Kayce and Raines story was so perfect, this was forbidden, Angsty, PASSION, traumatic past’s, and down right dirty🤤
Elliot rose knows how to reel us in and keep us on the edge of our seats!! This entire series has been amazing and saving the rain was chefs kiss!!

Bareback bronc riders who are also stepbrothers & an injury that puts this dual into close proximity after years apart. The vibes in this book take you for quite a ride. 😉
This was my first MM romance & I really enjoyed it. There's angst, age gap, rivals to lovers, a forbidden love & oh so spicy 🥵 The tension between Kayce & Raine was just electric. They both had hard lives growing up & found love where they least expected. And of course I have to mention my favorite line ever, “I'll always be here to protect you". This line right here broke me. Raine has always & will always protect Kayce. I thought that was just so beautiful. Ms. Rose you had me tearing up.
I also really loved how well written Kayce's journey was. How he was wrestling with his identity. How he opened up to his friends & family. Having Raine supporting him throughout it all. It was just done perfectly. I also can't forget the cameos. I loved seeing many of the characters come into play. Especially Colt Wilder. This book was just a perfect close to the entire series.

If. you love a tattooed cowboy, MM, forbidden romance like me... you're going to enjoy this one! I enjoyed not only the plot of this book, but how easy the writing style was. This will definitely be a book I reread when the audio comes out! I can't wait to see these characters brought to life with teddy and dane!

Where do I even begin with this review? I’m still kinda speechless.
Our sweet boy Kayce is the local rodeo hotshot and very popular with the ladies. That is, until one fateful night he discovers that he miiiiight swing the other way. Enter Raine, the STEPBROTHER who (allegedly) despises him and took on a new job in Crimson Ridge. They inevitably run into each other time and again and what started out as loathing evolves into a delicious pull towards each other they don’t stand a chance to resist.
The moment it snaps was so freaking good!! The way Kayce experiences his first full on physical contact with a man was exhilarating to witness and Elliott did an incredible job bringing it onto the pages.
Mr. Raine, Sir. You definitely know what you’re doing. The mouth on this man y’all. You are not ready. The mix of praise and degradation was intoxicating and I turned putty in his hands from just reading his words.
Kayce was put through it in this one y’all, I kept wondering how much more a beautiful soul can bear until it breaks irreparably. NO ONE deserves a HEA as much as my baby Kayce and I was so freaking proud of him for overcoming all the crap he had to deal with in his life.
I think this book altered my brain chemistry and I’ll forever be in awe of the talent Elliott Rose possesses. Can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next!

Elliott Rose's first MM book and so good !
Kayce's journey figuring out himself and his sexuality with the help of Kayce figuring out his sexuality and his journey with Raine was so emotional and impactful!
The book is spicy 🔥

This book was absolutely stunning.
Saving the Rain was the most emotional book out of the series. I feel like they just kept getting deeper and deeper as the series went on. More trauma. More sadness. More grief.
Both of the MMC’s have a past. A very brutal one at that. They keep it from each other like the plague, which only brought them together more in the end.
Kayce is a character that I have actually liked from the beginning, regardless of how foul he seemed from book 1. He always had the “golden boy” charm. The way he ended up so innocent around Rain ? Made me sputter just as much as he did.
Rain was gruff and yummy. Reminded me a lot of Uncle Zaddy Storm (ifykyk). Hard-working, dedicated, protective, delicate and hidden past, and VERY dominant. Me likey. A lot 🥵💀
Together? At first these two were a train wreck waiting to happen. But seeing Kayce open up — about both his past, his current injuries, and his feelings and possible future, was such a welcome thing to experience.
I resonated deeply with Kayce; his mom, his childhood, his feelings, even his future being at stake now that he had an injury. I think it’s why I read this one so slowly and had to take a while. Breathe it in. Because it hurt. It did a number on me and my tear ducts, too, I won’t lie.
I feel a lot lighter after reading Saving the Rain, and it’s been a while since I’ve had that feeling from a book. So for that, thank you, Elliot, for putting life into words and making it healing.
And for making two hella sexy and fun characters while you were at it.

Review: I loved this book! This book follows Raine and Kayce. Kayce gets injured and that leaves him no other option than to ask Raine for help. Kayce has never been attracted to a man before but can feel the tension between him and Raine. Will he be strong enough to make a move .The banter in this book was great! I could not put the book down. I loved the tension and angst in this book. Raine was very patient with Kayce, while Kayce figured himself out. I really enjoyed Kayce’s self discovery journey in this book. I can’t wait ti see what is next.

Elliott Rose’s first MM romance did not disappoint!!! The angst was unmatched. Kayce figuring out his sexuality and his journey and growth throughout this story was incredibly well written. Raine was giving major German Sheperd and was soft only for Kayce melted my heart. While this had some emotional elements of course in true Elliott Rose fashion this was SPICY!! Pick this one up and you won’t be disappointed

Oh-fucking-k, I was NOT expecting to sob my damn head off at the ending of this book.🥹😭 I thought I just signed up for some cowboy stepbrothers slapping salamis. Damn Elliott, you ruined me in the best way possible. I couldn’t have asked for a better ending to this series. This book was so beautifully written, an absolute masterpiece.🤌🏻✨
Uncle Storm will always be my number one man, but this one is 100% top in the series for me. Incredible.🥹
I also think this book just surpassed God of Fury as my favorite MM romance of all time. 🙌🏻 Kayce and Raine were everything my heart needed and more🖤

Oh Kayce....sweet, broken boy.
I loved this MM romance. Once Kayce gave into his feelings? I started swinging my metaphorical feet like a school girl. Once Raine's walls were down? I was gone for. The climax of this book also had the tears threatening to fall, so maybe have the tissues ready at about 90%.
I did struggle the first half. While the book is set in America, the author is from New Zealand, and some of the phrasing would just make me do a double take because it did not feel natural. Honestly, it would take me out of the story for a bit. I also struggled just getting into the story. It just felt like it took too long to get somewhere. Also, this was marketed as an age gap (YAY) but 5 years does not feel like a a marketable age gap to me. It's just a...thing.
Overall, I'd recommend this for people looking for a taboo (stepbrothers) cowboy romance, small town, sexual awakening, or found family story. Because this will cover all those points! While the 4th in the Crimson Ridge, I have only read one other book in the series and do not feel like I missed anything so this can absolutely be read as a standalone.

Wow. The end of an era & what a beautiful ending it is 😍 Kayce & Raine have stolen my heart and I simply do not want it back.
This was my first MM romance & Kayce & Raine are going to be tough to top. This story was so full of heart, overcoming past trauma, embracing you authentic self, and learning to love through uncertainty.
Kayce and Raine are stepbrothers, their childhood defined by pain & survival. Kayce always believed Raine hated him, so when they cross paths again in Crimson Ridge, their relationship is nonexistent. But after an accident forces them to spend time together, their pull toward each other becomes undeniable. Watching them slowly lower their walls and grow vulnerable with one another made me downright giddy. Not to mention Raine’s mouth had me blushing right alongside Kayce 😮💨
Crimson Ridge is so special. I’m sad it’s over but know I’ll keep visiting again and again. I’m such a fan of Elliott Rose and cannot wait to see what else she has up her sleeves.
Huge thanks to NetGalley for the eARC!

This was my first MM romance and it did NOT disappoint. I had read other MM’s but there was always a female involved too. This was a great story. I thought the way Racine was a strong person for Kasey was adorable. As someone who went through recovery from alcohol at one time or another, I enjoyed seeing it represented in a book

Oh Kayce, I have been waiting for this moment ever since book 1's Chasing the Wild, for you to have your moment. And Boy Did You! I feel like while we know you've been piecing yourself together the last few years, that Saving the Rain was a redemption book for you in ways, and for us to be understanding in others! Your story is one of perseverance and bravery, whether you see it that way or not. I loved it. I loved seeing how you went from a drunk/thieving ex in Book 1 to being sober, besties with Sage (of all people lol), hard worker, and your dad's matchmaker lol. Seriously, Kayce found himself, put the work in and he's one of my favorite characters in Elliott's world now. I just love his journey so much.
Raine... you are the sexy ex-rodeo star cowboy that I didn't know I needed. I was irritated by you at first, I can't lie because I felt you were picking on my guy Kayce. But as we delved into your history, and that of yours/Kayce's together, I found you to be a beautiful human and thank you for watching Kayce's back. I appreciate the love and care you showed Kayce, and you gave him the strength to be honest and open about himself. That epilogue scene, I didn't want it to end but also, I think that's one of the most beautiful moments in this whole series. It's my favorite.
I loved this book. There was a lot of tension as Kayce struggled to accept that he may be gay or bisexual. I thought this was important as it represents so many individuals, especially ones who live in certain areas in the country. There was also a lot of tension between Kayce and Raine when Raine arrives in town- they are stepbrothers and Raine and Kayce didn't get along as teenagers. Add that rivalry to mixed emotions of being attracted to your stepsibling all these years later... it was good!
Saving the Rain had a lot of flashback scenes mixed with forced proximity that I love! I really enjoyed both Kayce and Raine's journeys and learning their back history. Like I said, it made me understand Kayce better and appreciate Raine on a level I didn't know I would need to. Also, this book is sexy! Definitely check it out!

100/10 recommend—read this ASAP!!
This book is everything I could’ve wanted and more. An angsty, emotional, slow-burn MM stepbrother romance that absolutely wrecked me in the best way.
I’ll be honest, Kayce was not my favorite back in Chasing the Wild, but wow… the growth he goes through in Saving the Rain is incredible. Seeing his vulnerability, his struggle to accept himself, and ultimately, to accept love? It had me tearing up more times than I can count. I wasn’t ready for how much he’d end up meaning to me by the end.
And Raine?? My god. The protectiveness, the dominance, the spicy talk?? He was made for Kayce. Every interaction between them was electric, and their chemistry built with the perfect amount of tension. That slow-burn payoff? Chef’s kiss.
The plot twist with Raine’s father…no words!
This book felt like a healing journey for both the characters and me as a reader. It’s raw, romantic, and deeply emotional.
Saving the Rain leaves you longing for healing, for confession, for that perfect moment of surrender when two souls finally collide and say, “never not obsessed with you.” A perfect, fiery finale to a series that has truly become a fictional home.

This forbidden romance novel is one I will never forget! It is extremely unique and had me at the edge of my seat towards the end. It is very emotional and had me crying throughout reading the book. A lot of things happen in this western M/M romance. The depth this book came with was incredible. I see this becoming a movie in the future! If it doesn’t, I will be both surprised and disappointed. The extremely powerful and adventurous ride this took me on is unmatched with any other book I have ever read! Both of the male main characters were lovable and it came with extra spicy heat!
It’s western, with a rodeo cowboy setting. It is considered a taboo romance, because they are step brothers. It’s not just an enemies to lovers romance, but a rivals to lovers romance! I love the atmospheric, small town setting in the book. Even though I know this book might not be for everyone, I would recommend trying to give it a chance. You might be surprised at how amazing this book truly is. This story was believable, the characters were multilayered and it was beautifully written. Overall, I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars!
Content warnings include trauma and explicit sexual content. This book gave me the movies “Cruel Intentions” mixed in with “Brokeback Mountain” vibes!
Thank you to NetGalley, author Elliott Rose and Kensington Publishing | Kensington Replenishment Titles for this eARC in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
This book is expected to be published on August 26, 2025!

this was a sweet and spicy MM cowboy romance!!! Raine brought all the grumpy doberman vibes and Kayce had all the golden retriever vibes. I loved their dynamic and how they helped each other overcome past and present trauma.
I highly recommend reading others from the series so you understand other relationships, but it isn't completely necessary.

HOLY SHEEIIITTTTT 🥵
This book. These men. Omg. I shouldn’t be surprised, really. The entire Crimson Ridge series is spectacular.
But Kayce & Raine??? Hot hot hot hot. I cannot handle it. It was so nice to see Kayce grow up and evolve into the man he did. He was such a shit.
I have zero complaints or notes about Raine 🤤

So I have ARC read for all of these books except one. I LOVE Elliotts' writing and the tropes/spice work for me. However, this was an MM romance and MY first full on MM at that.
I think MM just might not be for me. I don't think I understand all the dynamics that go into it. Other than that, I did feel like the first half of the book was a little dragged on. But at the end of the day, I did enjoy the book. It just wasn't my favorite in the series.

Kayce Wilder might have one of my favorite redemption arcs that I have ever read because what do you MEAN he went from Layla’s deadbeat alcoholic ex boyfriend to this sweet hurting baby that just needs to be loved?! I absolutely loved seeing Kayce slowly figure himself out and during this book and the way his dynamic with Raine evolved was EVERYTHING. Raine is the grumpiest of grumps and it made him the perfect match to Kayce’s golden retriever energy. The way he begrudgingly cared for Kayne when he needed it and that evolved into their relationship felt so genuine. I loved seeing them both work to overcome the trauma of their youth and build lives for themselves that made them happy. Raine and Kayce are BY FAR my favorite Crimson Ridge couple(Sorry Daddy Colt 😂) and I am so glad Kayce finally got his HEA. Now I am going to need books on the Hayes brothers because I loved getting glimpses of Knox and Chaos and I need more.

Thank you so much Kensington & NetGalley for the opportunity to receive this arc in exchange for my honest opinion.
I’ve absolutely loved the crimson ridge series and I’m so glad we got Kayce’s story . Stepbrothers , the angst , the heat .. wow ! I loved both of their back stories and hoe Raine was always there for Kayce even when they lived under the same roof .
Their story broke my heart and put it back together again . It was so wholesome and beautiful . Elliot always knocks it out of the park and this was no different , Her writing grasped my attention from start to finish , I literally laughed out loud at some of the lines Raine used ,
Amazing work way to end my favorite series ever !
