Kelley Armstrong is really bringing her A game with romance. I loved this. Gemma and Mason are in a second chance, fake relationship romance--two tropes I don't love, but Armstrong wrote a lovely, healthy romance. I love, love these characters. They help each other heal and to become better people. I would have enjoyed more spice, not gonna lie. I enjoy a closed door or clean romance but this wasn't exactly that--just lacking in spice. Plenty of chemistry though. The narrators were great and I've added them to my narrators to seek out list. Thank you to NetGalley for an advance listener copy

First book I’ve listened to, or read, by this author. The characters were well written and the story had an easy flow. The MFC has written a book in which the MMC is based upon. He was her high school crush and well we all know how this goes. I’d definitely purchase more books written by this author and I definitely recommend this one.

First things first, I loved this book! I also absolutely loved the audio for this book! The dual narration was spot-on, both narrators brought so much depth and personality to their characters, making them feel even more real and fully fleshed out. The quality of the production was top-notch, and it really enhanced the entire experience. A fantastic listen all around! But above all else, I truly connected with the characters and their journey. I especially loved the MMC’s arc. So often, when someone is rude or closed off, it’s not because they’re inherently unkind, but because they’re carrying something heavy, and watching that truth gently unravel on the page was powerful. It felt so real and personal. I really enjoyed seeing this couple grow together and figure things out as a team. It was heartfelt, honest, and beautifully done.

I enjoyed this book. I liked Mason a lot and in the end, Gemma was okay too. I would recommend this book.

This is my second book by Kelley Armstrong having read Finding Mr Write last year. I was excited to read another! I love the covers of these two books.

This second chance, childhood love, fake dating romance is a real treat! This was such a fun and fast paced read. The banter and chemistry between Gemma and Mason was so enjoyable. The characters had depth facing their own individual struggles and flaws which made them really likeable. I also need to take a moment for Gemma’s grandma - she was hilarious at the hockey game.

Overall, I’d really recommend this book! I read this in two sittings and I think it’s a perfect palate cleanser in between some heavier books! I’m looking forward to reading what Kelley writes next.

Narration: Both Patricia and Sean did a fab job of narrating Gemma and Mason. It’s a duet which is my favourite kind of audiobook, particularly when there’s a lot of dialogue and they sounded really great together.

Writing Mr. Wrong is so a fun second chance hockey romance that was a total win for me! In this we have a debut author who used a previous crush, from high school, as her muse for her bad-boy highland hero in her novel. Now he is a NHL star and is in need of an image change.
I loved how they reconnected. I really liked that the characters end up growing up together, they have that past established and now so that when the relationship changes and it changes substantially you can see it. It is believable.
The growth of the characters on both side were pretty good too. Both in different ways. Realizing different things about themselves. Whether it was a wake up call from reading it in a book… or different means it was great to read.

The audiobook. I really loved it! I loved the male narrator especially I thought they both did a fantastic job. I really loved the production position of the texting and such and when the phone goes off we actually get a sound bite of the ping of the phone. It just added a little extra something to the audio. The pacing of the narration was good the tone was fantastic. I really would love to listen to it again in the future.

Writing Mr.Wrong by Kelley Armstrong was a super fun rom-com. The banter was sharp, the premise was cute, and even though it leaned a little quirky, I was totally along for the ride. It had just the right mix of romance, mystery, and small-town charm without tipping too far into cheesy. If you’re in the mood for something light, clever, and a little unexpected, this will absolutely do the trick.

Overall, I enjoyed this audiobook arc (thank you netgalley!).

I liked how naturally the relationship transitioned from friends to more. The banter was realistic and entertaining. I didn't find the plot or the characters to be that unique to the genre, but I enjoyed the way the FMC and MMC interacted with each other. I struggled to find their (specially Gemma's) fixation on a situation they experienced in high school realistic, considering both characters are in their mid 30s. I was glad we spent time on Mason wanting to change his behaviors but I didn't love the idea that a full grown adult man needed a woman to give him "lessons" on not being a jerk. Free women from having to train their boyfriends to be decent people PLEASE.

Writing mr wrong is about an author who has feelings with an old classmate of hers. They soon run into each because the mean girl from high school set them up in order to embarrass the author. Little did she know was that the high school crush had a crush on the author as well . It was a cute read but sometimes it felt slow but it picked up towards the end.

I really enjoyed this book. Both characters had issues to work through and were made better by eachother and working on themselves.

Really enjoyed this one! The plot was great and felt fleshed out. The fake dating actually made sense in the context of the story. There were some things that were unrealistic for sure, but the vibes were great throughout. Really liked both the MCs and felt like their relationship was realistic.

The narrators both did a really great job of bringing the characters to life. I think they're voices fit the characters so well. It's dual narration which honestly felt weird to me because it is written in third person. Just something that took adjusting to.

From the first scenes of this book, I could tell that I would be pulled in. You have two characters who project something to the outside world and feel something completely different inside. I'm seeing more of the "guy falls first" trope recently, and while I don't like that it's often paired with a female MC that is chalk full of miscommunication, I do enjoy that dynamic. Mason being into Gemma since kindergarten and her just not getting it is so normal, yet not something we read a lot. It was nice to see them get to know each other again as grown-ups and revisit some of their past miscommunications.

The narration of this book was fun. Sean Patrick Hopkins, the voice of Mason, gave a perfect amount of wonder, vulnerability, and kindness to the character that it was easy to forget he was originally the "asshole" of the story.

I thought this was such a cute heartwarming story! I listened on audio and found the narrators great, love how it was recorded and also appreciated the sound effects (text chimes) while listening! Was able to listen to this quickly and would definitely read another from this author again!

Writing Mr. Wrong was a fun, steamy romance that made for an enjoyable listen! While I didn’t find myself deeply connected to the characters, they were still likable and had a nice dynamic that kept the story moving. The plot had a good balance of humor and spice, making it a light and entertaining read overall. If you’re in the mood for a quick romance with some heat and heart, this might be one to add to your TBR.

I liked this one! It was a lighthearted, fun read. It took me a little while to warm up to the characters at first. For a little while, they felt a little immature. I thought the premise of this book was cute. Check this one out if you like estranged childhood friends to lovers, hockey romances, and fake dating!

I am on a Kelley binge thanks to my friend Leanne and I was so honored to be sent this arc! I absolutely loved her first rom com, Finding Mr. Write, and this one was just as much of a delight. This is a second chance romance, about an author who bases the main male character on her high school crush that scorned her. Also, he’s now a professional hockey player! They reunite on live tv and end up beginning a fake dating scheme to boost the book's publicity, and his image in the hockey world. The narration was superb, I loved every second of it and was legit laughing out loud the whole time. Also, I know I’m not the only one who wants a real copy of that Highland romance our FMC “publishes” in the book? It was giving me flashbacks to Kelley’s other new release, “Death at a Highland Wedding”. Highly recommend picking this one up! Also yes I’m already reading my other Kelley arc as we speak. 💕

Its about Gemma a romance writer and teacher! She wrote her brand new book based upon a Enforcer hockey player from her past (Mason).
Mason is very happy the book is based upon him. Until he reads it and isn’t so sure he isn’t an asshole anymore…
He does anything to want to change but its inevitable he needs Gemma her help.

This book was cute. The timing was totally different from the timing of a usual romance. It started at around 80% instead the usual 45%.
Also I didn’t think Mason had any actually redeeming qualities. It felt like he still was at the same level when they started and I didn’t quite enjoy that part. But it’s a cute and fun book and the narrators absolutely killed it.

I have to say that sports romance is not my favorite genre and second chance isn’t my favorite trope. So this should say something about Kelley Armstrong that this was a 4.5 star read for me rounded up because it was written very well. I listened to the audiobook and loved the narrators. Gemma is a new debut author who successfully wrote a romance novel with a male love interest based on the hockey star almost was relationship she had in high school Mason. They reconnect because of this and some fake dating leads to some wonderful things. The characters were good, while they weren’t perfect they were likable and worked well together. This book was the warm hug of a read I really needed. This author has a special skill to write across so many genres. This shows why she’s one of my favorite writers.
