I am gnawing at the bars in my enclosure, just read the first 3 chapters of Three Shattered Souls (preview).

So far it is off to a fantastic start, bonus for Mai Corland writing in a synopsis of what's happen so far (bless every author who does that) It's multiple POV with a couple of new characters that we hopefully get to know better.

But here's a little bit of whats going on. After the events in Four Ruined Realms our rag tag team is on a set back having to get their bearings in a new realm, but of course it's not a good team if you can trust them right?

Lots of feelings and BIG reveals, also more secrets! I am sadly waiting for July 15th. Can not wait and see whats going to happen!

Thank You Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for the preview in exchange for an honest review

Omg this was such a good preview!!! I cannot wait for the rest of the book to be released. I love how the story starts off with jumping right into the action. Mikail and Sora are my favorite, can’t wait to read more about them.

This preview has made me even more excited for Book 3. The start sees us back with the Blades shortly after the end of Book 2, dealing with the fallout. By expertly withholding the POV the reader is most intrigued to hear, Mai Corland manages to build even more tension, giving the reader the same sense of unease the characters feel as they try to understand the inner workings of those around them. I look forward to reading the book in its entirety to soon, and finding out what conclusion awaits our favorite Blades!

Three Shattered Souls by Mai Corland is a deeply emotional and resonant novel that explores the inner lives of three people—Lila, Marcus, and Eleni—each carrying the weight of personal trauma. Their stories unfold separately at first, but gradually intertwine in a way that feels organic and meaningful. Corland’s strength lies in how authentically she captures grief, guilt, and the quiet fight to rebuild a life.

Lila’s journey after losing her parents is raw and honest. Marcus, haunted by a past mistake, battles isolation and regret. Eleni, a resilient immigrant mother, endures hardship with quiet grace. Each voice is distinct and fully realized. The alternating perspectives flow seamlessly and never feel disjointed.

The writing is clear, lyrical, and emotionally intelligent. Corland doesn’t rely on melodrama; instead, her prose captures real, human emotions. I found myself deeply moved by subtle moments—Lila staring at an untouched photo frame, Marcus pacing before an apology, Eleni silently folding laundry while holding back tears.

If I had one suggestion, it would be to deepen some side characters and clarify a few timeline shifts. A sentence or two of context in flashback chapters would help orient readers better. Otherwise, this novel is beautifully crafted.

Three Shattered Souls will stay with readers long after the final page. It’s perfect for fans of character-driven literary fiction with emotional depth and healing at its core. Corland’s writing is compassionate, honest, and full of hope.

✨𝒜𝑅𝒞 𝒫𝓇𝑒𝓋𝒾𝑒𝓌 𝑅𝑒𝓋𝒾𝑒𝓌✨

In the first three chapters of Three Shattered Souls, we pick up immediately following the devastating events in Four Ruined Realms.

Long buried truths, shocking betrayals, and heart shattering loss haunt our tortured heroes. If the preview is any indication, this final installment will be an emotional and heart pounding ride! Am I counting down until July 15th? Yes, yes I am.

So grateful to the author, Entangled Publishing, Red Tower Books, and Netgalley for the ARC preview opportunity! This is my honest and voluntary review.

With only three chapters, Mai Corland immediately picks up where she left off in the third instalment of The Broken Blades series.
Our remaining protagonists barely survived previous battles and are now left raw and vulnerable. After some tragic events, the truth has come to light, hearts have been broken, and trust has been shattered. However, they must come to their senses to prepare for their most epic battle. But after everything that happened, will their teamwork survive to fight for the sake of all the Kingdoms set in Corland's enriching fantasy world?
While only being a preview, readers are back to where Four Ruined Realms ended, with the emotional devastation of our beloved protagonist.

I saw the preview of "Three Shattered Souls" and immediately dived in... and inhaled the first three chapters. Corland wastes zero time and gives us a "What has happened so far.." which get's you back on course - if you haven't read the previous book in recent days. We jump immediately back into the story, which is extremely easy with Corland's descriptive writing and the immersive prose.

In short, I am sold and waiting for the rest! In the first couple of pages alone, we are hit with loss of identity, loss of a loved one and the impending loss of... well, I wont tell you that, but if you read the last book, you kind of know already.

You feel the dread, the anxiety and need to do something ( at least I did while i flew through these pages). Add this to your preorder list and do yourself a favor!

Thank you to Mai Corland and Netgalley! Now I need the complete ARC, this wasn't enough!

In my excitement to read the book I missed the “preview” part of the listing.

As far as the first few chapters go, this is a promising start to the finale of the trilogy! I can’t wait to continue reading the rest as soon as possible

Didn’t realize this was a preview when I requested it, but that’s my fault. Nevertheless it made me more excited for the final installment! I so appreciate that a recap was included as well as a glossary. It helped jog my memory of important plot points and terms.

Given that this is a 3 chapter preview of the book, I wanted to point out some features that I was excited to see included at the beginning of the book. I LOVE to see when ontent warnings are included in a trad published book. This is so helpful to so many people. We also love a good map to get our bearings. We get a character list with pronunciations, so we don't keep reading them incorrectly for the whole book. It was also great to get a brief recap of where the trilogy stands going into this book. When the chapters start, we get a slight recap and then are into the action pretty quickly. It is written in first person multi POV, but the chapters are clearly labeled, so we know whose head we are in. I'm interested to see where the rest of the story goes!

Thanks to Entangled/Red Tower and NetGalley for a preview of this book.

Confused why they only put the first three chapters up…? At that point just give us nothing tbh. Can’t wait for the full book, but disappointed in this eARC experience.

This series has me hooked and I don't want to escape. I was so excited to see this available and had to get it IMMEDIATELY to read. Now I'm even more excited for this release and can't wait to dive back into this world created by the fantastic Mai Corland.
