if you’re into heartfelt second chance stories, this one delivers. Sybil and Jamie had such a soft, believable connection, and their HEA felt real without dragging things out.
Loved Sybil’s friend group, they added so much warmth. Her growth was messy in the best way.
Thanks to Hachette Audio for the ALC. Cherami Leigh was perfect as Sybil.

If you don’t like the miscommunication trope, this book might not be for you. But if you're into a well done second chance romance, this one delivers. It really reminded me of The Ex Vows.
Sybil and Jamie are just so soft and tender together. I loved them as a couple, and I was so happy they got their HEA. The story felt raw and real, and I appreciated that their time apart wasn’t dragged out too long, it hurt just enough without making me spiral.
I especially loved Sybil’s support system, her girlfriend group was everything. Sybil’s arc was angsty, honest, and full of growth, which made it even more satisfying to read.
Big thanks to Hachette Audio for the ALC. Cherami Leigh absolutely nailed it as Sybil, her performance kept me engaged from start to finish.

The emotion journey of this book WOW
Sybil the cursed bride after 3 failed engagements, while she's having her honeymoon alone a year after her break-up, she ends up meeting 2 of her ex-fiancés, what a luck, will the fourth be her charm, and how the story will shape up through the journey?
The amount of awkwardness that Sybil has to endure throughout the book is enormous and I enjoyed every moment of it. Seriously I wished the ground to swallow me on her behalf every time she meets Jamie and his "sexy colleague".
YEP, again what a luck! at the moment when things getting exciting and good with Jamie of course the second ex-fiancé shows up, I hate miss communication!
From here on welcome to emotion roller-coaster. The secrets and truths unravel OMG!! sweet sybil having this burden all by herself (TEARS). The hate and despise for Liam are incomprehensive. but luckily this is a healing journey for accepting and loving yourself and trusting your partner love the true you.
P.S. Loved the narrator

Thank you NetGalley and Hachette Audio for the eALC of The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain by Hannah Brown narrated by Cherami Leigh!
Sybil Rain heads to the Starling Ranch Inn expecting spa days and umbrella drinks. Instead, she walks straight into her ex-fiancé Jamie and his attractive “colleague.” One lie later, and she’s fake-dating fiancé #2 while dodging memories of fiancé #1. It’s classic rom-com shenanigans, but with a side of heartbreak and history.
The first half is great: flirty, funny, and totally bingeable. Cherami Leigh’s narration is a standout—capturing Sybil’s frantic charm and emotional highs and lows with ease. But when the story starts digging into deeper themes—infertility, miscarriages, emotional abuse, mental health—that’s where it gets tricky. As someone who has personally struggled with infertility, parts of this story were unexpectedly tough to listen to. While I appreciate that these topics were included, they weren’t handled with the nuance or emotional depth they deserved. At times, they felt like backstory rather than lived trauma, and I found myself wishing Sybil had the space (and support) to truly process instead of rushing into yet another engagement. She doesn’t need another effing ring—she needs therapy.

4.5 stars rounded up. Honestly? What can’t Hannah Brown do?
Listen, The miscommunication needles at me, but I do feel like there was a lot of trauma and depth tied to the miscommunication, so it didn’t bother me as much as it usually would. Really really liked this one.

Thank you Forever and Hachette Audio for the advance ebook and advance audiobook.
Once again, I feel so seen by a main character in a contemporary romance book. The story of Sybil Rain and her four engagements is one that I flew through because I felt such connection with the main character, Sybil (even though I’ve only been engaged once).
Often, the narration is make or break for me, and I thought that Cherami Leigh was the perfect narrator for Sybil’s character. I thought she did a great job differentiating the characters and I was completely absorbed in the narration (the best). I thought the production was great. I didn’t have to turn it up some parts and down others, and there were no distracting background noises. Overall, it was a great audio production. I felt completely immersed in the story and flew through it because I enjoyed listening.
Although this book can be a cute, summer read (especially with the setting in Hawaii), it felt like so much more than that to me. I very much just wanted to give Sybil a big hug and let her know that she is valued and loved just as she is. And oh man did I feel that. As someone who always struggled to show up authentically imperfect in relationships, and never had the confidence to be fully me, I felt where Sybil was coming from. Hannah Brown perfectly captured Sybil’s struggle and working through her past to find her footing in the present. I very much appreciated the PCOS representation. As always, check your trigger warnings as this book does touch on infertility, miscarriage, toxic relationships and mental health.

Favorite quote where I felt the most seen and that fully encapsulated several therapy sessions for me:
“I wanted to be perfect for you. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been like this. I’ve always tried so hard to be sparkly and special and at the same time be exactly what my partner wants, and I was doing that with you, too, but I didn’t realize it. I should have just been me. The real me.”

I enjoyed this more than I thought!! It goes deeper than your surface level rom-com, while still bringing the cuteness & comedy one would expect. There’s a good level of personal growth that is a breath of fresh air to see.
Single narration, done well.

This was so cute and fun, definitely a great summer read! It has a very rom-commy feel, and fans of Forgetting Sarah Marshall will find some immediate similarities, to hilarious effect.
Sybil as a character is relatable and fun, it is easy to root for her success and cringe along with her failures. She spends significant time with both Jamie and Sebastian, two ex-fiancées who provide good depth and variety to the story. The flashback stories of her previous relationships also worked very well for the narrative.
The plot is relatively simple in a way that lets Sybil’s character arc shine, and focuses on relationship development between the characters. It was not an overly surprising reveal, but definitely still emotional and meaningful

Full of charm, chaos, and just the right amount of sass, The Four Engagement Rings Of Sybil Rain is like a rom-com come to life — the kind you want to read with your feet in the sand and a cold drink in hand. Sybil’s journey through four ex-fiancés is equal parts messy and hilarious, and I couldn’t help but root for her even when things got totally out of hand. There’s romance, drama, friendship, and just enough emotional depth to keep it from feeling too fluffy. Some moments had me literally laughing out loud, and the flirty banter was spot on. It’s fun, fast, and perfectly beach-bag worthy.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars
Rated R for language, sexual content, and grown-up relationship drama.

Sybil hasn't had the best luck when it comes to relationships. A year after her third engagement ended at the altar, Sybil is convinced by her friends to take the trip that was meant to be her honeymoon. She could use the vacation and it's paid for with the credit from her cancellation a year earlier. The last thing she expects is to find her ex-fiancé has had the same idea. He's at the same resort and they can't seem to stop running into each other.
This was a fun, flirty way to start my summer reading. I loved Sybil's character and the growth she showed throughout all of her relationships. The way the story flashed back to each engagement was very well done. Highly recommend as a summer read!
Thank you to NetGalley, Hachette Audio, and Forever for the ARC of The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain.

I was a bit hesitant to pick this one up because I didn’t *love* Mistakes We Never Made, but I was super intrigued about Sybil’s story we got glimpses of in that one. I’m glad I decided to go ahead with it. I really, really enjoyed the read.
I had the audiobook going while following along in the ebook. The audio was well done. Cherami Leigh’s performance added a depth of emotion and connection to the story. I believe this is the first time I’ve heard her narration and I would not hesitate to pick up another book she narrates in the future. Her different voices were distinguishable and satisfying, and she had a pleasant tone and overall style with her choices.
When it came to the complete story of Sybil and her history of engagements, there was so much more to learn about her than I expected. Her story was told through a mix of chapters set in the present that occasionally shifted to Sybil revisiting past events but also with three specific chapters recalling each engagement. At times when the timeline Sybil was existing in would shift mid-chapter, it took me a bit to catch up, but ultimately it all ended up revealing important pieces of her past in an effective way. That said, I may have wanted to shake Sybil sometimes and tell everyone they needed to learn to communicate better.
I got some “love triangle” vibes from the synopsis that I was slightly nervous about since it’s one of my least favorite tropes, but I ended up really appreciating the way everything played out. It became clear to me early on that it wasn’t *really* going to be a love triangle, but the relationships needed to be explored the way they were to get to where they were supposed to be. It was very well done.
There seemed to be a hint of a potential third book for the “Core Four” and I’m definitely intrigued about what could come in that way. Thank you to Forever and Hachette Audio via NetGalley for the eARC and ALC respectively in exchange for an honest review.

This was actually so cute. I won't lie, I almost quit reading a few chapters in. It didn't really read like a book, more of a diary, and I wasn't really vibing. However, I stuck with it, and it picked up. Still a bit slow, but once it started reading more like a story, I really enjoyed it. It REALLY picked up once Sebastian entered lol.
I have loved Hannah Brown since she was the bachelorette. I think this book added to my love for her. Yes, it was slow at the start, but the way the story played out was so sweet. A heartwarming second chance romance that was the perfect start to summer.
The audio was also very well read! I think that helped a lot with my reading. I had started with physically reading, but once I was able to listen, it picked up. Cherami Leigh did such a great job reading. She really brought the emotion needed in the tough parts. She was easy to listen to, and I cannot wait to find more books she reads for!

I have a lot of mixed feelings about this one. The premise is fun and engaging -- being stuck on a luxurious holiday with not one, but two ex-fiancees. It's fun, flirty, and made me keep wanting to read. The problems really start with the deeper issues the books tries to tackle: infertility, miscarriages, trauma, abusive relationships, mental health.
***SPOILERS***
While fun and engaging, I just kept balking at the level of decisions that were being made back to back in one night. After being propositioned by not one, but two of her ex-fiancees in one night, after being stranded in a horrible storm, after an ex-fiancee/friend almost dying and needed to get air lifted out, after realizing that Sybil has not gotten over some of her previous trauma and doing a lot of self-reflection, this is the time to make huge life decisions? I can understand getting swept away with so many emotions, but the girl is in a state. It just feels a little gross for Jamie to be having sex with her in the setting. AND they don't even know if Seb is okay. Just no.
It is so clear that Sybil needs so much therapy. She has not worked through her prior issues that have been standing in the way of her relationships. She has not worked through her prior trauma. She has not worked through her guilt over previous miscarriages and possible infertility (and as someone who has infertility, I did not think the book tackled this subject well). SHE NEEDS THERAPY. She does not need to jump back in and get engaged again immediately. Sure, I'm all on board with Sybil and Jamie getting back together and supporting each other through change and growth. Having sex and getting engaged in the midst of all this is falling back into the old problems and does not show character growth. Huge red flags. Plus, after all of this, not having Jamie text to say that he made it to the airport, that he landed? Please. If that was me. Goodbye. These huge romantic gestures do not account for Sybil and her feelings. Ugh. Nope.
***SPOILERS***
Did I keep turning the pages to know what would happen? Yes, absolutely. Did it the final scenes sit well with me? Absolutely not.
I listened to the audiobook ARC at 1.75x speed. Overall good quality, pleasant voice. I do hate when audiobooks add music or jingles at the beginning and end because of the often 2x speed. But that is just me.
Thank you to NetGalley and Forever for this ARC in exchange for an honest rest.

I think this is a great summer read. It’s fun and easy, perfect for relaxing by the pool or or beach. I’ve now read two books by Hannah Brown and really enjoyed this one. I’m excited to read more from her in the future.
The book is narrated by Cherami Leigh. She has a sweet and soothing voice that makes for an enjoyable listening experience.

The Audiobook is Out On the 24th JUNE 2025
Starling Ranch Inn promises to be a tropical paradise, and Sybil can’t wait to escape there, all expenses paid. Well technically the expenses were paid last year, when she was supposed to go to Hawaii for her honeymoon with her then-fiancé Jamie.
But the wedding didn’t go as planned (or at all), and now she’s decided to use those hotel vouchers alone, before they expire.
Sybil’s expecting mai tais, med spas and me-time, so she nearly plunges backwards into the infinity pool when she sees that Jamie has had the same idea!

The voice of Cherami Leigh really brings this world to life for me. The story hit the notes between adulting and not wanting to face your fears. It had me in tears in parts, so I would say that you need to have your tissues to hand when you start this process of diving into the world.

I LOVED this book! I thought it would be a great summer read for this nice summer day. I didn’t expect to finish it today as I had a few errands to run. Well, errands be damned! I couldn’t let this story go. It was such a cozy summer romance that kept me intrigued and trying to understand Sybil’s trauma (because there was definitely trauma with all these failed engagements).
Thank goodness Sybil had a group of friends to love her unconditionally. They were truly the MVPs in my book. Everyone deserves girlfriends (or at least one) like them. With all of the internal conflict that Sybil endured, her girlfriends were essential. They stuck with her through it all even though they had their own lives to live.
I loved the array of tropes that Hannah Brown used to build this story. With tropes constantly emerging as the story developed, I was anxious to see how she would resolve them all. She did with such ease!

The writing of this book was absolutely beautiful, descriptive and easy to follow. It certainly had me hooked from the beginning. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a cozy sweet summer read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you NetGalley and Hatchett Audio for audiobook ARC. The quality was great and the narrator was perfect!

This was a lot of fun! When I started, I thought it was going to end up feeling like Mama Mia, but it was much much better than that. Toward the beginning Sybil felt a little childish at times and it annoyed me, but I grew to absolutely love her and her journey. The way the story unfolds in both the present timeline and the anecdotes of the past is really perfect.
The narrator was perfect for this story. Her voice matches the personality and vibes of Sybil. She is funny and changes her tone perfectly to fit the times Sybil is frantic or freaking out. She really embodies the character and was so fun to listen to.

I absolutely loved "The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain" and devoured it in a single day! From the very first chapter, I was hooked by Sibyl's chaotic charm and deeply relatable outlook on love, life, and all the messy bits in between. Her internal monologues were equal parts hilarious and heartfelt, adding so much depth to be her character and making her feel like someone I could easily be friends with in real life. The story was easy to fall into and hard to put down.
The audiobook narration by Cherami Leigh was perfection - she brought Sibyl's story to life in a way that made the whole thing feel like one long (and very enjoyable) Facetime call with an old friend catching me up on the drama. It added such a warm, intimate layer to the experience, and i genuinely didn't want it to end.
This was the perfect blend of humor, heart, and just enough chaos to keep things fun. A fantastic read (or listen) for anyone who loves character-driven contemporary fiction with a big heart.

This story had a fun and original premise—four engagement rings, four potential futures, and one woman trying to figure out who she is and what she really wants. There were moments of humor, charm, and introspection that made the journey enjoyable, and Sybil’s voice was engaging throughout.
However, the execution didn’t fully live up to the potential. Some plotlines felt rushed or underdeveloped, and the pacing was uneven at times. While the concept invited emotional depth, the relationships and resolutions didn’t always feel fully earned. A few characters seemed more like plot devices than real people, which made it harder to get invested in the outcomes.
Overall, it’s a creative and entertaining read with some strong moments, but it didn’t quite stick the landing for me. Worth a try if you enjoy character-driven stories with a touch of romantic chaos.

Thank you Hachette Audio, Forever & NetGalley for the eARC/ALC in exchange for my honest review!
4.5 stars!
First and foremost - this book definitely deserves a content warning for mention of past abusive relationships, fertility issues (including miscarriage) & mention of PCOS. While these topics are brushed upon (some mentioned more than others), I know they can be potentially triggering for some folks in any capacity.
This is the first book I've read by Hannah Brown and I thoroughly enjoyed it! This book heavily leans into the miscommunication trope (which is usually not my favorite) but Hannah made this work really well. The tropical setting of being stuck at a resort (with not one BUT TWO of your ex-fiancés) is less than ideal but it was so, so enjoyable to read. Sybil was such an interesting & whimsical character who had real flaws, her character growth throughout the book was written really well. I was really rooting for Sybil & Jamie at the end, they made me laugh AND cry. Overall an enjoyable summer read.
Cherami Leigh narrated this book beautifully - her performance was engaging and truly a delight to listen to! If you have the chance to listen to this I highly recommend.
