisiting past events but also with three specific chapters recalling each engagement. At times when the timeline Sybil was existing in would shift mid-chapter, it took me a bit to catch up, but ultimately it all ended up revealing important pieces of her past in an effective way. That said, I may have wanted to shake Sybil sometimes and tell everyone they needed to learn to communicate better.

I got some “love triangle” vibes from the synopsis that I was slightly nervous about since it’s one of my least favorite tropes, but I ended up really appreciating the way everything played out. It became clear to me early on that it wasn’t *really* going to be a love triangle, but the relationships needed to be explored the way they were to get to where they were supposed to be. It was very well done.

There seemed to be a hint of a potential third book for the “Core Four” and I’m definitely intrigued about what could come in that way. Thank you to Forever and Hachette Audio via NetGalley for the eARC and ALC respectively in exchange for an honest review.

This was actually so cute. I won't lie, I almost quit reading a few chapters in. It didn't really read like a book, more of a diary, and I wasn't really vibing. However, I stuck with it, and it picked up. Still a bit slow, but once it started reading more like a story, I really enjoyed it. It REALLY picked up once Sebastian entered lol.

I have loved Hannah Brown since she was the bachelorette. I think this book added to my love for her. Yes, it was slow at the start, but the way the story played out was so sweet. A heartwarming second chance romance that was the perfect start to summer.

The audio was also very well read! I think that helped a lot with my reading. I had started with physically reading, but once I was able to listen, it picked up. Cherami Leigh did such a great job reading. She really brought the emotion needed in the tough parts. She was easy to listen to, and I cannot wait to find more books she reads for!
