This would be a very good book for other people but in all honesty this just wasn't for me. The author has a very wonderful writing style and did a fantastic job.

If you’re looking for the perfect wintery, folkloric read, this is for you! I adored the lush worldbuilding and how seamlessly woven the plot was with both the romance and the magic system. Lena is slow to trust and careful with her decisions, and I found her character arc especially relatable because of it. And Dimas! I loved him so much. I’m such a sucker for a slow burn romance between a prince and his guard, and this delivered on every level. The romance between them was so tender, so deliberate and full of care, I was absolutely squealing so many times. Edward’s writing was lush without feeling overwrought, the magic system inventive and personal, the characters both believable and easy to root for, and the pacing kept me engaged throughout. Overall, I genuinely was captivated from start to finish, and can’t wait to read more from this author!

DNF at 58%. Maybe this just isn't the right time of year to read this or something, but I skimmed a lot because I cannot get into it. I feel like I have become a mood reader for this book and this book alone and I feel really bad about that. I'll try again in winter!
