I loved Hannah Brown on the Bachelorette and loved her previous novel, so I was so excited for the chance to listen to "The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain". I couldn't stop listening to this one, and just loved it. It was full of unlikely romance and also incorporated several trigger topics that woman face often alone! I will definitely be recommending this book!

Did this book deliver — yes. Did the audiobook narrator deliver — also yes. I genuinely enjoyed this one and the back story of what makes the four engagement rings of Sybil Rain. The audiobook gave it so much character and personality, really got to hear the sass in the characters, especially Seb — iykyk. 💁🏻‍♀️

I really enjoyed listening to this! To me, this story is a miscommunication trope done right. Throughout the story, the miscommunication's of Sybil's last engagement are unraveled slowly to both the reader and the characters. It was a fun read that I wanted to keep listening to.

The narrator selected was perfect! The voice felt so authentic for the character.

I was completely hooked to this book from the first page. I loved 𝘔𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘴 𝘞𝘦 𝘕𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘔𝘢𝘥𝘦, and am so happy to have Sybil’s perspective and story now. It’s a bit messy of course (I love a good mess), and Sybil comes across as flaky at first, but I felt like she was very relatable, and there is so much depth and character development we get to uncover throughout. I am a big fan of loud, friendly, outgoing personalities, so I just loved Sybil.

Second chance is my favorite, and this one is SO WELL DONE! I felt like the chemistry jumped off the pages, I loved the flashbacks of their history and significant moments between them (and also her other relationships), and the way they worked through their feelings toward one another.
Now the setting - a luxurious Hawaiian resort, described in beautiful detail, made me want to pack a bag.

🎧The audiobook is narrated by Cherami Leigh, and I felt like her voice was the perfect match for Sybil. She completely drew me in, her depiction of the characters and all of the emotions was absolutely AMAZING! This book played out like a movie in my head, I could vividly picture it all, thanks to the fantastic writing and narration!

Thank you Forever Pub and Hachette Audio for the advanced copies!!

I am so thankful to Net Galley for the early audio copy of Hannah Brown’s latest! I really enjoyed the storyline and it was a perfect summer read. Keeping track of the characters and the way they wove into the storyline was a little confusing at first, but I loved seeing the way the relationships grew Sybil into the best version of herself. Nice work, Hannah!

If you like second chance rom coms, this is the book for you!

What an enjoyable read! I wasn’t sure if I was going to like the FMC Sybil at the beginning, however, the more I learned about her the more I liked her. There were some important flashbacks to her past which helped the story along and explain how she got to her present situation. And her character had a lot more depth and history than I initially expected.

Jamie is a beautiful cinnamon roll MMC who I was rooting for from the beginning.

The audiobook is narrated by a single narrator who did a great job! The characters were easy to follow and the narrator was easy to listen to.

I devoured this audiobook in a day, it was the perfect romcom I needed in my life.

This was honestly a pretty cute contemporary second chance romance. I listened to this on audio and I felt like the narrator did a great job of capturing the emotion throughout the story.

Sybil occasionally annoyed me with her miscommunication, but that seemed to be the whole point. Jamie was a lil angel baby and I loved him 🥹🫶🏼

Thank you to NetGalley + Hachette Audio for the Arc!

This book was adorable and the perfect summer read. The narrator brings life to the characters as we follow Sybil as she heads to Hawaii to use her vouchers for her canceled honeymoon plans. Once there though she is faced with the man who was originally going to be her husband.
This book was full of heart and laughs as well as unexpected emotional depth. I really enjoyed it. I could not stop reading. This is a must read of summer.

Thank you NetGalley for this ALC in exchange for my honest review.

This was a cute one! The setting of Hawaii adds a fun summery backdrop to this crazy beach read that has surprising depth.

I enjoyed the audiobook production and thought the narrator did a great job.

Thanks for the ALC netgalley!

This was a sweet, summery story (perfect beach or pool-side read!) with surprising emotional depth. I listened to the audiobook and loved the narrator—her voice truly brought the story to life.
Sybil heads to Hawaii using her unused honeymoon vouchers, only to run into her ex-fiancé... and then her other ex-fiancé, who agrees to pose as her boyfriend. It’s a whirlwind of unresolved feelings, healing old wounds, and finding strength in vulnerability.
The setting was dreamy, the characters were compelling, and the emotional journey felt authentic. I was especially impressed by Sybil’s growth. I didn’t expect to enjoy this as much as I did—Hannah did a wonderful job!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Hachette Audio for the opportunity to listen to this advanced listening copy in exchange for my honest opinion!

3.5 stars – Mildly entertaining, but nothing groundbreaking

The Four Engagements of Sybil Rain was a mildly entertaining read with a few genuinely funny moments. The character development was solid, and the pacing kept things moving along. That said, the story was fairly predictable and read a bit like YA at times. It didn’t really stand out from the sea of other meet-cute romances, but I still finished it and found myself laughing here and there. I split my time between the physical book and the audiobook, though I wasn’t a fan of the narrator’s voice—it didn’t add much to the experience. All in all, a light, easy read, but not especially memorable.

This was so good! I loved the first book in this series, and this was a tender and satisfying follow up. I liked the 2 main characters - their relationship was vulnerable and romantic and I was rooting for them so hard! And I loved the personal development Sybil went through. No one needs to earn being loved 💘 It was on track to be another 5⭐️ until the end - one of the major conversations to resolve their conflict happened off page which made the rest of the wrap up feel fairly anticlimactic. I need an angsty conflict resolution ok!! If I’m not physically hurting, I don’t want it.

A huge plus - the audio narrator was SO good. She represented Sybil’s emotions so authentically without being wildly over the top. I don’t love most romance audio narrators so this was a joy to listen to.

Definitely feels like a set up for Nikki’s story, which would be an auto-read for me.

Thanks NetGalley for the arc!

The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain by Hannah Brown

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ // 🎧 audiobook

🌶️/5

One year after her wedding ends in disaster, Sybil Rain checks into the honeymoon resort she was supposed to visit as a newlywed, alone, hopeful for a fresh start and completely unprepared for what’s waiting for her. Her ex-fiancé Jamie is also there at the same time with a woman he casually introduces as his coworker. Flustered and desperate to save face, Sybil blurts out that she’s there with her boyfriend. Enter ex-fiancé number two, who just so happens to show up and is more than happy to play the part.

This story gives off Forgetting Sarah Marshall vibes in the best way. Sun-soaked setting, awkward run-ins, unexpected growth. While parts were a bit predictable, I still flew through it. It was such a quick, fun listen and I couldn’t stop wanting to see how everything would unfold.

The real heart of the novel is in Sybil’s journey. Through flashbacks to each of her three failed engagements, we see how her identity has been shaped by heartbreak and how deeply she struggles with her sense of worth. What emerges is a tender, layered look at healing, self-reflection, and what it means to choose yourself after so many false starts.

Both Sybil and Jamie go through real growth separately, and I appreciated that the story gave them space to do so. Their arcs felt honest and emotionally satisfying, and watching them come into their own made the ending feel that much more earned.

This isn’t your typical rom-com. It’s softer, more introspective, and rooted in quiet transformation.

🎧 The audiobook narration was fantastic. Engaging, warm, and perfectly matched to the tone of the story.

Tropes: second-chance romance, runaway bride, found family, emotional healing

Interconnected standalone. I haven’t read Mistakes We Never Made yet, but it’s definitely on my TBR.

I received an ARC(audiobook) of this novel thanks to NetGalley.
I did not love the narrator, so I may have felt differently if I physically read this. Sybil comes across as whiney and chaotic based on the tone of the narrator. I don't root for her to find love. I wish her character had been more developed.
I did find the premise of the story to be entertaining. It was a cozy romantic novel. The cover is absolutely beautiful.

Oh Hannah Brown, the woman that you are. The "golden" era of the Bachelor franchise has passed, in my opinion, but loving that my favorite Bachelorette has expanded her horizons to become an author. So thank you to NetGalley and Hachette Audio for the audio-ARC of her latest book, "The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain". As an OG Hannah fan, I did totally get that brief side character reference to *he who shall not be named* from her season, it's in chapter 6. IYKYK.

If you didn't catch her first book, "Mistakes We Never Made", you can TOTALLY start with this one, but I definitely recommend the first as well! Jumping right in, Sybil's backstory is WILD. but believable. Her free spirited nature was quirky and sweet, and it gave you a firm foundation to empathize with her character throughout the story of her life, and her quest to find love.

This is perfect for fans of Emily Henry, who are looking for a good beach read!

Spice: Open Door, 🌶️

This was an anticipated read for June. I was not familiar with the author or their reality background but the blurb spelled messy and I was really looking forward to reading it.

My first impression was that the book was not as light as I would've expected. Instead it was more of a in depth look at Sybil, the FMC and her past relationships and her own insecurities and how they led to her current situation. While that was more emotional exploration that I originally thought this book had, I did enjoy how the author delved into how early relationships from our amorous ones to even our parents can really change how we see ourselves and how we navigate the world. There were definitely elements similar to Forgetting Sarah Marshall but not as comical. There was a lot of back and forth of her feelings about Jamie. I would've liked to have seen more interactions with Sebastian's character. I did like the twists about what happened leading up to her first wedding with Jamie. I did want more when Jamie and Sybil finally spoke about their feelings and what happened.

From an audiobook standpoint, the production was great. It was one narrator and the narrator, Cherami Leigh, really encapsulated the character from their inflections and overall delivery of the emotional exploration that Sybil undergoes throughout the story.

Overall, I did not connect as much as I wanted with the characters but I do think this is a great read.

Thank you to Forever, Hachette Audio and Hannah Brown for this eARC/eALC.

4.5 💍

Ok, I’ll fess up: I totally picked up the book because I’m a longtime Hannah B fan (Roll Tide!), and I was curious to see what our Bachelorette-turned-author could do on the page. But to my surprise and despite the fact of who the author is, I actually loved the book. Like swooning and laughing-out loud love.
This book is a second-chance romance with a tropical twist and a heroine who's engaged more times than i can count. (Seriously, Sybil’s ring collection could rival any jewelry store.) But beneath the palm trees and past relationships is a story about healing, self-worth, and the process of figuring out who you really are and what you want.
I adored the tropical setting—it gave the book that escapism and summery vibe we need. And as someone who thinks fertility struggles are far too underrepresented in fiction, I was impressed by how honestly those issues with PCOS and fertility were handled. It added real depth to Sybil’s story and made me care about her even more as a person.
That said… Sybil, girl. Just TELL Jamie the truth next time. Half the drama in this book could’ve been avoided if she had just opened her mouth and used her words. But I guess then we wouldn't have had quite as much drama for me to listen to until 1 am.
Speaking of love interests—I was solidly Team Seb at first (I do love a funny broody type), but by the end, I saw the light. Jamie really was the one, and watching Sybil realize that too made it all worth it.
In the end, though, this wasn’t just about finding the right guy. It was about Sybil finding herself. Learning to love herself first, and then decide who deserves a spot next to her.
If you are a fan of beach reads, summer vibes, heroines who grow and change, second chances, and learning to love yourself: then this book is for you!

Narrator/style was great! No issues with audio or style. Narration flowed well for the story. Narrator was perfect fit for the story

Thank you to NetGalley and Hachette audio!

🍍 What I kenw about Hannah Brown before reading the book: that she was a contestant in the shaow The Bachelorette
🍍 What I know about Hannah Brown after reading the book: I love her writing style!!!!

🌅 The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain by Hannah Brown is a delightful, sun-soaked romantic comedy that blends humor, heartache, and healing in a story about a woman confronting her romantic past—one ex-fiancé at a time.

🏝️ Sybil Rain heads to Hawaii to use the honeymoon vouchers from her canceled wedding to Jamie, the ex who left her at the altar. She’s expecting solo spa days and tropical cocktails—not to run into Jamie himself, who’s there on business with a suspiciously attractive “colleague.” In a moment of panic and pride, Sybil claims she’s vacationing with her boyfriend… just as Sebastian, her second ex-fiancé, shows up and agrees to play along.

🍹What follows is a hilarious and heartfelt juggling act as Sybil navigates awkward beach parties, snorkeling mishaps, and unresolved feelings—not just with Jamie and Sebastian, but also with Liam, her first and most mysterious ex-fiancé. As the past resurfaces, Sybil must finally confront the reasons behind her failed engagements and decide whether she’s ready to open her heart again.

🌅 Hannah Brown’s writing is breezy and engaging, with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments and emotional depth. Sybil is a chaotic but lovable heroine, and the tropical setting adds a lush, escapist vibe to the story. While some plot twists are predictable, the emotional payoff and character development make this a satisfying read.

🏝️ The audiobook is narrated by Cherami Leigh, whose performance brings Sybil’s chaotic charm and emotional vulnerability to life with warmth and wit. Leigh’s narration adds a layer of intimacy and energy that enhances the humor and heart of the story, making it a perfect listen for fans of character-driven rom-coms.

🍹 While some plot twists are a bit predictable, the emotional payoff and character development make this a satisfying and enjoyable read.

This book took me completely by surprise. From laughing out loud, to getting teary eyed, to gasping in shock, I felt like I was a part of the journey with these characters. I LOVED IT!

Sybil and Jamie are second-chance perfection, and seeing this story unfold was magical. I binged it in less than a day, I was that invested. Do yourself a favor and either go read or listen to this book - you will not regret it.

When I first came across this book I was completely intrigued by the title alone. Four engagement rings? Ok you got me interested now, and while I stared listening to the book then I became hooked. I just absolutely love a good se one chance romance and when it’s done so well even better. I was so surprised at how much I truly loved and enjoyed this book. I felt very connected to the story and the characters and was completely rooting for them the whole time. I was laughing out loud and got a bit emotional at times and that’s truly what I want from a book. I want the book to engage me and for it to completely suck me in. I want to be completely invested in the character development and the progression of the story throughout the whole book and I do feel this one delivered and checked all those boxes for me. There also was a bit of the miscommunication trope in this book which I typically don’t like in books but the way it was done in this book was not at all bothersome or unenjoyable. I loved the narrator of the book as well I felt she truly delivered Sybil story and did it so well. I highly recommended this book and look forward to see what else this author has in store for us in the future.
