Such a great book. I couldn't put it down. Just stayed up all night trying to get to the end. I can't wait to look up what else this author has to offer.

What a fantastic debut novel. The Baby Group is a gripping psychological thriller that had so many twists and secrets. Full of suspense from the start, it was easy to get lost in this book, and the pages turned quickly. The ending was shocking and went in a different direction than I had anticipated.
Darcy and Alex move from London to a new, quieter, and more peaceful location on the sea. Hoping to start again after Alex cheats on her, a pregnant Darcy signs up for an antenatal class. Here she meets other women she hopes will soon become friends. At first, it goes as Darcy had hoped, but soon, she realizes something isn't right about one of the women. Seeking to uncover the truth about one of her new "friends," Darcy may discover more than she bargained for.
This was a deliciously dark thriller that begged to be read quickly. The action was non-stop and full of surprises. Alex was a bit of a narcissistic jerk, and Darcy a pushover, but that made the story better. I highly recommend this book.
Thanks to Netgalley and Joffe Books for the advanced copy

Great thriller! Exactly what I’m looking for in these type of books.
I usually have eARCs on rotation and this one kept me coming back for more, wondering what was behind it all!

3.5⭐️ rounded up!
Psychological thrillers are easily my top favorites to read and I can generally eat up an entire book in one sitting. However, this one was a bit slow at times and took my several days to finish as I was just not quite feeling it. I think if it was slightly faster paced, it would be a solid 4 stars for me! I was surprised to see this book is only 276 pages with how long it took me to read.
A lot of the plot twists are predictable but there were a few at the end that did make my jaw drop!!
And the fact that several, several scenes made me angry and anxious means this was really well written. Something about those psychological thrillers that really get on my nerves 🤣 the gaslighting/emotional abuse was grating.
Totally recommend for my peeps that love Nicola Sanders and Freida McFadden!!
Thank you NetGalley and JoffeBooks for the e-arc!

“The Baby Group” by Jade Lee Wright is a suspenseful and emotionally charged read that digs into the dark side of new motherhood, friendship, and secrets. From the first chapter, I was intrigued by the dynamics between the women and the sense that not everything was as picture-perfect as it seemed.
The pacing was solid, and there were some genuinely tense and jaw-dropping moments. I loved the way Wright explored how easily trust can fracture when insecurities and buried truths come to the surface. The twists weren’t overdone, but they definitely landed.
A strong 4 stars, well written, engaging, and perfect for fans of domestic thrillers. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

Darcy and Alex move to Cornwall to start a new life. Darcy is pregnant and joins an antenatal group where she meets Cora, Carmen, Violet, Rachel and Lucy. Lucy sets her eyes on Darcy's husband and soon Darcy realises she may not stop there...
This is an absolute banger of a book, I couldn't believe what I was reading! I had to finish it in one sitting because I needed to know where it was going. I don't think I've ever read this fast in my life! The ending was INSANE!!!

Im on a roll atm with reading the most amazing thrillers!!! I have no notes, I loved everything about this book. The plot, the cleverly plotted out story, the twists that I didn't see coming til I was smacked in the face and yet they worked absolutely perfectly. The writing style is so natural and flows so easily that I just kept on reading and before I knew it itbwas 4am. Def a must read!

The Baby Group is a gripping psychological thriller that pulls you in from the very beginning and doesn’t let go. The story follows Darcy, a pregnant woman who moves with her fiancé, Alex, to the quiet coastal town of Rock. Hoping for a fresh start and a supportive community, Darcy joins a local group for expectant mothers.
What begins as a warm and welcoming space quickly turns unsettling. One woman in the group, Lucy, seems especially kind and helpful—but there’s something about her that doesn’t quite add up. As the weeks go on, Darcy starts to unravel the truth, and what she discovers is more disturbing than she ever imagined.
Jade Lee Wright does a fantastic job of building tension throughout the book. The pacing is tight, the twists are smart and surprising, and just when you think you’ve figured things out, the story takes another unexpected turn. The ending is especially shocking—in the best possible way.
The Baby Group is a fast-paced, twist-filled thriller that explores the darker side of female friendship and trust. If you enjoy domestic suspense with emotionally complex characters and a few jaw-dropping surprises, this one is definitely worth adding to your list.

This was a great book! Very interesting, and kept me engaged the entire time. I was actually in a reading slump before reading this book. Nothing was really gripping me or keeping me entertained. This book finally broke that cycle for me! I really enjoyed the twists and turns, and would recommend to other readers!

Review of ‘The Baby Group’ by Jade Lee Wright, due to be published on 31 July 2025 by Joffe Books.
Darcy is expecting her first baby with partner Alex. Recently moved to get away from the City and Alex cheating on her, Darcy is hoping for a fresh start, and to make new friends.
When Alex’s mum advises her to join an ante-natal group locally, Darcy hopes this will lead to the friendships she craves.
Most of the book is set in the months leading up to the birth of Darcy’s baby, her meeting the fellow mums to be, and forming bonds. The story is well written, and leads your mind to go one way, then twists back to make you question the trust and sincerity of the friends Darcy makes.
A strong ending, with the right amount of suspense and foreboding, makes this a recommended read.

It’s hard to believe that this is the first published book by Jade Lee Wright. It has all the ingredients a good thriller needs. A prologue that reels you immediately in, a FMC that I connected with but wasn’t sure if I liked her or believed a thing she said and lots of twists and turns, with the ultimate ending.
This is written as a first person narrative. I’m not always keen on this style but it just worked and we really got into Darcy’s mind. At times she was infuriatingly stupid but I think we all would be in her shoes!
The story follows Darcy and her Fiancé Alex who have just moved to Rock and are expecting their first baby. They join an antenatal group to help make new friends and to help them settle in a place where they know no-one. Things start to go from bad to worse for poor Darcy as she questions everyone and everything she knows. Will her past catch up with her or are her secrets safe?
This is a fantastic debut read and I highly recommend you grab a copy when it hits the shelves on 31st July.
Thank you to NetGalley and Joffe for this eARC.

The Baby Group is a gripping thriller that dives into the emotional whirlwind of pregnancy, relocation, and the complexities of trust.
Darcy and her partner Alex have just moved to the coast, preparing for the arrival of their first baby. With no friends nearby, Darcy is encouraged by Alex’s mother to join an antenatal group. It seems like a good idea until it becomes clear that one of the women, isn’t who she appears to be. But Darcy has secrets too.
This was a great thriller which was packed with twists I didn’t see coming. I loved everything about it and can’t wait to read more from this author I will be recommending this book to everyone thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this great book.

Not sure where to start! I'm so grateful to the wonderful team at Joffe Books for picking up my book and giving me the opportunity to share it with the world. Thank you to every reader, reviewer and person supporting me on my writing journey. It is so appreciated and I hope you enjoy my twisty thriller!

Wow - I’ve loved this book!
It has so much in it that’s so relatable - I couldn’t put it down.
Darcy is navigating her way through pregnancy and the journey towards becoming a Mum. Having relocated to the coast, this also means making new friends and tests her relationship with Alex along the way.
I felt like I was right there as a part of the baby group and enjoyed trying to work out who could and couldn’t be trusted.
The prologue had indicated the dark turn this story would take, and I was dreading reaching that part (every Mums worst nightmare) but also excited to see how it unfolded and who was involved!
I really felt Darcy, and could relate to every emotion she went through.
And I’m still not sure how I felt the epilogue - I didn’t see that coming!! 🤯 🤯
This is a great read and I thoroughly recommend it!

This is every mother;s nightmare and gave me chills. Loved everything about this book. First time reading this author and I can not wait to read more. Hope she does a prequel. Highly recommend.

Thank you to NetGalley and Joffe Books for providing this book, with my honest review below.
The Baby Group is one of those thrillers you may think you can guess the ending to but it’ll take you by surprise. Darcy and Alex are the couple having the baby and having recently moved Darcy is encouraged by Alex’s mother to join an antenatal group to make some friends with other expecting mothers. It turns out one of the members of the group, Lucy, may be keeping some big secrets from Darcy, and given Darcy is hiding a big one from her past when everything starts to come to a head it’s completely explosive.
I enjoyed this book, while I still consider it a bit of a popcorn thriller it definitely took me by surprise.

There's some crude language in this book which I didn't love, hence 4 stars.

Darcy and Alex move to Cornwall from London after Alex cheated on Darcy.
Darcy is pregnant, and lonely, and joins an antenatal class, where she makes friends.
I found this to be slightly slow to start off with. Darcy is a bit of a wimp, in my opinion. Alex is cold and not very understanding.
Darcy is very curious about the murders that have taken place in Lucy's house, but is in two minds about being friends with Lucy.
Lots of secrets, twists and turns, I did correctly predict what and who were involved before I reached the end of the book.
All in all, I did enjoy this book, and can recommend.

4.5 stars for sure!!!! I don’t even know where to start with this book… it was actually insane. It was the fastest book I have ever read in my life I didn’t put it down all day!! This story had me hooked from the start and I was so lucky to get to read it as an ARC. The FMC Darcy and her not so beloved fiancé Alex are in the pregnancy journey, having made some mistakes in the past they have moved away from home to a brand new place. Here they make new friends at an antenatal class and find out they know less about eachother then they thought 👀 the twists were so unpredictable and they just keep coming one after the other. There’s one piece of advice I’d give to Darcy if I could and that is to trust NOONE. (The only reason I didn’t give this book a 5 stars is because I was genuinely so infuriated with Darcy for being such a naive Ning Nong- that’s my trust issues coming out to play though poor Darcy just thinks the best of everyone)

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!! I can not say enough good things about this book. I COULD NOT put it down. I enjoyed all of the characters. The bouncing back and forth between the six couples was smooth, but helped me connect to each one in their own way. The book is centered around the new couple in town, Alex and Darcy . After a traumatic car crash and the loss of her parent, Darcy and Alex move to a new neighborhood, where they start to make new friends. Darcy is suspicious of Lucy and Arthur. There are dark secrets that are being hidden and a past history of murder in their home. Did Arthur do it? What is Lucy hiding? Is someone after Darcy's baby? What does Alex have to hide? Are the other couples who they portray themselves to be? Your going to have to read to find out!! You will not regret it.
Filled with so many twists and turns, I could not turn the pages fast enough. *****FIVE STARS*****
Thank you NetGalley, Joffe Books, and Jade Lee Wright for the wonderful eArc!
