I loved following Jason and Levi’s stories. Jason is an ex magical doctor, he leaves his dad practice to start a veterinarian practice. He thought he was away from magic until Levi, one of the last incubus shows up at his place with a stab wound. Levi’s been stabbed and robbed but he’s only got two weeks to live anyway unless he finds his brother. Jason’s dad also randomly goes missing and are the two connected?!? We follow Levi and Jason on a journey searching for their two missing loved ones. The banter, the spice and the plot 🔥 your next paranormal enemies to lovers read.

Infernal Hearts is a fun and flirty paranormal romance with a charming twist. Jason and Levi have great chemistry, and their banter gives this story an addictive pull. I loved the concept of a reluctant magic user paired with a smooth-talking incubus—especially one with a Southern drawl and a knack for trouble. The supernatural elements are intriguing, and while I did find myself wishing for a bit more backstory and depth around the magical world and Jason’s family legacy, the story still delivers an enjoyable, fast-paced read. If you’re in the mood for something light with a touch of heat, heart, and hellfire, this is a solid choice!

This book game me adult, queer Teen Wolf and I was here for it. This is a paranormal romance following Jason who is a magical vet and Levi who is an incubus. There was an underlying mystery that was interesting and kept me engaged. I liked the tension and the romance and there is one very spicy scene. I would definitely be interested in trying another book from this author.
Thank you to Entangled publishing for my e-ARC!

When I see a book published by Entangled, it's an auto-buy for me. Add it to the shelves! I was super excited to receive this ARC and am grateful for the opportunity to have read it - but unfortunately, this book was not for me.
The characters didn't feel believable to me. Much of the plot development felt forced, and the dialogue between characters didn't feel realistic or natural to me, which made it difficult to feel immersed in the story. I think the book could have benefitted from cutting the first chapter from Jason's perspective - the action felt rushed, and while two major events happen that should pack an emotional punch, I wasn't emotionally invested enough to Jason as a character yet to feel that impact alongside him.
I was also confused about Michael's loyalties. It wasn't clear to me on why he sided with Jason's father instead of Jason himself, and I wanted more insight into that dynamic.
While reading, I felt that I was told more than shown - especially as it came to characters' emotions. Instead of seeing them act or behave in a way congruent with their feelings and experiences, I was told.
The shining star for me in this was Levi's humor - I appreciated his wit and persistent, joyful chaos.
I thought the premise of the book was interesting, but I wished the characters had been fleshed out a bit more, the pacing wasn't so rushed in the beginning, and that the dialogue felt more natural.

Entangled did it again by giving us another story of love with an unexpected twist. This time, we have the tension of a very forthcoming, lustful demon named Levi and an overly compassionate former supernatural healer, Jason, looking to move on from that part of his life.
The opposites attract contrast in this story was incredibly executed. I loved not only the difference between who the characters are and their developments, but their whole persona. It made for a lot of moments where I found myself laughing at their interactions.
The other enjoyable thing was that the story was not in the 11th hour before any resolution. That trope feels very overdone, so it was a breath of fresh air to have a resolution and twist that didn't feel forced or out of the blue.
Thank you, Entangled Publishing and Netgalley, for the ARC opportunity. This honest review has been left voluntarily.

Infernal Hearts by Danny Haliwell
Book Blurb:
Jason Blackwell thought he had finally escaped his father’s world of magical medicine. All he wants is a normal life as a practicing veterinarian. No supernaturals. No unpredictable magic. Just a small town, regular animals, and walking away from his family secrets…and lies.
Until he’s woken in the night by Levi—an incubus attired in a fancy suit with a Southern drawl, too much charm, and an annoying tendency to always get his way. Jason is his only chance to find his missing brother.

What do you get with a broken heart and someone who never really used their heart? Oh such adorableness. These two. Levi and Jason were just so much fun to watch and they were thrown together to accomplish their goals. I think we all know what it feels like to have a broken heart and it was heartwarming to watch this pair work together and stumble their way through "feelings". Cause one of them may not do such things as "feelings". This was light on the paranormal in a good way that it added to the story but did not take it over. I enjoyed seeing their friends interact with them and how each of them kinda handled having an addition the the circle. The whole concept of a Vet who treats magical beings was just so fun also, magical potions and magical healing !! I really enjoyed that concept and aspect of the story.

Last night I thought sure, let’s just throw this one on the kindle, read a couple chapters before I fall asleep, nice and easy night. Suddenly I’m 68% into the book now and this is my second cup of coffee this morning as I write this because I just couldn’t stop reading and instead of 68% I was 2AM closing the last page and wondering why I make these choices.
This book is one of those cozy feeling books with some romance, spice and paranormal thrown in for some very good measure. The characters were funny and the banter between them made them perfect for each other. It felt like a light easy read and I zoomed through it.

This was a really sweet romance.
I liked the storyline, and it did feel refreshing as something I haven’t really read much of before.

I received an e-ARC and am giving my honest review. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this opportunity!!
An incubus pairing up with a veterinarian (who's put all things magic officially in his past after leaving his father's magical medical practice) immediately caught my attention when first reading the summary for this book, and it did not disappoint.
Jason's father was deeply involved in magical medicine, the most trusted magical doctor in the area. But Jason wanted to put it all behind him, start fresh with a new "normal" life as a veterinarian. And it worked, he's a trusted veterinarian with a steady business and a fairly normal life.
Until he gets a frantic knock on his door in the middle of the night, and when he opens it, he finds a man asking for Dr. Blackwell and bleeding black blood. He's come to the wrong Dr. Blackwell, a magical creature at the non-magical practicing son-of-Dr. Blackwell's door. But he's bleeding out and Jason vowed to "do no harm," and shooing this creature off to his father's practice miles away would be sure to kill him. So he ushers the man inside and stitches him up. Much to his dismay, the demon is charming. And not only that, but incredibly used to (magically) getting his way, but it isn't working on Jason.
So when the demon, Levi, tells Jason that he's looking for his brother, who should be somewhere in this town, Jason is hesitant to agree to help. Levi will die in two weeks if he doesn't find his brother, due to an oath from his Maker, and soon Jason is agreeing to the deal when he finds out his father is missing, and it might be connected to Levi's brother. Jason is pulled back into the magical world, helping magical creatures around the town in his father's absence. All the while feeling a distinct flutter in his heart around the incubus he's agreed to help, and was so sure he hated. And the worst part? It's all natural, no incubus magic involved to blame it on.
Can an incubus love someone, truly? And does Jason want to find out? Will he be able to before time runs out for Levi?
This was an absolutely lovely read, a very interesting plot and well thought out magical aspects (absolutely loved the inclusion of Jason being immune to Levi's magic, such a neat way to write an incubus without the iffy consent stuff). The pacing was a bit rushed at times, but if I'm honest, I enjoyed it. Fast-paced books can keep my attention, and this one certainly kept me content. I loved the initial meeting of Levi and Jason, how it showed both of their "masks," so to speak, that they put on for others. It kept a good point of reference for the rest of their relationship, how they interacted and how each one slowly starting becoming their real personalities. It was perfectly humorous, and Levi's character was brilliantly written. I tend to err on the side of caution with incubus characters, never knowing how they'll be portrayed, and Levi was an excellent mixture of that incubus way of turning any and everything sexual, without it becoming repetitive or just downright creepy.
Levi and Jason's relationship flowed nicely. I enjoyed seeing the dual POVs, getting to see them both pine for the other in their own way. It was really nice knowing that it was always reciprocated, just their own worries regarding outside factors that were in the way. Jason's effect on Levi, making him feel things he hadn't felt in a long time, if ever, is a trope I ADORE and it was done so well here. Very nicely spaced out, not all at once dumping of feelings realization.
I thoroughly enjoyed this romance and can't wait to see what the author does next

The characters, storyline, and world-building of this book were phenomenal. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, and it deserves much more love than it's been getting so far. The characters were developed well, and I enjoyed seeing the story play out through their eyes. It's a book that I would recommend to many people, and I look forward to seeing where the author takes the story in any future installments.

Infernal Hearts is a queer paranormal story that offers a lot to love. There’s strong world-building, intriguing supernatural elements, and a storyline that reminded me of Grimm in the best way—the variety and depth of the paranormal characters really stood out.
There are definitely some shining moments in the banter, and a touch of spice, though for me, it didn’t quite hit the "curl-your-toes" level. I found myself wanting just a bit more—more tension, more buildup in the dialogue, and a slightly more drawn-out ending. The conclusion felt a bit rushed compared to the steady build-up earlier in the book.
That said, it's still absolutely worth a read, especially if you're into supernatural dramas with a queer twist. A solid 3 stars from me!

Right from the beginning the banter draws you in. This book is for you if you enjoy a confidant character that loves to flirt, especially with someone who is dead set on ignoring it. Levi is charming and just plain fun - our sunshine. Jason is your classic grump; dead set of focusing solely on his work and avoiding any and all potential entanglements. Here you can expect some testing of wills, as well as some swooning and suspense. While Levi and Jason search for their missing loved ones, they realize that there is something far more sinister than they thought going on. The mystery did keep me guessing. The chemistry between the characters was definitely there, how it felt like, at times, I was being told what to feel, rather than being left to experience the feelings through the writing. Overall, this did not detract from my enjoyment of the story, I just felt that sometimes something was off. I would still recommend this book to anyone looking for a short, mystery filled paranormal romance.
Many thanks to Entangled and NetGalley for a digital advanced copy of the book. The opinions expressed are given freely and are honest and my own.

I absolutely loved this.
Levi and Jason were absolutely adorable and incredible and I had so much fun reading this one. There were some minor continuity issues and stuff that I found but it didn’t really take away from the book so no harm no foul. I loved Levi’s personality and Jason’s stubbornness but the way they came together made so much sense

I want to offer you a deal…”

Until he’s woken.....

This was such a cute MM paranormal urban romance! The world building was pretty easy. Levi as the demon MMC was so loveable and had a good backstory. Jason aka Jay is our human MMC and is also so sweet.
Jay is now a vet but was raised to be a magical doctor by his father in hopes of taking over his practice one day. His father had a huge issue with Jay’s career choice so they had a falling out. His father goes missing shortly thereafter. Right around when Levi ends up on Jay’s porch in need of a magical doctor or else he will die. Levi reveals that he is looking for his brother as they are the two last succubi in the world. Levi and Jay decide to make a deal to help each other find their loved ones. Except Levi has two weeks to find his brother before he vanishes into oblivion.

Thank you Entangled for the chance to read this! Infernal Hearts was a cozy queer paranormal romannce. I love good banter, this did not disapoint. Emotional at times. Great character development! Worth a read!!!

This is a light, inoffensive paranormal romance. It’s a quick read, solidify written and decently paced. It’s also a quick read and I was able to get through it in only a few hours. I did, however, find it a little … tepid. Not in the sense of the spice scenes, just in my personal investment and interest in the book. While I appreciate the story didn’t go with obvious red herrings, it also didn’t do anything with the world. There are phoenixes and vampires, incubi and faeries, kitchen sinks, trees, and beer. And they are all given an equal amount of weight in how much effort goes into either describing them, or giving them a place in this world.
It’s the sort of paranormal fantasy that I, personally, dislike. I’d rather fewer characters that feel real, a world that feels solid and grounded rather than the possibility of anything and everything. How is a phoenix supposed to be special when it’s just as common as vampires and faeries? How is one of only two incubi in the world, one of the rarest creatures in the world, given the same vibe as a receptionist? Other than being a main character, there’s nothing about Levi that stands out as being … anything.
The whole world and the people in it are just samey-samey, and kind of boring. No one cares about anything, and therefore, neither do I. After all, I”m reading this book through their POVs, and can only care as much as they make me. So, personally, this is a pass.
Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for the ARC.

This was definitely different than a lot of the books I read and I’m not mad about it! Queer, paranormal romance is definitely not my go to genre, but this one was very interesting.
Although I will say this started slow, it picked up for me about halfway and I definitely enjoyed the second half of the book the most! Our two main characters, Jason and Levi, were both great and I enjoyed seeing them find each other.
I think my main complaint was the pacing of the book. It was a little off and I felt like it was kind of drug out until the last 20% or so but the ending was great and I loved the HEA we were able to see. Some of the side characters were great too and would love certain ones to have their own story for sure!

Jason comes from a long line of supernatural healers, but after his mother dies by a paranormal creature, he wants to live a normal life as a veterinarian, away from the supernatural and magic. When his healer dad goes missing, he reluctantly makes a deal with an incubus demon to find his dad in exchange for finding the demons lost brother, thrusting him back into the paranormal world.
I enjoyed this paranormal M/M romance—it was a cozy mystery, with cute banter set in a small town. I loved Levi’s charm and the chemistry between him and Jason felt real. The mystery element helped with the pacing and the story was well developed. The scenes where he encountered the different paranormal creatures were my favorites. I predicted the ending to a certain extent but still had some twists that left me surprised.
A big thanks to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for this e-ARC!
