Eight seconds is all it takes, can you handle it?

This is a great story behind the mystery of Kayce. I really enjoyed reading his backstory and learning why he struggled so much in the prior books of the series. I love how he turned his life around and was able to learn to be okay with himself and who he is, mentally, physically, emotionally, and sexually.

Raine in this story, took a while for me to fall for. I wish he had opened up more to Kayce versus Kayce learning about Raines past through others. Raine always expected Kayce to be open and honest whereas Raine was just closed off. I love a grumpy man, but I needed him to provide just a smidge more for me emotionally. I am happy though that Raine helped Kayce become more comfortable in his own skin, and helped him work through his inner turmoil.

A great story overall between the two, passion was definitely felt between the two characters! I will say I wish Kayce took more charge at times during some moments but can understand that’s just not his persona at this time or maybe ever. Either way, this book will leave you blushing from this wild ride! So for those who enjoy a steamy MM cowboy romance. This one’s for you!

Emotional, tender, and seriously steamy - Saving the Rain took me by surprise in the best possible way. It's a beautifully written romance with real heart, layered characters, and a sensual, slow-burn heat that builds into something unforgettable. The emotional depth and spice are perfectly balanced, making this feel both grounded and escapist. Absolutely loved every second.

i'm not crying over these cowboys...

I absolutely adore the Crimson Ridge series, and have been so looking forward to Kayce and Rainers story and oh boy it did not disappoint. This may be my favourite of the series.

It's filled with angst, yearning and such beautiful tender moments whilst being so whitty, spicy and interesting.
These broken cowboys have my whole heart, the way they grow to find themselves and then eachother is devastatingly beautiful.

There are sO many quotes i highlighted but to avoid spoilers i'll include just a few :

"If I don't hold him up, who else is gonna?"

"I had nowhere else to go"

"Bet you're blushing for me, aren't you, pretty boy?"

"He's got asthma you shit for brains"

Ugh I knew Kacey’s story was going to be so good and so hard at times as well.

Raine and Kacey were perfect for each other. Both facing some past demons while trying to make their lives better. To be better people. They both face those demons.

They loved and fought hard. They also fought for each other. Knowing our boy Kacey he had some darkness in his past. Fighting his way to a better life was important. Raine only helped there. Raine also had some lessons to learn and truths to face. Got there a little quicker but he stuck it out and stuck around.

I’m so glad Kacey got his redemption and the love that he deserved. Ugh it was so good. I’m sad to see this world go. Maybe we can get a glimpse back at some point. You know just a check in on our Crimson Ridge family.

I absolutely loved Saving the Rain. This is my favorite cowboy romance series! The tropes in this story are step brothers, angsty rivals to lovers and found family. I loved the "I had nowhere to go" moment. I will not forget that scene! I can't wait to read Elliott Rose's next book release. :)

OMG!!!! Where do I even begin!? This was my first full on MM book. I’ve read MFM before and to be honest I didn’t know if straight MM was going to do it for me, but my gawddd. I LOVE Kayce and Raine so much 😭 you Ms Elliot Rose have dazzled me with each book in this series! This story had such raw longing and scorching hot chemistryyyy. The tension build up was remarkable (as always) THE SPICE WAS SPICINGGGGGGG and the character devlopement was top tier👌🏼Kayce and Rain aren’t perfect, they had hurt each other and defintely hit a bunch of bumps along the way, but the way the evolved was *chefs kiss* 👏🏼

Kayce- I loved his growth, his journey was so uplifting. he went from being reckless and careless to fully determined to turn his life around. From being so unsure of himself to knowing exactly what he wants and WHO he wants. He is truly the sweetest 🥹

Raine- he was such a powerful anchor. Always takes control. The way they couldn’t stand eachother from when they were younger but him always protecting Kayce in the most unbelieveable ways tore at my heartstrings 🥹 and let’s not forget the MOUTH ON HIM. MY GOD! 😍 I swear Elliot’s MMC’s have the filthiest mouths 🙌🏼 WHAT A MAN YOU ARE ZEKE RAINER!

Saving The Rain was a PERFECT ending to this series. And I only wish it wasn’t over!

“I’ve never known what it’s like to love this wholly. Every part of me is attached to you. If you go somewhere without me, I’m coming straight after because I don't want to do any of this without you.” 🤍

Pack your bags babe, we’re heading back to Crimson Ridge but this time for my most anticipated book of the series. Saving the Rain is the fourth and final installment in the Crimson Ridge series and while it can be read as a standalone, I cannot recommend this series enough. Each and every single book touches on real, raw, and vulnerable topics.. and pulled at my heart strings. Crimson Ridge will always feel like a fictional home to me. Everything Elliott Rose writes feels poetic and profound, and never anything short of emotion evoking. This isn’t just a cowboy romance, but rather a redemption arc, love and loss, character growth and development, and self discovery. I’ll never get over these two boys and their thing being “never not obsessed with you.” 🤍🤧 These two cowboys have my entire heart.

Kayce’s entire world comes crashing down around him in the matter of seconds when he’s left injured after a rodeo ride gone wrong. Now he’s in desperate need of help to run the ranch, and the last person he ever expected to help, is the one helping. Raine, his rival at the rodeo and his estranged step brother. But then being rivals isn’t even the catastrophe.. Kayce has never been attracted to a man before, let alone his stepbrother. The more they’re around each other the thicker the tension builds, and the more Kayce finds himself thinking about Raine.

🖤 “never not obsessed with you”

Thank you so much @elliottroseauthor @kensingtonbooks & @btc_books for not only allowing me to read Saving the Rain in advance, but for sending me a beautiful physical arc. I cannot wait to see what comes next in the Elliott Rose universe, and fall for more fictional characters by one of my favorite authors.

Saving the Rain by Elliott Rose releases August 26, 2025 and is now available for preorder. 🤍

What an emotional, heart-wrenching, and beautiful ride. At times, reading this felt like clinging onto the back of a bronc, heart-racing and gasping for air; and in others, it was like seeing the morning rays of sunlight crest over a breathtaking mountain view, lingering and gentle and filled with so much awe. This book had so much spice (a romance between two smoking hot, bareback bronc riding cowboy stepbrothers, one with a dirty mouth and the other a whining mess, hello?) but it also had so much heart.

I felt myself falling deeper in love with this book every time Kayce didn’t think he was worthy of love and every time Raine protected him like he was and more—I have veritable essays in my Kindle notes over all my thoughts of their relationship and their dynamic and how they just work so perfectly together. I knew I would love this book, but I didn’t expect that these two cowboys would so completely floor me with their connection that is all the more nuanced and deep due to their complicated history. Elliott Rose deftly sprinkles brief flashbacks between their present day encounters that really emphasize the gravity of their emotions and how they have changed, but also most importantly, how they have also stayed constant. These two have absolutely become my favorite couple from this series, and Kayce, my favorite character.

Saving the Rain by Elliot Rose is soft, heavy, and full of heart. It is not your typical fast-paced dystopian story. This one takes its time and leans into the emotional weight of loss, healing, and connection.

The writing is gentle but impactful. There were moments that stopped me because a single sentence carried so much emotion. It is clear the author wrote this with intention and care.

The romance builds slowly. It feels natural, not forced, and it fits the tone of the story perfectly. There is a quiet kind of hope threaded throughout, even when everything around the characters feels uncertain or broken.

What stood out most to me was the way this book handles grief. It does not rush it or try to fix it. It just lets it exist alongside love and survival. That balance felt honest and real.

This is a quiet kind of powerful. It stayed with me after I finished, and I think it will stick with a lot of readers in the same way.

This is now my favorite of all the Crimson Ridge books! Kayce is the ex-boyfriend of Layla who is the FMC of book one, Chasing the Wild. Eliott Rose really knows how to write a redemption story. I did not really care for Kayce in book one. But in Saving the Rain you get backstory and it really shows you a whole other side to Kayce and all the work he has put into himself to be better and to come out of the hole he dug himself into in the first book. This is also a stepbrother romance. So Raine is his older stepbrother. And they it is more of a hate-to-love romance situation going on here. The tension in this book was top notch. I really do think that as this series comes along Elliott Rose has continued to hone her craft even more. I am absolutely in love with Raine and Kayce and their story.
Thank you to Kensington for the complimentary copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Elliott Rose doesn’t flinch from the messy. This is a story of recovery, masculinity, and love cracking through decades of repression like thunder over dry soil. The ranch setting is atmospheric, the sexual tension is toe-curling, and the emotional stakes are sky high. Saddle up, friend. Saving the Rain is the kind of book that sneaks up on you, ropes your heart, and doesn’t let go.

When I saw the trope list for this book, I knew I was a GONER. This series has been such a fun (and spicy) ride and I was more than ready for Kayce's redemption arc. Annnnd with a hot stepbrother cowboy? Pleaaaaaase. This story was addicting, spicy, forbidden, delicious, and full of what we've all come to love and expect from Crimson Ridge, including many cameos from our very best fictional friends. Raine is the perfect match for Kayce, putting him in his place, and teaching him some tough love. If you've already read and loved this series, you'll be head over hells for Kayce and Raine. The perfect ending to the series.

What you can expect :
- mm
- stepbrothers
- enemies to lovers
- redemption arc
- hurt / comfort
- backwards hat
- dirty talk

Thank you Netgalley and Kensington Publishingfor the free e-arc. My opinions are being left voluntarily. I am absolutely a fan of step siblings and this was so dang good. It was the slow burnest, with so much tension and passion and just done sonso well. I loved how they stuck up for eachother and how they stayed hy eachother sides. The side characters and sprinkling of seeing past characters make an appearance. I am excited for thenext book. My only tiny thing it it could have been shortened a bit...

Suggest giving it a try if you read MM Open door romance

4.5/5☆

Elliott Rose really took us for a ride (pun intended) with this last chapter. I have been waiting for Kayce's story & it was such an interesting journey. That boy is so much more than we saw in the previous books. And this push & pull romance had me in all my feels. There is such vulnerability as this is not just Kayce's awakening but his journey into seeing himself as more than just his past failures.

We once again have a taboo romance between Kayce & his estranged step-brother Raine. They are like oil & water, Raine being older & having a chip on his shoulder from having to always protect Kayce when they were young. Now being in the same small town, around the same group of friends, there is no escaping one another - and both Kayce & Raine realize that their feelings towards one another is more than they both ever expected.

There is this simmering attraction between them that comes off as angsty tension. Raine is the dominant, knows who he is cowboy who needles at Kayce to say what he wants, be who he is - despite Kayce not fully knowing those answers yet. Kayce's journey is one of such vulnerability - he is struggling to understand who he is & this attraction he feels towards Raine. This is SPICY but also these steamy moments move the story forward in a way that allows Kayce to start recognizing what he wants. I really enjoyed this story from beginning to end.

As a reader, their backstory unravels in breadcrumbs that I kept waiting for all the dots to connect & when they did, all of the angry banter made so much sense. Raine is such a force & I really appreciated who he was, especially at the end. He is a protector, even if it takes a while for Kayce to notice.

This is such a great way to end this series & I really am going to miss all these characters. I hope we get to visit this small town again, but what a ride it was!

Saving The Rain

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
🌶🌶🌶🌶

"I miss him, and I ache for him, and I’m so in love with him."

Kayce has screwed up more than once. Relying too much on others, drinking more than anyone should, sleeping around, and ignoring responsibilities... but he's worked hard to straighten out his life since moving in with his dad. Rodeo and the ranch are once again his top priority.

Then there's an incident... what would life look like for him without Rodeo? What would life look like having Raine in it every day? How can being in love with your stepbrother feel so right?

“I could never hate you, snowflake.”

Kayce and Raine are amazing. Definitely an enemies-to-lovers situation with a WHOLE lot of history that the other doesn't know about. I was worried that their relationship was going to just be all about their passion for each other, so I was thrilled when they actually started spending time together forming a real connection.

Elliott Rose is an actual goddess. This was my first MM romance and IT WAS AMAZING!!!! I absolutely adored this read and am so so grateful I am a part of this team.

Raine is such a broody, mysterious, SEXY, loving man. Beneath his gruff exterior is such a hurt, broken, tenderly sweet man and I am here for it. The way he is such a protective person, but pretends he isn’t was just so endearing.

Kayce has been a little love bug from the start and I’ve always loved his bubbly personality. It was beautiful to get to see the growth he goes through in this story. From his childhood trauma, his abandonment issues, his gay awakening, all of it. It was absolutely perfect and written so damn well. The lgtbq representation in this series made my heart smile and I absolutely loved how Elliott incorporated it so beautifully into these books.

The relationship development between Kayce & Raine was absolute perfection. “Never not obsessed with you…”
This was the best series finale us readers could have wished for and I am still in awe of how much I loved this book. INFINITY STARS FOR ELLIOTT. INFINITY FREAKIN STARS!

I was SO LUCKY to get an early copy of this book and guys….. this story was everything.

I devoured recently all the books in this series on audio and knew when I heard Kayce was getting his book that it was going to be special. Kayce was so broken and you could tell he had so much more of his story to give us.

“𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒕 𝒎𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒘. 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒘 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒐 𝒘𝒊𝒏 . . . 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒊𝒕 𝒂𝒍𝒍.”

Add that it was MM and stepbrothers!? Absolute perfection. The banter, the rivals to lovers, the TENSION. This book was emotional and beautiful. I very rarely cry when reading and I was tearing up the entirety of the last five chapters. Their love story is SO SPECIAL… and the spice!? Listen I was on the floor with how delish this book was. Elliot truly spoiled us with this series and this book. All I can say is READ THIS SERIES. A perfect finally to a perfect series.
