Psycho Shifters is book one in the Cruel Shifterverse series. This book follows Sadie, Jax, Cobra, & Asher.
As soon as I saw that this book was a why-choose shifter romance, I said, “Sign me up!”. This was my first book by Jasmine Mas and I can’t wait to continue with the series! From the very beginning, I was hooked. It does start off a bit heartbreaking, but it sets up the story of Sadie’s life and just how rough she had it growing up.
Sadie is resilient, strong, sassy, and caring. She always thought of herself as a null and finds out that it isn’t the case at all and is in fact an Alpha. Jax is the leader of all the alphas in a way, the most commanding but also strong, protective, and sweet. Asher is a bit of an ass at first but I warmed up to him. He is protective, a hot head, caring, and weary of her. Cobra is the one I think is the most interesting of the three men. He is short-tempered, protective, sassy, and shockingly can be sweet. He doesn’t like women which we kind of find out why but it is still kind of a mystery however Sadie is the exception. As the book went on I liked his interactions with her the most.
I enjoyed seeing all of these characters grow throughout the story but Sadie’s was the most impactful. I loved the dynamic between each of the men with Sadie and with themselves! The sexual tension between all of them was palpable. The plot twist at the end was one I did not see coming!
This duet narration was so perfect with Mollie Stark, Jaime Lincoln Smith, Teddy Hamilton, & Jeremy York. I love every single narrator that was selected for this book and could feel the emotions of the characters because of how they brought them to life.
Thank you so much to Jasmine, Harlequin Audio, and NetGalley for the gifted copy.

HOLY CRAP?!? Ok this audiobook was done so freaking well doing this in duet style was phenomenal. This book was both hilarious and just insanely good. I need book 2 immediately!!!!! these narrators absolutely crushed their roles I will for sure be on the lookout for more they have done. The writing in this had me laughing out loud so many times. this is the second book I have read by this author and honestly, she may be one of my new favorites.! Thank you to NetGalley for this audio arc. This is my honest review.

Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Audio for the arc!
2.75-stars from me.
Psycho Shifters follows Sadie, who is tenacious and unique in her world. She is thrown from a life of poverty, into a world where she is amongst the most powerful. While parts of the plot were interesting, the writing fell flat for me. So much of the story felt too trope-y and redundant. The ending is where things picked up and felt surprising, but I wasn't invested enough in the overall story to be excited for book 2.
The narrators all did a great job though, and it was easy to listen to!

Story/writing: 3⭐️
Audio/narration: 4⭐️
I heard that this series was in the same universe of Billie of Hercules, so I wanted to read it and look for Easter eggs. It definitely read like a first novel and I struggled to get into it and stay interested.
The audiobook cast was very good and I enjoyed the narration. I liked the duet narration, which also helped me keep track of who was speaking/who’s point of view each chapter was in.
Thank you NetGalley and Canary Street Press for the advanced copy of this audiobook.

I have loved this book ever since I first read it in September of 2022!
Getting to listen to the audio and hear all of the characters made it even better. I also loved having multiple narrators!
Sadie goes through so much in this book and really starts coming into her new role in life. However, everyone and everything is against her. Especially the alphas who are supposed to help her through this journey. They all have pasts and dark backgrounds! Seeing the way they all interact with each other and form new bonds is amazing as well. I can’t wait to listen to the rest of the series and experience everything again, but in a new and better way!

Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Audio for the opportunity to listen to an Advanced Listener's Copy (ALC) in exchange for my honest opinion/review. This book was narrated by Mollie Stark, Jaime Lincoln Smith, Teddy Hamilton, and Jeremy York. I would give the audiobook production a 5 stars!
Psycho Shifters is the first book in the Cruel Shiftverse series. This book follows Sadie, who is a 20-year-old full of scars and trauma. She meets her three love interests - Jax, Ascher, and Cobra. Sadie discovers that she is the first female alpha and she is put through the ringer time and time again as she attempts to prove her worth to everyone around her.
While the premise sounds intriguing and the world has potential (I read the first chapter of the next book), the story struggled with pacing and cohesion. The romances build rather quickly with no tension and let me wanting more emotional depth. I feel like I really didn't get to know each character outside of their physical attraction toward each other.
The audiobook narration was fantastic! I enjoyed having multiple narrators voice the characters, as this helped tremendously with distinguishing between them all. I love that the excerpt for chapter one of the next book was included, as this made me excited to continue on in the series!
This book is perfect for readers who enjoy:
⚔"why choose?" romance
⚔morally gray alpha heroes
⚔kickass heroine
⚔extreme enemies to lovers
⚔super steamy heat level (there is a lot of booty play)

Book- 4.5/5 stars
Narration- 5/5 stars!
This was my first Jasmine Mas book and I’m obsessed! I’m excited for book 2 - I really liked this world and the mystery of the Fae Queen, worlds, Sadie’s beast.. all of it! I wanted a bit more world building/background though. The story line is well written with lovable side characters and MCs. Sadie is the strong, unbreakable FMC that I love in my fantasy worlds.
The enemies were enemying! I look forward to the lovers part in coming books. The dynamic between MMCs is believable and strong with a background. I enjoyed how Sadie fit but also didn’t fit into that dynamic!
I’ve listened to Teddy Hamilton before but the other three narrators were new to me. Mollie was a great cast for Sadie and her raspy voice was perfect! I really liked the personality that she brought to Sadie also.

I picked this book based off of the cover (it’s so pretty). I did not know what this was about going into it. This is a MMFM (I think that’s going to be the order) why choose shifter romance. This is not a genre I would typically read.
What I liked:
-the characters backstories are interesting
- the shifter hierarchy
- none of the characters are presented as perfect. They all have flaws and trauma
What wasn’t for me:
- the FMC goes from giddy and excited from her first kiss on the cheek to 👆in her 🍑 real fast. In the words of Will Ferrell “that escalated quickly”
-the FMC has trauma and her first experience is while she’s intoxicated.
This ends on a cliff hanger and the story itself seems to be going in an interesting direction. If you’re a dark romance or why choose reader that like shifters, I would recommend this one. If that’s not your jam, then this ones probably not for you.

Such a captivating read! I read it in one day. The audiobook was amazing and the narrators did such a great job.
If you enjoy shifter romances with a strong female main character, that is a slow burn I highly recommend reading this series!
Now on to book 2 immediately!

I’m torn between hating and loving this audiobook, so I’ll rate it 3 stars. The story had potential, but the writing lacked substance. The plot was chaotic. The second half was better than the first. The full cast of characters is always a strong point in audiobooks. Teddy Hamilton’s narration was amazing and enhanced the experience. Mollie’s voice for Sadie’s emotions and thoughts was also excellent. Overall, I enjoyed the audiobook.

Thank you to @htpbooks_audio and @htp_hive for providing me an early copy of this audiobook. All opinions are my own.
Ok, this one was a good time!
Sadie has just escaped her abusive home life by testing positive for being an alpha, the first female ever, and thrown to the front lines to train with fellow alphas to fight in a forever war against the fae…is the gist I got? 😆
And of course her fellow alphas are hot god-like specimens, who are all inexplicably obsessed with her. The sexual tension was high pretty much throughout, with *most* of the *action* taking place with characters other than the FMC, (and yes, some of the male alphas are into each other too…)
I feel like most of this book was us getting to know the characters and their relationships to one another, as well as this shifter world and what they’re up against, but let me tell you, that ending had me gripped! With some twists I did not see coming, and I will definitely be continuing on with this series!
Audiobook notes: This was one of those books where I know the audio just raised my enjoyment tenfold. Multi-cast duet narration with fabulous narrators. And Mollie Stark was a huge highlight! Delivering those lines with just the right amount of humor, and providing the perfect raspy voice for Sadie’s speaking lines
What this book is giving:
✅ Paranormal Romance
✅ Multi-cast Duet Narration
✅ Multi POV
✅ Why Choose/Poly?
✅ Shifters
✅ All Alphas
✅ Bit of a cliffy
Rating:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5
🌶️🌶️🌶️ / 5

Thank you so much to Harlequin Audio and NetGalley for giving to the
opportunity to listen to Psycho Shifters!
I really enjoyed this book so much and so glad I decided to listen to the audiobook version. I loved that there were different voice actors for the male and female characters in the book and just how well the story came together as a whole in the audiobook.
I really love Sadie’s character and how strong and sarcastic she was throughout the whole book, there were a couple of times I started to laugh out loud from the things she would say and do.
The alphas in the book Jax, Ascher and Cobra were sometimes hard to remember at times, I feel like I didn’t care as much for there story as much as I did for Sadie’s until the end of the book. The ending definitely has me invested in all the alphas now and has me so excited for book two! Thank you again to Harlequin Audio and NetGalley for giving me to opportunity to listen to Psycho Shifters!💕📚

This was a reread in audio format and I loved every minute of it! The narrator’s all did such an amazing job and the performance was absolutely perfect. The snark, banter, and tension is all there and perfectly represented.
Sadie’s inner monologue was hilarious. I loved watching her gain confidence throughout the book and cannot wait to know more about this “numbness” she has going on.
And that ending definitely leaves you dying to know what comes next.

This was a reread for me but this time, I experienced it through the audiobook, and WOW… it completely leveled up the story. I had so much fun diving back into this wild ride, and it honestly felt like I was reading it for the first time all over again.
The narrator? Phenomenal. I absolutely adored the voice actress for the main character. She brought so much emotion, wit, and personality to every scene. I found myself hanging onto every word, and I’m officially saving her name for future audiobooks. She captured the energy of the story perfectly and made the MC feel so real and relatable.
Even though I already know what happens, I’m 100% continuing the series on audio. That’s how good it was. If you’ve been thinking about picking this one up do yourself a favor and listen to it. I need everyone to experience the chaos, humor, and chemistry in this book the way I just did.

⭐⭐⭐⭐/🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Psycho Shifters by Jasmine Mas (Cruel Shifterverse #1)
The vibes were vibing so hard with this book!!! It was such a good time. I got this as an advance listener copy audiobook, and it is done so well. Mollie Stark really got into it playing Sadie even with the vocal sound effects. And the 3 male alphas are narrated by Teddy Hamilton, Jaime Lincoln Smith, and Jeremy York. I loved that each of the main characters had their own voice.
Sadie is our FMC who becomes the first female alpha shifter and is surrounded by broody male alphas in this why choose paranormal romantasy.

I’ve read this book before a long time ago, maybe not long but long to me haha, but I’ve always enjoyed it and I was very excited to listen to the audiobook version.
I think these voice actors did a great job bringing this story to life, it was cool listening to a book that I already liked and hearing what they did to it. The men were gruff and enjoyable and the female voice actors did an amazing job capturing the roughness of the fmcs voice while also keeping it enjoyable to hear.
Overall great listening experience and the book itself is good too. It’s dark, twisty, sexy, and alluring.

3.5 stars. First and foremost, I think the narrators of this audiobook did a fantastic job. They kept me intrigued even when the story fell flat or became repetitive. I loved Sadie’s sassy side but, I got very sick of constantly reading about how “small” she is. I get we are supposed to think she is tiny but mighty but it did get old after a bit. She had more sides to her character that could have taken center stage. The dynamic between the 3 male alphas was super fun and a nice surprise. I loved that they were all alphas but had very distinct character traits. While some spots fell flat for me, I am still going to continue the series as I think it has some great potential!
Thank you so much to Jasmine, Harlequin Audio, and NetGalley for this ALC in return for my honest review. My opinions are my own.

I absolutely love Jasmine's writing. This was the first book I had read of hers and I love getting to listen to it!

Psycho Shifters by Jasmine Maas is pure chaos in the best way. Think dark-ish romance meets unhinged supernatural drama, with a heroine who doesn’t back down and a pack of dangerously hot shifters who give new meaning to the word possessive. It’s fast-paced, wild, and absolutely unputdownable. If you like your reverse harems with bite (literally) and a whole lot of attitude, you’re in for a ride.

3.5 stars
What a wild ride! It’s got some ABO shifter monsters & a battle between realms with the beasts & the fae. This is book one and basically we just meet the 3 main Alpha men & our FMC Sadie who after years of indentured servitude learns she’s actually the first female alpha ever & she’s whisked off from her abusive “home” to the alpha & beta training academy. There’s some MM romance, voyeurism, and lots of talk about Sadie being too small, pathetic, and a princess. I can see why people won’t like this but it was a quick read. When it ended its left on a cliffhanger but that’s the life of book 1 in a series.
Really enjoyed the full cast narration on this one!
