I recently listened to "The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain" by Hannah Brown, and I'm so glad I did! Although it's the second book in the series, I didn't feel lost without reading the first one, and it definitely made me want to go back and read the first installment.

This book follows Sybil as she navigates a chance encounter with not one, but two of her ex-fiancés at the stunning Starling Ranch Inn in Hawaii. What unfolds is a heartwarming and relatable exploration of love, growth, and self-discovery.

One thing that struck me was the abundance of miscommunication between Sybil and Jamie, her most recent ex-fiancé. It's clear that if they had just talked things through, they might have avoided so much heartache. However, their journey apart allows them to grow as individuals, and Sybil's personal growth is truly inspiring.

I appreciated how Sybil's story tackled the complexities of love and relationships. Her experiences felt authentic and relatable, making it easy to become invested in her journey.

As for Sybil's ex-fiancés, I had mixed feelings. Liam, the first ex, was easy to dislike, given his role in Sybil's past trauma. Seb, the charming but non-committal ex, was likable enough, but Jamie grew on me as the story progressed.

The audio narration by Cherami Leigh was enjoyable, and I thought her voice matched Sybil's character perfectly. However, I wished there were male narrators for the men in the book, as it would have added to the immersive experience.

Overall, "The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain" is a super cute summer time read, perfect for a beach trip or a warm summer day. The Hawaiian setting had me craving an island getaway!

Sybil has been engaged 3 times! While she thought the last time would be the last, her fiance's family thought Sybil was not at a level to be accepted into the family. At the alter, Jamie (the fiance) decides to let Sybil go. One year later, Sybil decides to use her vouchers for her honeymoon She doesn't expect Jamie to also use his vouchers, as well. They both end up in tropical Hawaii together and realize their mistaken thoughts about each other. No one expects that they use this as a second chance for love.

I enjoyed listening to this audiobook. I read Hannah Brown's first book, and I felt listening to her second book was more comfortable. I enjoyed the chemistry between the two characters! The reader had a great performance of the literature!

Sweet, easy listen! The storyline was fun and a little unpredictable. It wasn't immediately clear that the 4th engagement would be to the same person as engagement number 3. I cheered for Jaime from the start and wanted Sybil's character to find happiness. 4 star read for me! Great job, Hannah Brown!

The Narrator - Cherami Leigh was perfect for the story, one of my favourite narrators to date. She did a great job instilling emotion into her reading at all the right points.
This sophmore book from Hannah Brown was significantly better than the first novel in the series (Mistakes We Never Made), the storyline and the characters were more developed and complete and the dialogue a lot more realistic. As with many romance novels some of the logical reasoning is a bit lost, or seem like certain issues are being blown out of proportion - but as the story went on you realized there were more layers and justifications to some of the big reactions and emotions, plus the FMC self-proclaims to have big emotions and a tendency to spiral.
I am not always a fan of a slow burn or second chance romance, but I did really enjoy this one, especially with the beautiful Hawaiian backdrop, and some great use of flashbacks.

I really enjoyed Mistakes We Never Made (MWNM) and squealed a little when I saw I was approved for an ALC of The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain. I devoured this audiobook in one day. I really loved getting to know Sybil and learning what really happened at her failed wedding to Jamie in MWNM. I liked how we got the backstory behind each of her engagement rings. In MWNM, we meet a Sybil that appears as somewhat aloof and flakey, but this book really dove into her story and showed us a fantastic character arc. Sometimes second chance romances aren't my cup of tea, but this one felt natural and heartwarming.

This was the first book I read by Hannah Brown and I have to say, I loved it! It was nice to see Sybil in the present as well as going back through her previous engagements from start to finish. It was nice to see where the love stories started and what ended them It also really painted a picture how different each engagement was and how they shaped her into who she currently is. The fact that it takes place at a resort in Hawaii so she can’t escape Jamie is so much fun. I love a forced proximity trope. My only problem was differentiating Sybil’s friends. I’ll be honest, I still don’t know the different between Emma and Willow. This could partly be because I listened to the book on audio so I couldn’t re-read to figure out who was who. Overall I loved this book and give it 5/5 stars.

This was a cozy fun easy listen well narrated and overall a pleasant getaway from overly attention related or anything that just isn’t fun & easy!

Sybil had experienced her share of failed relationships particularly engagements so when her latest marriage didn’t go ahead with Jamie one from her friend group of four managed to talk her into using her honeymoon holiday vouchers to go to the resort anyway before they ran out!

Along the way Sybil runs into more than she bargained for whilst hoping for a nice relaxing trip with a little bit of working promotional activity. She quite literally runs into the latest ex fiancé Jamie and the one before him Seb too just to add to her angst!

How will it all end does she end up walking away alone or with any of her ex finances or someone completely different?

The audiobook was very well done for this book. The voice fit what I felt Sybil Rain would sound like. I listen at 2x the pace and the reader still was easily understandable in the faster pace.

It was a cute beach read but it felt like there were pieces missing at times. I felt like it was a story that I've read before. I was hoping for more in it especially because at times I felt like Sybil got on my nerves.


I was fortunately given an ALC of this audiobook from Hachette audio and NetGalley. The audio was well done and the narrator fit Sybil Rain's personality well especially in the breakdowns.

This is such a great paradise summer read because it is set in Hawaii! We dive into this book a year after the first book in this series. The story is about Sybil and Jaime reliving memories a year after they were supposed to be married. We spend a week in Hawaii with these two, watching them continuously run into each other and work through their lingering feelings for each other. When Sybil sees he’s at the resort with his attractive female coworker, she lies about being there with her boyfriend so she doesn’t feel like such a loner at being at the location where they would’ve had their honeymoon. As the story goes they rediscover each other and how they’ve each changed in the year they’ve spent apart since he left her at the alter. They come to find out maybe they needed time apart to grow out of their fears and into embracing who they truly are.
It’s a fun story going back to her previous relationships and seeing what worked and what didn’t. What I loved about this couples love/relationship is they allow room for the other to grow and be themselves. What I didn’t love about this couple was the fear they allowed to take control of themselves and in doing so ended a relationship they both wanted so badly.
I enjoy Hannah Brown as an author and have enjoyed both of her romance books! Will continue reading her books!

Wow. This was a 5 star book for me. Is it because I’ve been the ultimate HB fan from her Bachelor/Bachelorette days? YES. Do I devour anything and everything that she writes? Also yes.

Sybil Rain has been through the wringer when it comes to finding her happily ever after. From a very young age, she knew that she wanted to find her true love and be married. Her journey to find that as well as her self love journey… wow. So relatable for many reasons. I connected with Sybil not only on a finding myself journey but also with the PCOS and unknown fertility journey. The narration for this book was wonderful as well. It felt like hearing a story from a friend.

This was a fun sophomore novel from Hannah Brown. I read the first as well, which was a good bit of fun, but I found this one more engagement. It was a fairly predictable, low stress, summer romance, which is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks to Netgalley for the review copy.

if you know me, you know i’m a longtime fan of the force that is hannah brown. i’ve loved her on every show she’s done and was an original listener of her podcast. i was so interested in sybil when i read mistakes we never made, so when hannah announced she was getting her own book, i was beyond excited.

this book was, without a doubt, five stars for me. i am a sybil rain supporter and defender forever.

this story went so much deeper than i expected and made me feel so intensely for sybil. this book covers panic attacks, PCOS, and pregnancy loss, all of which are discussed with both compassion and seriousness.

the romantic aspect was so much fun. i loved getting the backstories on sybil and her three ex-fiancés plus then hanging out with jamie and seb in the present! the way these characters represented the different phases of sybil was really well done. throughout the book, i fell hard for jamie. there was a lot of miscommunication throughout his and sybil’s relationship, but i felt like the growth they experienced apart allowed them to develop a new love with potential to flourish. they really are meant to be — they just needed to take the time to listen, understand, and accept each other for who they are. their relationship redemption arc kept me on the edge of my toes and i was rooting for sybiljamie endgame so hard.

cherami leigh does a phenomenal job narrating and embracing the sparkles and dull moments of the one and only sybil rain, making me love her character even more. the audio is really fantastic. the sound is so clear and there is no fuzz or outside noise. the narration encapsulates the moments as they happen through emphasis and intonation. i loved listening and would 10/10 recommend.

This was a super quick second chance romance — which is absolutely my favorite trope. I loved getting to know Sybil’s back story and what led to each engagement. It was so fun to throw in a little fake dating too. I knew Seb was going to be involved somehow but couldn’t figure out how. I also loved that our two main characters showed so much growth throughout the story.

I listened to the audiobook and loved it! This narrator did a fantastic job.

This charming, beachy romance blends second-chance love, fake dating, and a well-handled miscommunication trope into a fun, heartfelt story perfect for summer. Sybil is a likable, free-spirited lead whose journey—from heartbreak to healing—is both funny and deeply emotional.

After being left at the altar, she takes herself (and her unused honeymoon vouchers) to Hawaii, only to run into both of her ex-fiancés. As old insecurities resurface, Sybil is forced to confront her past and consider what she truly wants from her future.

The book balances rom-com laughs with emotional depth, and the character development is a standout. I really enjoyed this book—it was such an engaging mix of heart and humor. While the miscommunication trope drove me a little nuts at times, it also felt realistic and true to the characters' emotional journeys. It wasn’t just thrown in for drama; it made sense in the context of their pasts and personal growth, which made the resolution that much more satisfying.

I received an ALC copy for this and LOVED the narrator as well so binging this in less than 24 hours was a breeze!

What a refreshing new romance! The story started out really light-hearted with Sybil appearing to be a bit of a chaos monkey who is prone to dramatics. This ended up being a really great lead up to the tension and emotional depth of the story by the end. The characters really did grow over the course of the story, made clear through flashbacks to Sybil’s previous relationships and experiences that shaped who she is in the present. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator (Cherami Leigh) was fantastic. This was the first audiobook of her’s I’ve listened to. She did such a great performance and truly made my reading experience all that much better - especially the emotional scenes at the end.

I completely loved this book!! It was a page turner and the perfect read for summer! I found both Sybil and Jamie to be really likable! I found the back story of Liam really interesting also. I LOVED the ending with the three rings and found it realistic in that someone who has so much “sparkle” like Sybil would be drawn to 3 completely different people. Her bubbly personality reminded me of myself a little and I found it refreshing! I would highly recommend this book! No complaints from me.

I wasn't sure what to expect for a romance written by a former Bachelor/Bachelorette alum, but I was so pleasantly surprised! The first 3/4 of this, and the ending, made for the perfect romcom reminiscent of Forgetting Sarah Marshall. There were some more serious topics discussed so I recommend checking trigger warnings before reading. But overall I really enjoyed this! The multiple time frames were still easy to follow and the dialogue was so good. I also really enjoyed the narrator, who really brought the story to life!

Both of her books have been so good. I loved the first one just a smidge more but this one was so good as well. Sybil is so real and relatable in many ways. We all have insecurities and doubts that we are good enough and it was really nice to have a main character have real flaws and feelings. As someone with PCOS I felt her pain on another level and I hope this book helps other woman with PCOS feel heard and acknowledged as I did. 🧡

A cute summertime read. I was impressed with the storyline and characters. It is a medium paced romantic comedy all about not giving up. Great narration.

Well this book was literally a flaming dupster of trash that even a NYC street mouse would touch, But oh my word, I am here for it!
Can I just tell you how much fun I had reading this book? But the content was h-e-a-v-y!

I read Hannah Brown's first book in this series and landed somewhere in between being frustrated with the ending and left on a total cliffhanger of an ending, especially with how we were left in the dark about Sybil and who she actually was and her actions.
This book is redemption.
Hannah brings you into Sybils story and wow, she is so much more than the flighty snowflake in book one. Her history is tough, it helped me to understand her actions that took place in book 1. Overall I had fun falling in love with Sybil and the anticipation of finding out who would give her that final ring.....
