Absolutely fantastic. Like a proper adult romance that is so tightly written and plotted it should be studied! The author plays with tropes and conventions and just seems to be having a blast putting the characters and then the reader through it all. The absolute best F1 romance that both loves the sport and also sees its elite, ruthless, corrupt, racist corporate soul. Don’t miss this one.

⭐️ 3 – High-speed drama, high spice, questionable choices

Faster promises a hot, scandal-driven Formula 1 romance filled with forbidden relationships, spicy scenarios, and plenty of risky business, and on that front, it certainly delivers. If you're looking for a quick, spicy read packed with popular romance tropes (age-gap, throuple, enemies-to-lovers), this one hits the mark.

I enjoyed how each couple’s storyline interlinked smoothly within the competitive, glamorous chaos of Formula 1 racing. The behind-the-scenes dynamic felt fresh, and kudos for the explicit safe-sex conversations; more romances need to normalise that.

However, the book had some notable rough edges. The constant confusion around who was speaking or whose POV we were in disrupted the flow significantly. The emotional depth and character development felt shallow at times, leaving me uninvested in their journeys. The couples' conflicts often boiled down to miscommunication, which became repetitive and frustrating rather than compelling.

Certain aspects—like Micaela and Liam’s age gap—bordered on uncomfortable rather than intriguing. And there were definitely a few cringeworthy moments scattered throughout.

While this wasn’t exactly my cup of tea (I prefer deeper emotional arcs and stronger plots), it’s ideal if you’re in the mood for something spicy, fast-paced, and slightly scandalous. It might not leave a lasting emotional impact, but it'll certainly raise your pulse for a couple hundred pages.

I think this was my first Formula 1 book I've ever read. It includes three stories, separate but still connected as they all happen in the F1 world, and have many different POVs from all included (main) characters, so I think that would be 7 POVs.
Naturally, this would make me usually a little hesitant, as I'm used to 2 POVs, and I felt like I wouldn't know whose POV I'd be reading. But the author mastered this beautifully, and I was completely immersed in the F1 world from the beginning.
My favorite story was Micaela's and Liam's, who is also her ex's dad. Maybe it's because I liked the forbidden trope, but I was looking forward to their story the most.
Cece, Ethan, and Luca - I like MMF stories, but I think I wasn't as connected to their story as I thought I would because he cheated at the beginning and got caught by Cece. She followed by sleeping with Liam the very next moment, and it was a little confusing since I just started the book and didn't even know what was what. Their relationship then progresses through the story, but I just couldn't fully connect to them because of his cheating.
Paola and Brent (Liam's son, Micaela's ex) - I wished for more from the story. We get a glimpse into their connection, but it is not as the blurb says ''she was bribing him with kisses''. There was no bribing involved. She told him to start being more mature, and a couple of chapters later, they were in a relationship, but I have no idea when they got closer.
So all in all, four stars for the whole idea and how great Faster was written, and since this was my first F1 book, but if that weren't the case, maybe a star would be removed.

I just wasn’t a huge fan of this one. I loathe multiple POVs and this one took the cake. So many POVs. I did enjoy the fact that the author seemed to have pretty good knowledge of formula 1!

Not my first Formula 1 racing novel. I don’t read this trope often, but seemed intrigued by the plot for Andie Christopher’s novel featuring a female F1 driver. LOVED that idea!

I wanted to love this one, but I just couldn’t get into the story with so many POVs happening at the same time. 😬 Cece, Ethan, Luca, Jocelyn, Michaela, Brent, and Liam had my mind in a scramble. 😵‍💫

Overall, I liked the story. I just think there were too many characters vying for attention that kept me confused. Sometimes, less is more. Loved Andie Christopher’s overall writing and not opposed to trying a different novel next time. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I don't get too many books from Netgalley these days, but when I saw this book was "read only" I immediately downloaded it. I know next to nothing about the racing world, but by the time I was about 18% in, I was hooked!!

I wasn't quite sure how three separate storylines would work, but I was pleasantly surprised at how easily they all flowed. It had some super spicy moments, but there were plenty of sweet moments as well. Oh and some racing was thrown in there as well. 😉

I loved all the couples featured in this book and I would happily read a sequel(s) about them or maybe even about a certain side character I want to know more about.

Lots of forbidden relationships going on. I wanted to love this one, it had so much potential but oof it missed the mark. I’m being a bit generous with three stars but I finished it so there’s that
What I liked:
The knowledge of the f1 world. Probably one of the most realistic depictions of it I’ve read so far. I liked that it followed the calendar
I liked the idea of following three different stories in one novel. And I was excited about a poly relationship

What I didn’t like
All the characters honestly are absolute arse holes. Like not likeable or redeemable at all imo. Their behavior was different from literally every single POV.
None of them had chemistry with each other. I swear to gawd they had more chemistry with the cars
The jumping around time wise was done too much. Which could be why the characters lacked connection, we never saw anything build. Everything is lust first maybe communicate later.
And I love spice in a plot but this was definitely spice over plot unfortunately. That it started to feel like self insertion fan fic. I mean the one FMC literally says “this is better than fic” and honestly that immediately gave me the ick and I started to really analyze the writing and stories.
The overuse of metaphors and similes started to take me out of the story.

I finished to see how they got their HEA and I’m satisfied

So a lot of potential, unfortunately missed the mark for me. Started off strong and just near the 60% mark I was struggling

As Faster follows three interconnected romances, Andie J. Christopher introduces us to six main characters to fall in love with throughout Faster (and a few side characters to hate).

Cece runs to Luca when she finds her husband cheating on her, but as rival drivers, her husband won't go down without a fight both on and off the track.
As the only female driver on the F1 grid, Micaela has all eyes on her and the pressure is unbearable, but when she develops feelings for her team principal (and her ex's dad) that pressure will only grow.
Paola is tasked with managing Brent in the press, but as one of the grid's most entitled and rambunctious drivers, she learns that cutting deals and bribing him might be the easiest solution,

While this book was full of drama and entertaining moments, I struggled to connect with each couple as their stories unfolded. I would have loved to see each couple get their own book, rather than squeezing them all into one. While it was a fun read, it did move very quickly which kept me invested in the stories but also hindered the amount of depth that could've been explored with each character!

OH MY GOD THIS BOOK! Just make it my entire personality and inject it straight into my brain. This book was the best juicy deliciousness I've inhaled all month. Andie J gives us not one, not two, but THREE storylines to OBSESS about in Faster. At first I thought it was just our potential throuple that would have me in a chokehold but soon we met our next couple and then another (!!!). What?! The gifts just kept giving. The book is fast paced just as the title and subject (F1) implies it would be. Andie J doesn't get bogged down in a lot of details that readers don't need--they need to figure some of it out themselves as we jump from race to race. Smart readers will appreciate this and how Andie J sticks to what we need to know. At times it might feel "surface level," but I have to think this was also intentional. We get deeper when it's needed and I didn't feel like I didn't understand the individual and couple/throuple's motives and feelings. The book is funny, clever, STEAMY, and at times, heartfelt. My only complaint: It's not out until September because this would have been the PERFECT summer beach read. I hope Andie continues to give us more in this world because it's fast-paced excitement, a lavish escape that we all need right about now.

In Faster we follow the journey of 2 couples and a throuple.

After discovering her husband cheating, Cece ends up in the arms of his former best friend. Now neither Ethan or Luca are willing to give her, or eventually each other, up.

Michaela is the only female driver in a formerly all male sport, but her biggest challenge? Falling in love with her boss. Who is also her ex's dad. Scandalous 🤭

Aforementioned ex-boyfriend Brent is your typical play-boy with a lot of growing up to do, and it seems press officer Paola is up for the task as she makes an agreement to go out with him until the end of the season, so long as he stays in line.

This was the first F1 sports book I read, and it was a pretty good read. Swet, spicy and drama filled. The characters were well rounded for the most part, the plot(s) were great! I would honestly have loved each of the couples having their own book. I think that would have given their stories more depth.

Following 7 different people's points of view got to be kind of confusing at times, though I do love multi POV so I get everyones perspective. There were points of "time jumping" when the POV character would be thinking about something that happened "this morning" or something similar where the wording was in present tense rather than past tense, and the transition was a bit confusing. My biggest gripe is the situation between Ethan and Cece. I still don't get why he kept picking fights, while at the same time thinking about how he needed to fix his marriage and the confrontation at dinner really irked me lol.

Faster features three interlinking, somewhat forbidden love stories all set in a fictional version of F1. Drivers and teammates, Ethan and Luca are in a throuple with Cece, Ethan's wife. Micaela used to date Brent, who she's now teammates with and she's hooking up with his dad and their team boss, Liam. Brent wants to date Paola, the team's press officer. As I was reading it, I thought it reminded me of a classic 80s bonkbuster a la Jackie Collins and it was so funny to read it in the Author Notes that that's what she'd been inspired by.

I'm a longtime fan of F1 and there were several characters where I could guess who the real-life inspirations were. I also liked the mention of an 8 x World Champion who was very into fashion and the toxic atmosphere at Zaandvort. The details of the sport felt realistic to me.

I also love the fact there's a female driver, something which unfortunately is lacking in real-life F1 and whilst it acknowledged the physical disadvantages she would have to overcome, it also showed she was still able to compete for podiums and wins.

The reason I only gave Faster 3 x Stars is because I just didn't connect with the characters in all three of the stories. I preferred Micaela and Liam's storyline and would've happily read a book just about them.

I loved this book. It was my whole personality for the 2 days it took to devour it. Melrose Place in 2025 with an F1 racing setting. There are for sure content warnings for cheating on a spouse, but I will say that for me, Andie J Christopher is one of the only authors I trust with that trope. She will never let a man get away with mistreating a woman. Andie J Christopher also writes difficult characters- they are people who are self aware of their flaws and don’t always feel a need to change themselves. These characters were no different- but I loved to read about them. The multiple love stories that were intertwined but fully separate, the knowledge of F1 racing that was just enough for a non-fan to understand the stakes but not get bored, and the way she hit every trope perfectly- it was amazing.

This book was everything I'd hoped it would be--fast cars and fast-moving romance and drama. It has racing and paparazzi and social media influence and secret relationships and complicated backstories and lots and lots of spice. I was a little worried I wouldn't be able to keep up with the specifics of Formula One and while it was very much present on the page, the racing was super accessible to someone who doesn't follow the sport irl. As a longtime fan of Christopher's work, this book very much delivered on the diverse casting, deep character interiority, and high heat!

Faster is what happens if Drive to Survive got filthy and mixed it up with Desperate Housewives. I haven't actually watch Desperate Housewives, I'm running off of vibes.

This is an F1 romance, technically, and it does the F1 parts very well. Faster follows drivers behaving poorly and making some awful decisions in regards to their relationships and personal lives. These people are an absolute mess and I found myself fascinated by their debauchery. I would have rated it a little higher, or rounded up instead of down, but I really wanted to see everyone crash and burn.

Not literally. Not in the racing part.

Sexy, fast paced novel of 3 interconnected couples in the F1 racing world. Messy drama all around; entertaining and a fun read. Following all the storylines were a little tough for me at points, but I did enjoy the different POV’s.
This was my first time reading this author but definitely not my last.

This was a very soapy book set in the world of racing. I have absolutely no interest in racing but admit that international racing is more interesting simply by virtue of the locations. We go from Monte Carlo to Morocco to Japan and so forth.

The book opens on New Year's Eve when Cece finds husband Ethan cheating on her during the party. She takes off to find Luca, his former best friend and fellow race car driver. Drama ensues.

At the start of the book there is one couple and by the end of the book 7 characters are in relationships, a ratio that seems improbable. Each chapter is set on a race weekend and follows mainly Cece, Luca and Michela. We get Ethan, Liam and Brent's pov less often.

Even though we get several scenes of Cece/Ethan/Luca coming together in various groupings, which is fun, the reader is kept at a distance. We feel like many things occur 'off screen' so to speak. And a sub-plot featuring another racer's wife, Jocelyn, is whisper thin considering what rides upon it. More interesting is Michela's position as the only female driver on the grid. She, like Brent, is the child of a former racer, and has to deal with his ego and grasping for the spotlight, while being a mere 'girl' driver. Albeit a very talented one.

Michela and Liam are among the last to get together, break up soonest and are apart longest, but end up married in the end. It all strains credulity, especially since Michela had previously dated Liam's son, her fellow team mate, Brent.

It's a slight story, with a few naughty bits sprinkled in. The cotton candy of books. 3.5 stars

Faster by Andie J Christopher.

I was so glad I was able to read this. It reminded me of some of my first forays into romance, with the novels of Jackie Collins and Jilly cooper. And I mean that in the best way possible.

Wonderfully intertwined, the three romances worked so well with the backdrop of F1. It was deep, tangled and messy in all the best ways.

I thought this type of romance novel was dead, but I am so so glad to find it again in this.

This was depraved and dirty in all the ways I was hoping for. Every couple was ridiculous and red flags were waving everywhere. I had such a great time reading it. Andie J. Christopher never disappoints!

I adore Andi J Christopher. I ran across her books a few years ago by happenstance. The first book of hers I devoured. It was an audiobook and she’s been one of my go-to authors since. You’re going to love this book. It’s a 3-in-1 special. Thank you so much Andi for sharing your amazing talent with us mere mortals. 😊

I've read my fair share of F1 books, and I must say that this one felt the most realistic! The race weekends were described pretty accurately, which was nice.

In Faster, we follow 3 'couples', which did overwhelm me at some points. Genre-wise, this was almost set up like a sitcom, except it wasn't a comedy. Unfortunately, this meant that I didn't really feel the chemistry for every couple. I think a lot of the dating stage happened off-page, yet that is what I usually appreciate the most in books.

This was also the first time I ever read a romance about a throuple, which was an intestering new situation. found their relationship the most fleshed out, and while the polygamy was hard to grasp for me, the author made it seem very inevitable for them.

One small negative point is that I don't like how she described the Netherlands lol. The stereotyping of us as weed-smoking, trash-throwing racists felt a bit unnecessary, but I get that she needed a "villain". Speaking of villains, I was really confused that the WAG page was randomly brought up, and then mentioned as an afterthought later. I would have loved to read a little bit more about that mystery and how it was resolved.

Nevertheless, this was a fun read! I always love it when two of my hobbies intersect!! Thank you to Netgalley and Montlake for the ARC.
