I jumped at the chance to reread “Psycho Shifters” via audiobook—it’s been years since my first read, and I’m finally ready to finish the series. I was especially curious to hear how Sadie’s raspy voice would be portrayed, since her character has permanent vocal cord damage. Narrator Mollie Stark absolutely nailed it—capturing both the physical rasp and Sadie’s scrappy, defiant personality as she’s thrown into the heart of a war between Fae creatures and Alpha shifters.
Teddy Hamilton voices Cobra, the icy Alpha with a moral opposition to women. I’ll give him a pass due to his traumatic backstory. Jamie Lincoln Smith narrates his bear-shifter boyfriend Jax, who starts off a little too intense for my taste but his performance gradually warms up and supports Jax’s roles as the leader and aSadie’s ally within the group.
The real standout, though, was Jeremy York as Asher.
When I first read this, Asher was the hardest character for me to get a read on. But with York’s narration, he clicked immediately. Asher is vigilant, desperate to prove himself to both his comrades and his demanding father. Sadie’s presence rattles him because she forces him to acknowledge the things he resents in himself but hasn’t yet found the courage to face. His POV chapters were a highlight. I was hanging on to every conflicted thought.
And the spice will have you blushing from head to toe! Sadie’s relationship with the alphas develops over the entire series so patience is advised. But the Why-choose fans will appreciate the openness between MM characters.

The audio of this makes the entire experience so enjoyable. The ensemble cast perfectly brought our alphas to life and captured their essence wonderfully. The narrator for our FMC particularly did a tremendous job voicing the snark, pain, and utterly unwell-ness of Sadie.
This story is wild, fast paced, and at times hilarious. You can easily consume this in one sitting and be ready for more. I'll absolutely continue this series, but I definitely want to wait for the next audio. I feel like it's the proper way to experience this story.

The audio made this book. Mollie Stark; Jaime Lincoln Smith; Teddy Hamilton; Jeremy York All took Mas's words and added the influence and the touch needed. It was a full cast duet style that was FOR ME SPECIFICALLY. The story intrigued me and it wasn't as hot and heavy as I expected. I'm sure as the story progresses it will be but heck yeah I enjoyed it. I am already excited to listen to book 2. Let's gooo.

This was so🔥🔥🔥! It's a why choose bully romance between 3 alpha male shifters & 1 kickass female alpha shifter. The tension, banter & chemistry were 👌🏼.
There is also a sense of brokenness among the MCs that is hard to resist. I loved that there was something they each provided to each other that they couldn’t deny & boy did they try to deny it! These men trying to act all alpha but secretly simpering for their tiny alpha & her trying to be so hard but letting them care for her in little ways that were huge bc she hated to be vulnerable. You know I ate that up!!! 🍿
🎧 The audiobook was such a highlight for me.
The dual narration (all 4 MCs) was perfection! I listened to this at the gym & let’s just say it kept my motivation levels way up. 😉😝
The cliffhanger ending will leave you wanting to run to book 2!

This was a reread for me; but it felt like a totally new experience with all the narrators. I’m a big fan of Teddy Hamilton; but Mollie Stark stole the show. She brought Sadie to life with her snark and blasé attitude. I fell in love with this story again as I laughed and was on the edge of my seat. Sadie learning how to be a warrior and a friend to the Betas, makes her more relatable as a character. Jasmine Mas is quickly becoming an author that I will instantly pick up any book she writes. Her FMCs are nothing like I’ve read before. The fact that they can find humor in the most tragic circumstances makes me love them even more.

I loved the Audiobook!!!

I laughed so much while listening to this book, the female lead thought she was just a normal person, made to be a servant. That is until a guard comes in to her home and says hat all servants are to be alpha tested. She is the first ever female alpha and the male alphas are unsure about her at first, but it doesn’t talk long until they are all touch her and die..they protect her.
The cliffhanger was not something I saw coming!

Teddy Hamilton is a must-listen for me in any audiobook. I loved his portrayal of the story and characters in this audiobook, just as I did in the other narrators’. I have previously read Psycho Shifters by Jasmine Mas and loved the book, so getting the audiobook version was a treat. Loved it and can’t wait to see what happens next.

This audiobook was EVERYTHING I wanted. Pure perfection. I finished the whole series in two days after starting this book. Thank you so much for the early ARC.

Ensemble narration will forever be my favorite form of audiobook. It’s even more enjoyable when all of the narrators say their own lines regardless of whose chapter it is, which is what happens here. Every single one of the narrators did such a good job voicing their individual characters. The way that they embodied them helped differentiate between the three guys specifically. Our FMC has both physical and mental trauma, and the way that the narrator voices her really shows both of those things..
Our story follows Sadie as she discovers she’s the first and supposedly only female alpha. She’s taken away from her abusive guardian and spirited away to an alpha/beta military like stronghold. Throughout the story, we see her come into her own despite all of the torment and bullying she faces. Our three male leads are written so differently, and yet somehow they work so well together. While our main alpha Jax, does his best to be civil to Sadie, Cobra and Asher take no such measures. And yet we see each one of them fall throughout the story.
I had such a good time and it was so fast paced, I got through this listening in one sitting. Highly recommend and I’m definitely looking forward to the next one.

Thank you, @htp_hive and @htpbooks, for the ALC review copy.
I enjoyed the audio for this one. The cast of narrators did a great job bringing the story to life with their performance.
There was humor and action, and it was a fast-paced listen.
If you enjoy shifters, alpha males, and why choose, you should give this one a listen.

Blurb: “Fight like a girl...or a shifter of lore. After growing up with nothing, l've finally found my path to freedom: I'm a shifter, an elite soldier who transforms into a monster. All I have to do is survive. I didn't count on my three 6'5 roommates. Covered in tattoos, jeweled, and horned, these are like no men l've ever dealt with before. They don't think I belong. They don't think I'm strong enough for war. They don't think I can fight. I'm about to prove them wrong. The only problem, can I survive them discovering the secrets of my past? In the battle for life and death, everyone is so much more than they seem. Jax, Ascher, and Cobra are going to be devastated when they discover my truth...just wait until they see my shifted form.“
: Not much of a fantasy girly but maybe I like romantasy? In the beginning it was a bit of a slow start but started to pick up towards the middle. The fmc was a bit unlikable at times because she needed to stand up for herself! Also I’m not into bully romance too much, the male characters were a bit too mean lol. Once all that was over then I started to like the book more. The shifters & far elements were pretty cool!

Starting off with the audio. I thought it was done quite well. All narrators did an amazing job. Voices were clear & precise.
Sound quality was clean. I could really feel the energies & emotions given as they narrated.
As for the book. I feel like this was a good start to the series but I did expect a little more. The blurb speaks of a strong FMC, but describes her as weak & small throughout the book.
Sadie was released from her imprisoned life and survived the beatings she was given. And yes, surviving is definitely a strength. She became an alpha and turned into a monstrous animal. But was that the only "strong" aspect of her. I just felt like I needed more. She deserved more.
As for our MMC's, can we say feral much. Red flags!! RED FLAGS!! lol. 6'5, gorgeous & mouthy. Let's not forget interesting male parts. Sadie is in for a ride. Or lack thereof.
There wasn't much interaction with the four of them so that was a bit disappointing. BUT, there was somewhat of an interaction going on indeed. *insert winky face*. I was definitely hoping my girl Sadie was going to have some fun.
Overall, this book did hold my interest & the audio was top tier. Although I could see it coming, the twist at the end is what has me continuing on to the next book.

Jasmine did such a great job with this book! I was captivated in this storyline! I love that our fmc is an underdog and she is proving she can raise to the challenges that she needs to face! I can’t wait for book 2 to find out what happens next.

I really enjoyed this audiobook! Thank you so much to NetGalley for early access to the book! I thought that the narrators did a really good job of portraying the story and I really like that it is duet style narration. The story was also really interesting and I plan to keep reading the series. There were a lot of questions that were left unanswered that I am curious to fully understand. Overall, I thought it was a solid story and the narration made it that much better!

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️
This was a fun read. Jasmine Mas definitely has a distinct writing voice that is present in all her books (or at least the two I’ve read so far), the FMCs have similar logic and trauma and both her series have orphans as their FMC.
Psycho Shifters is the first book in a completed series, that are currently being re-released with Mas’s recent traditional publishing deal for the entire Cruel Shifterverse series. This was a good introduction into the series, mostly focused on world building, sowing plot seeds, and character development so there isn’t a huge focus on spice or deep character interaction. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series!

Thank you to Harlequin Audio for the ALC and the chance to read and review and give my honest opinion.

An entertaining read with a full cast of narrators (Teddy Hamilton, swoon). Pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed the story. The romance wasn’t too much. Fun twists and turns to the story. Did get tiresome to read about how short the FMC is in the book.
I received an arc from netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

This story took me on a wild ride dark, chaotic, and weirdly addictive. The full cast narration absolutely elevated the experience. The emotional range, distinct character voices, and the chemistry between narrators pulled me in deeper than I expected.
Sadie’s journey was gritty and unrelenting, and the world-building had promise even if some moments felt repetitive. The unexpected twist at the end definitely spiced things up and left me curious.
If you’re into reverse harem, bully dynamics, or just want something dark and full of dramatic tension, this might hit the spot, but it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea.
Story ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Narration ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I loved this book. I can't wait for the rest of the books to be available on audiobook. It has the right tone and I enjoyed reading it. I laughed out loud so many times and got funny looks while reading in public. I'll definitely follow this author from now on.

I have never met a group of people that I have liked less than the 4 main characters of this book. The potential for an interesting fantasy world and intriguing plot were present, but they were vastly overshadowed by the most awful, horrifying, and annoying characters. The inner (and outer) dialogue was the cringiest thing I’ve ever read, with the FMC being the absolute worst case of “pick me” girl attitude I’ve ever seen. I can only assume that the author despises women, because the only presence that women served in this plot was to show that the FMC is “not like all the rest” (I guess because she “doesn’t want to actually be here!”). Every male character was misogynistic, aggressive and antagonist for no apparent reason other then to fulfill a trope. The only reason I continued to listen was because I didn’t have any other audiobooks to listen to and I had a busy day that paired well with an audiobook, but my small hope that it would get better was never fulfilled. The narration itself was good, but having a full cast duet narration for a book this bad felt like a waste.

This is my second time reading this book. The first time I read it on KU and this time I’m listening to the audio arc.
I love Sadie even more than before and the duet style narrating was so good. The only thing about the audio I wasn’t into at times is that the “s” sounds it hurt my ears at times. I’m not sure if you know what I mean, but I would just turn the volume down some.
I loved all the narrators and can’t wait for the next book.
