Infernal Hearts kept my attention from page one. It also kept me going until the end. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. The way things interconnected helped move the story forward. The ending had me more than a little surprised.

This book wasn't for me. while I did read it and enjoy some parts of the books it just wasn't my type. Thank you for allowing me the chance to read.

Unfortunately, this one wasn’t it for me and I’m disappointed because I was so intrigued by the premise of this paranormal MM romance. A vet for magical creatures & a demon incubus team up to find their lost family members? Sounds promising!

The constant pop culture references to things like Quickbooks, Grindr, Calvin Klein, Androids/iPhones, Target, and even Tylenol PM took me out of the story too much though. The banter between the two MMCs was okay, but most of the other dialogue (& sometimes the inner monologues) was clunky enough that none of the relationships between characters seemed at all believable.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

this was genuinely such a fun ride. queer paranormal romance is very much my vibe and the main characters completely won me over, especially levi. his and jason’s dynamic was messy in the best way, full of banter, tension and some very solid spicy moments.

the worldbuilding was incredible and so entertaining, though it did lose momentum, especially towards the end. the pacing felt a little messy, getting too fast to actually be able to enjoy what was going on.

still, i was absolutely here for the vibes and the chemistry, and this book delivered exactly that. i’ll definitely be reading more from this author.

thank you to Entangled Publishing for this ARC—opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Thank you to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for providing the early copy (e-ARC).🫶🏻

Uh, hello?! Jason and Levi are so freaking cute, and the way Jason resists Levi every time he tries to flirt with him is honestly so entertaining. I love that this was my first queer book and I LOVED IT SO MUCH!!! 😩

Infernal Hearts is perfect if you're looking for an easy read with swoon-worthy moments, tons of flirting (mostly thanks to Levi 🤭), and of course, magic and adventure. It's available now on Kindle Unlimited and in paperback!

This book was literally all I was looking for when deciding what book to read next. First of all, it the perfect length to read when you’re between series. Secondly, the combo of cozy and spicy and cheesy and emotion and action was perfect to me. I love when a book can combine those in a way that it’s hard to put down. Overall it was such a fun read!

This is such a fun one. Magic, darkness, and desire war to win the hearts and minds of our characters. The struggle and back and forth was so well done.

I really enjoyed this quick read!
Although some parts felt a little rushed and I feel like the whole Micheal aspect didn't really add much to the story for me.
Really liked Jason & Levi. Kinda grumpy X sassy goin on there.
Magic was interesting but I wish there was more of it!
Overall a pretty quick and cute read

Jason Blackwell has seen firsthand how dangerous magical medical care can be, so he's stepped away from the world, costing him his relationship with his dad and his fiancé. It's a lonely life, but it's more important to stay safe. At least that's what he thinks until Levi, a handsome-as-sin incubus, shows up bleeding at his door just as his father mysteriously disappears. Levi needs to find his missing brother or he's going to die in two weeks, and the only clue he has is a feeling that pulls him to Jason's small town. Jason needs help within the magical community to figure out where his dad could be. They make a bargain to help each other, but will they survive it?

I'm sad to say that this is a mid-story. Jason and Levi are a cute couple who banter with the best of them, if only that mood continued past their first time together instead of devolving into emo worrying about what the other might think. They go from being fun to stressing without doing anything bout the things that are stressing them.

It has fun and romantic parts, but things feel equally long-winded and rushed, which makes for some frustrating reading. Levi is on a very tight time limit, but he's perfectly fine just hanging out while Jason does his day job. And Jason's last living family disappeared without a trace or explanation, and he's still going about his day like it's no big deal. There is a lot of just talking, hanging out, letting time pass before they're off, rushing into danger to face things they don't understand. We get a chapter of action only for there to be almost no follow-through until a few chapters later, when it's once again all about rushing into danger.

The story's okay and the characters have their fun moments, but it never really caught my attention enough to make me want to keep reading in order to discover what's what. In the end, it couldn't make it past being just a supernatural romance I read.

Happy thanks to NetGalley and Entangled: Amara for the read!

3.5 rounded up

This book had a very strong start! I loved that it was a queer paranormal story! We follow Jason, a human who has completely stepped away from the magical world, and Levi, an incubus looking for his brother. The two team up to help solve this mystery of this small town. This is a classic rivals(enemies?) to lovers romance that I think many will enjoy!

Although the start of this book was strong, I feel like the pacing about mid way through until the end was a bit off. Some parts felt very sped up and almost like they came out of nowhere. I also wish we saw more of them warming up to each other. Although I did think they were very cute with each other!

I also wish the ending was a bit different, I feel like it was a bit weird that some of the people got a redemption in the end. I wish their characters weren't magically better people or forgiven in the end.

Overall, I did enjoy this book, but the pacing was a bit off/rushed in my opinion. However, I would still recommend to people if you enjoy Paranormal Romances!

“After all, the only thing scarier than him leaving is him dying”

Thank you to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for providing this ARC for me to read and review.

We start our story in a small town where we meet our MMC, Jason, who is a doctor for creatures. Not just the four-legged kind but the magical kind as well. Jason struggles with his role in caring for magical creatures after his mother was killed by one accidentally. This struggle sets off a series of events that includes Jason losing his fiancee and being on the outs with his father.

Fast forward three months and Jason opens a practice taking care of only the four-legged creatures (or so he thinks). We meet our other MMC Levi, when he ends up on Jason’s front door. Levi is an incubus and is on a Life or Death (his life or death) mission and coincidentally, Jason’s father goes missing. These two decide to work together to find what they each are looking for.

I had high hopes for this book as the story is promising and I love a good demon love interest but I struggled with loving this book. there is a time line that needs to be met but throughout the story, there just doesn’t seem to be any real sense of urgency. Life just goes on, Jason goes to work, Levi distracts him and they snoop around some but nothing that exudes the seriousness of the situation presented. This book really isn’t a long read but felt long because I was just waiting for something to happen. Even though the story did pick up steam towards the end, for the most part I felt like it just meandered.

I thought Jason and Levi were sweet. Levi is quick-witted with smooth word play that makes you smirk when you read it. Jason is sweet even with his walls up and reading how Levi breaks them down is heart-warming. I did enjoy their story as a couple.

Overall, I think this is a sweet story but not overly deep.

Tropes in this story:

Sunshine/Grumpy

Unfortunately I dont think this book was for me. I like the premise but it fell short of the mark for me personally. I definitely think it would be great for others! The writing itself was well done and articulated. Id like to see more of the authors personal style in their next books as it felt slightly generalized. Thank you for providing me with a copy!

I quite enjoyed this paranormal romance, it’s a shorter book (267 pages print length) so it moves fast, and starts right away with the action. To be able to balance world building with character ARC in a short novel is not easy and the author did a great job of it. I loved the dynamic of an incubus and a healer, the juxtaposition of a “demon” who has a kind heart, excellent banter, and also a rawness of emotion and letting down of walls. Becuase the book was shorter the ending felt a bit rushed, I think this book could have been expanded, the timeline is just two weeks, but a lot happenend in two weeks. An extra 50 pages would have kept the flow and pace and detail that was given for the first 3/4th/ of the story.
Overall though, a lovely story about love in the unexpected places, and the monsters that can hide behind lies.

DNF at 35%. I just unfortunately could not form an attachment to this story or the characters. I was hoping for more magic and world-building than this provided. I found myself confused frequently with the narrative, and while I enjoy good banter I felt like that is all that I read with very little plot.

The story is cute and the mystery was intriguing but without the spicy scene, it felt more like a YA book. A lot of scenes felt rushed and the romance wasn't as intense as I hoped it would be. I was just expecting more from a incubi and magical practitioner. I love this magical world the author created, I just wish there was more of it. But it was a great quick read and I do love Levi and his sassiness. Rani is definitely a force to reckon with and I love her and Levi's friendship.

An Incubus gets stabbed with a magical dagger and walks into a "paranormal" vet's office... it sounds like the beginning of a joke, but what it actually is is the beginning of a beautiful story that shows how no matter how you see love, it truly can change everything.

Jason and Levi, they're as different as can be and yet somehow I wanted them to work, I wanted them to have a happy ending, I wanted them to have the ending that neither of them thought they could have.

I know I'm a day late for pub day but I wanted to reread that ending before I put my final thoughts into words. Those thoughts finally fell into one that encompassed how I felt after this book, believe, in love, in magic, in possibilities, and even if the ending doesn't look how you thought it would, it will be ok.

I do have to say this, while I'm normally pretty picky about romance and spice (I will fully admit to changing ratings by a star or more based on spice being needed and/or well done), this book does it really, really well, it's the sweetest love story and the spice, there is spice and it makes sense, shows vulnerability it makes you feel for these characters and what they're going through speciallyly when even they don't know what tomorrow holds.

One final thought, I've never wanted a big fluffy dog more just to be able to name him Grover or maybe Snuffleupagus.

Thank you to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for providing a copy of this e-book. I have voluntarily read and reviewed it, and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Small town romance between a grumpy doctor and an enigmatic demon. Oh, and they need to partner up to solve both of their issues. What could go wrong? It’s a chaotic and wholesome medium-slow burn during a quest of life or death. Plot twists and investigation and magic and a cute dog named Grover. HEA 💜

Fav Quotes:
“Well, fuck. I don’t think I’ve ever been jealous of my dog before.”
“How good do think this guy is?” “He just turned into a cloud and flew off into the night. I’d say pretty fucking good.”
“I’m a sex demon. This is kind of my thing.”

In this queer, paranormal romance, Jason Blackwell has escaped the world of magical medicine. That is until Levi, a demon incubus, shows up on his doorstep in search of his brother. Jason makes a deal with Levi to help find his brother and find Jason's missing father.

What I liked the most about this book were the characters.
Jason is a very rational thinker, and Levi is very sweet.
There is great character growth between both of them! I think there was a lot of context missing, though. More information about Levi's maker, how Jason's father got him into magical medicine, etc. I feel like I didn't know the characters. The writing was fine and easy to read. I honestly would've liked this better if it was 100 pages longer! I would've been engaged more.

This was cute! I love ‘love stories’ that have an underlying theme or plot to them. I’m giving it 4 stars because I wished it was longer with a few more supernatural details or elements included.

The grumpy/sunshine vibes between Levi and Jason was chef’s kiss. The foreshadowing was excellent and although I had an idea of what was to come, I did NOT see the twist at the end coming at all!!!!

I love a good queer romance and this one is no exception. Thank you to Entangled Publishing for the free eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Slow burn MM romance with paranormal contracts, tension, banter, broken trust and found family.

The romance between Jason and Levi was so sweet! Their grumpy x sunshine dynamic made me laugh. I loved the tension and banter with them and I also really enjoyed the slow burn.

I personally would have liked to see more depth in both the characters and the story. Now it felt like everything happened really fast, without much backstory or explanation.
For me the characters came across a bit surface level and one dimensional. I also would have loved to see more world building.
