An ambitious novel, The Ignoble Lie stumbles a bit out of the gate as we're introduced to a wide cast of characters from across the globe. It takes some time to find its footing, but once it does, the story moves along at a brisk, but not overwhelming pace. 
Despite being largely very readable, there are several heavy info dumps coupled with some insufferable interactions between the lead characters. 
The research and historical aspects of the story are the most engaging. They kept me going and ultimately made this an enjoyable read.
If you're a fan of political/religion-based thrillers and particularly enjoy the journey more than a perfect endgame, this is worth checking out.

A political scandal, a kidnapping with a strange twist, conspiracies, a secret society and the hunt for a treasure in a race against the clock this book has it all! The story was really good, but I didn't really connect with Zady and Scott. Zady is quite abrasive in her approach to everything and Scott comes across as indecisive and self-doubting, although he does come into his own when the chips are down! But, overall, I really enjoyed the story!
