Being that I watched Hannah Browns season of the bachelorette I LOVED being able to see characters in her mind come to life !
In the second book of essentially a stand alone series we get to explore Sybil Rains love story , or is it the lack there of ? It was great getting to experience the core 4 again from each of their unique POVS they offer the main character through her journey reflecting on her various engagements.
You know a book is good when even your husband is following … and he’s he was indeed invested. Looking forward to hearing the other girls stories and what Hannah cooks up for us next!

I really enjoyed Hannah Brown's Debut "Mistakes We Never Made" earlier this year and was thrilled to get the opportunity to listen to this newest book of hers! I did really enjoy the storyline but for some reason I could not stand the FMC, her and I would not be friends in real life. I'm happy she was able to grow and have this journey, but her communication skills are THE WORST, and it frustrated me to no end. I can't wait to see what else Hannah Brown has in store!

Soooo… she’s a liar
Tropes:
Runaway Bride
Forced Proximity
Fake Boyfriend

To be proposed to 4 times is wild. To runaway the fourth time… girl leave these men alone.

I found it very hard to root for the FMC as she is just a liar and continues to tell half truths throughout the book. This read very much manic behavior and self absorbed. “Everyone loves Sybil”.

I will never understand the fake boyfriend trope to save face. I get it a plot device the leads to all of shenanigans buts the trope just isn’t for me.

I will say I listen and read the physical boo. Thank the audio because without it I probably would have DNF it.

Most would have gotten excited about the intro of the first fiancée but I got annoyed after all the build up James. This just wasn’t for me.

Overall, this was a fun book! I enjoyed all the fun and surprises that Sybil came across. However it felt like almost too much was going on, and the author just kept adding things on.

Thank you to Net Galley, Hannah Brown & the publisher for this early audio copy of the book. I absolutely adored this book. Sybil was such a fun and complex character and I loved learning about her story and all her various past relationships and how they shaped her into who she was. I always love a good second chance romance and I was eating this one up! I loved watching her and Jamie come back together! The summer vibes in this were immaculate, I now want to go book a Hawaiian vacation ASAP. Could not recommend this more.

This was super cute! At first I wasn’t sure of the narrator but she grew on me and I liked the audio a lot!! It was a sweet romance story and I loved the flashbacks. I don’t feel like I have too much to say, it was a romcom, it was very well done, and I loved it!

A fun, if a bit chaotic, summer beach read.

*Second chance romance
*Forced proximity
*Fake Dating
*Dual Timeline (I'm a big fan)

I'm not sure how I feel about the narration. There was just something about the tone that didn't sit quite right with me. However, I enjoyed the book. Definitely a personal preference issue and not a performance issue on the narrator's part.

I absolutely devoured this book. The narrator was fantastic as well. I really enjoyed reading about Sybil and listening from her point of view. Huge props with the PCOS representation and the challenges that come with it. So many women will be able to relate to Sybil’s struggle. I loved how we went back and forth between past and present, and Sybil’s ability to grow and evolve through her different eras. Will definitely be recommending to all my friends!

The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain
By: Hannah Brown

- FMC goes on a solo trip only to run into 2 of her 3 ex-fiancés
- second chance romance
- fake dating
- strong friend group
- self discovery + healing

This book was so cute & the plot was original! Sybil Rain has been engaged 3 times so she goes on a solo trip to rediscover herself & heal (& for a work project). While on her trip, she first runs into Jamie, her most recent ex-fiancé. Then, just as Sybil begins to question her feelings for Jamie, she runs into her second ex-fiancé, Sebastian. Will she fall for one of these men or find someone new?

The narrator was great and added personality to the characters!

Content/trigger warnings: grief, loss of a parent, broken engagements, miscarriage, PCOS/endometriosis, difficult family dynamics

Thank you to NetGalley & the author for access to this ARC in return for my honest review!

The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain was a fun listen! I didn't realize that this book was a sequel (loosely) when I requested the ALC, but I don't think I missed anything by jumping in at book two. Sybil is a total free spirit that deserves all the love and more. Learning about her relationships with Jamie and Sebastian helped create a full picture of who Sybil is and how she has grown throughout her relationships. I went from rooting for her to be in one relationship to the other as I learned more about everything she went to and who would be the best fit for her needs. I do wish that there had been some component of Sybil getting some real help. I think she needed therapy to try to unpack some of her past traumas, especially with her first real high school relationship. As someone who was in a similarly controlling relationship as a teenager, I know I personally needed to work through everything that happened with a professional before I was able to have a healthy relationship with my now husband. But regardless, I was happy to see that she was able to move on from her past and become a happy, successful adult.

Cherami Leigh was the perfect narrator for this story. Something about her voice is just the perfect whimsical sound for the free spirit that is Sybil.

Thank you to Hannah Brown, Hachette Audio, and NetGalley for a copy of the audiobook!

Overall, I did enjoy this story. It was pleasant to listen to and included some meaningful elements. However, I didn’t love it. I found myself wishing the plot had focused more on Sybil’s personal journey, rather than centering so heavily on the men in her life.

I really wanted to see more of Sybil’s character growth. It felt like much of that development had already happened before the book even started, and I would have loved to experience that journey with her. The few growth-related plot points that were discussed came very late in the story and felt rushed, as if they were added in as an afterthought with an “oh hey, by the way” tone, especially with them happening before the story even happened. Introducing those elements earlier could have given them far more emotional impact.

Her relationship with Jamie, in particular, felt premature. I think their physical connection happened too soon, before Jamie had shown enough emotional growth or commitment. As it is, I honestly don’t see them lasting as a couple.

That said, I really appreciated the inclusion of endometriosis and infertility representation. It’s an important and rarely addressed topic. The emotional weight of possibly not being able to have children was especially moving and something I could personally relate to.

Spice level: Mild
Story: Interesting
Character Growth: Medium
Plot Progression: Ok
Writing Style: Entertaining but a little too descriptive at times, unnecessarily.

***THIS REVIEW HAS SPOILERS***

This was an interesting story and definitely not what I expected based on the title. That being said, I really enjoyed it. I was definitely expecting a fake relationship to save face with her ex-fiancé that turned into a new engagement but I liked that this was different and she ends up back with her ex. Definitely my new favorite version of a second chance romance.

My only issue is that there were no potential TW listed at the beginning. As someone who struggled with infertility and then pregnancy loss, I appreciate when there's a warning at the beginning so I know to be prepared.

The narrator was wonderful and did a great job of bringing life to Sybil's character.

idn’t know what to expect going into The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain because this was my first read by Hannah Brown, but I absolutely loved it! I adored Sybil’s character and found her totally relatable and appreciated the juxtaposition between all of Sybil’s past fiancés. They were all so different, yet made sense for her at the time. I can’t wait to read more from Hannah going forward!

I've realized this is not the author for me, or the type of romance I prefer to read about as I thought this was cringey. If I wasn't listening to this on audiobook, I think I would have dnf'd this. Sybil was a very annoying and somewhat entitled main character to read about.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5/5 stars
"The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain" by Hannah Brown

Okay, I am SMITTEN. This book was the romcom summer read my heart didn’t know it desperately needed. From the very first chapter, I was rooting so hard for Sybil—our sweet, chaotic, lovable heroine who really just wants to be loved in a way that feels safe, secure, and real. And wow, did Hannah Brown deliver on the emotional rollercoaster, the swoony moments, and the laugh-out-loud chaos.

Let’s talk tropes, because Hannah gave us ALL the good ones:
💍 We’re-never-getting-back-together (but totally do) — check.
👰‍♀️ Runaway bride — YES and so perfectly done.
🎭 Fake dating — deliciously awkward and charming.
🏖️ Forced proximity on a honeymoon-for-one — um, yes please.

I mean…come on. How could I not fall in love?

Sybil’s journey was such a beautiful one to watch unfold. Her anxiety, her past with a toxic ex (ugh, Liam, good riddance), her complicated relationship with her family—it all felt so raw and real. I felt younger me in her. That ache to be seen, to be understood, to be loved without conditions. And Hannah did an amazing job weaving in serious topics like anxiety, PCOS, and domestic violence with sensitivity and strength. Sybil advocating for herself (and her younger self!) had me absolutely beaming with pride. She did things backward—and honestly? Who cares! It was HER path. Watching her bloom was honestly inspiring.

Now let’s talk Jamie—Prince Charming with just enough stubbornness to make me want to shake him, but also swoon? Yep. Their chemistry was undeniable, but they just couldn’t see it at first, which made the payoff even better (thank you to book number two for answering my questions from book one!). And don’t even get me started on Seb. Golden retriever energy in human form. Just…chaotic good. We love him and what he did for Sybil.

The girl gang cheering Sybil on to go on the honeymoon? Iconic. True queens. The honeymoon setting itself? So vivid and picturesque I swear I could smell the ocean breeze and feel the sun on my skin. I want to go there, wherever that was, immediately.

On the flipside: Jamie’s family? BIG ICK. Except Grandma. Grandma was doing the Lord’s work. And Sybil’s parents…ugh. Dismissing her feelings, her mental health, her path? No thanks. But again, I’m SO proud of how she stood tall and found her voice.

And finally, a little love letter to Hannah Brown: I’ve been a fan since Bachelor Nation days, but seeing her shine as an author? She’s found her lane. Her books are heartfelt, fun, layered, and empowering. This isn’t just a cute romcom (though it totally is cute)—it’s a story with depth, with purpose, and with heart. And I’ll happily read everything she writes.

Can’t wait for the next one. 💖

The characters were shallow and lacked depth. There was a lot trauma and mess for one book. It just was not a favorite for me.

Thanks for the advanced audio copy!

This is a cute summer RomCom. I listened to this one and the narration is easy to follow. This is a great one to listen to while doing other things. The story itself is fun -- the running into your ex on vacation trope x 2.

Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced listener copy!

I loved this book!! I loved the personalities of each character and the whole arc that Sybil went on. I was rooting for her the whole time and I was actually very pleasantly surprised at the writing too. Would highly recommend!!

I didn’t know what I was expecting from this author, which may have been associated with her being a reality TV star, but I really really enjoyed this book. I thought Sybil had so much depth and the opportunity to reflect on her past and failed engagements with her was enjoyable and interesting. I think this audiobook narrator did a wonderful job of capturing all of the emotions that Sybil was going through and I would definitely recommend the audiobook.

My qualm with the book is that the resolution came very quickly and felt like more needed to happen on page. That being said, I had a great time. a solid four stars.

Thank you to NetGalley annd Hachette audio for this digital audiobook arc in exchange for my honest opinion.

It was a sweet story with unexpected depth and summer vibes.

I listened to the audiobook and I really enjoyed it. I loved the narrator and her voice, it truly made the experience better. She carried the story beautifully.

The story starts when Sybil decides to use the vouchers leftover from her wedding a year ago, a wedding that never happened. What's more perfect than a vacation in Hawaii. Except, her ex-fiancee Jamie is there too, with a female coworker. Trying to save face, Sybil lies she's there with her boyfriend. There's still things unresolved between them and when the situation starts to heat up, Seb enters the picture. Her second ex-fiancee, willing to pretend to be her fake boyfriend. Complications arise, wounds bleed anew, especially the ones her first fiancee left. With three rings from three different guys, will there be a fourth?

I really liked the story, full of vulnerability and self exploration. While there is miscommunication, which Itend to find incredibly frustrating, I do think, ultimately, it made sense. There needed to be growth first.
Second chance romances don't always work, but this one did. Sometimes being apart is the only way to grow together. Work on yourself to work on eachotehr.

The setting was absolutely beautiful, it gave me all the summer vibes. The beach, snorkeling, horseback riding, pool and cocktails and a summer storm..

I really liked the characters, both the main and the secondary ones. They all made the story compelling in their own way. Sybil's journey was heartbreaking, but hopeful. Her fight to heal the scars she carried and the fear that ruled her life, was slow, but important. I love how she found her strength and the love she deserves in the end.

I know Hannah from her season on the Bachelorette, but had no idea she was an author until recently. I really enjoyed her writing, I think she did an amazing job.

Thank you to Netgalley and to Hachette Audio for providing me with an ARC
