Tiny Daggers comes out swinging with a sharp, propulsive opening and a clever structure, each chapter a “tiny dagger” that slices in just enough info to keep you turning pages. I loved how that format added tension and made the timeline easy to follow. For me, the momentum wobbled in the back half: a few reveals felt predictable and some character beats didn’t land as hard as the setup promised. I listened on audio and the narrators did a great job with polished deliveries that kept me engaged even when the plot felt familiar.

Overall: a quick, bingeable domestic suspense with a strong start and stylish framing. Perfect if you want something tense-but-light; less ideal if you’re chasing mind-melting twists.

Be prepared for a multitude of mosquito references. That particular metaphor is driven home repeatedly and overused. That in itself brought the book down for me- we get it. please move forward.
Holly is crazy. Don't ask which Holly, don't ask if I mean literally. The answer is both and yes. All of the main characters are awful. At least the women of Wisteria Lane had redeeming qualities, these women are worse than the bloodsuckers that are continually brought up. And the husband is the worst of them all. Now on occasion I like a cheeky end where the bad guy gets away with it, but when the bad guy is this husband I hate it, thanks.
A catty fun read, could be fun for some Book Club debates over wine. Obviously red.

thank you to NetGalley, the author Caroline Corcoran, and Brilliance Publishing for my ARC of this audiobook.

Very unusual. First part, told from one point of view tells a good story. Part two is told from a different point of view and makes the reader doubt all previous conceptions. The concluding part makes you realize you really don’t know any of the characters at all. Very twisty but does come together logically. Good narrator.

This book was entertaining and had a slow burn. Most of the characters were unlikable which I think makes a good thriller book usually. 🤣 The narration was nice and the cover was very eye catching.

Tiny Daggers 🔪

Okkkkkk I can’t lie this one started off SLOW. Like I was really intrigued at first and then it was kinda dragging by. But once it hit a little over halfway it shifted into MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE!!!!!! So many things started happening! My feelings about both Hollys shifted multiple times throughout and there were a lot of good twists. I think the slow start really added a lot once the twists and character motivations were revealed — if you go into this one I’d say the slow start is very worthwhile!
Four stars from me ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

And it took me some time to finish this so it’s already out! Released July 1!

Thank you @netgalley for the advance listener’s copy!

🎧I listened to the audiobook of Tiny Daggers. It starts off from the perspective of Holly Jones, her current friend group & relationship with Holly Wild. When things switch directions to Holly Wild’s perspective, my jaw dropped on the floor!!

Friendship drama, lies, deceit, shocking twists. I really loved this juicy story!

Thank you to NetGalley and Brilliance Audio.

𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆: Xpat Holly Jones is living the good life in Miami. She has rich friends, a rich husband, a nanny, and two kids. When a woman from her past, Holly Wild, “randomly” shows up one day at Hollys girl brunch… it sets off a sequence of events that has Holly wondering other Hollys real motives.

𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀:
🦟 Rich middle aged women
🍸 Cat and mouse
🦟 Short chapters
🍸 Dual POV (switches at half way through)

𝗠𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: I loved this cover and the synopsis. A bitchy twisty cat and mouse? Sign me up! Unfortunately, it was a lesson in not judging a book by the cover. The narrator (Elizabeth Knoweldon) was the best part of this book. The story was so drawn out and boring. 🥱 I was pushing through as far as I could but I kept spacing out and trying to increase my audio speed just to get it over with. I ended up DNF at 53%. I appreciate the time and effort this author put into the book and many readers loved it based on the 4-5 star ratings. I recommend this book for those new to thrillers, I believe those more familiar with other works might find this one too bland.

𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 2/5 ⭐️⭐️

I’ve decided to rate this at the lower end of a 3, probably 2.75 🌟 rounded up in reality.

A bitch fest if ever there was one. 2 Holly’s. One good one bad.but which is which? And how many nicknames can one man create for a Holly?

Lots of readers have commented that part 1 was really slow, and while I agree. It did keep me invested wondering what exactly was going on. By the time part 2 came around I was really confused. There’s a massive twist that had me wondering if I had missed something entirely. As layer upon layer unravels the more i actually lost interest. It all felt a bit cliched. By part 3 I was entirely bamboozled. Yet I did enjoy it. I couldn’t leave it alone. So make of that what you will. I enjoyed the superficiality of the characters. The toxic friendships, the back biting and the real housewives type vibes, but the story could really have used a bit of work.

Lots of mosquitos references as others have mentioned, but they actually didn’t bother me.

I enjoyed the narration a lot. I always wonder if a good narrator makes me stick with a story, and I’d say in this case it probably did.

Many thanks to Brilliance Publishing via NetGalley for the opportunity to review this audiobook which is available now 🎧

From the beginning of the chapter to the end of the book, I was literally hooked into the story.
This is another story that is so engaging... Caroline Corcoran did a phenomenal job with the gripping suspense and fantastic characters.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5)

Tiny Daggers had a concept that pulled me in right away—a modern psychological thriller featuring two women connected by a murky past, each trying to piece together the other's intentions. The title ties into this metaphor about mosquitos—tiny, persistent things that slowly drive you mad. It was clever at first... but they really leaned into it a lot. Like, every chapter and character convo didn’t need to bring it back up. We get it.

I wish one of the Hollys’ backstories had been a little clearer. Since part of the plot hinges on her hiding something from her past, I expected a bit more payoff there. Still, I liked getting both perspectives—it helped the story unravel in a way that kept me intrigued. By the end, I genuinely wasn’t sure which Holly was the “good” one, but I think that ambiguity was intentional.

Tiny Daggers is a razor-sharp psychological thriller that explores toxic friendship, identity, and obsession. Set between the sultry heat of Miami and the shadowy memories of London, the story follows Holly Jones, whose perfect life begins to unravel when her estranged childhood friend, Holly Wild, reappears. Their reunion sparks a tense, twist-filled narrative where secrets simmer and paranoia escalates.

Elizabeth Knowelden’s narration adds depth and authenticity, though the similarity between the two Hollys can be momentarily confusing. Still, her performance captures the emotional intensity and suspense brilliantly.

Corcoran’s writing is taut and clever, with short, punchy chapters that keep the pace brisk. The dual timeline and alternating perspectives build a layered mystery, making it a compelling listen from start to finish.

Overall: 🌟🌟🌟💫

A fun, biting popcorn thriller about a woman who has made the idyllic life for herself until a friend from the past returns. This was entertaining and quick with unlikable characters (complimentary). I enjoyed it!

3.5 ⭐️

Unfortunately, this was mostly a hate read for me. None of the characters are likable or redeeming in any way - which is the point. Problem is, when there's no one to root for, I just don't care what happens. This was like trashy, adult Pretty Little Liars but without the campiness that made it fun. There was too much back and forth between the characters and the timelines, and I think that needed some more polishing, and maybe even rearranged entirely. There was nothing gripping, and had I not been reviewing this because I received an ARC, I probably would have DNFed it. I also feel like there was way too many pop culture references. I feel like there could have been a much more clever way of showing that Holly 2 was trying to be more like Holly 1.

The ending left a lot to be desired. I think the 'moral of the story' is to be careful what you wish for. Holly 2 wanted Holly 1's life so badly, and she got exactly that. The good, and the ugly. I do wonder if there will be a sequel, since it ended with a member of the friend group insinuating they knew Holly 2 wasn't being entirely honest. While I don't particularly want a sequel, not having one would make this that much more disappointing. Because this very last ~50 pages was where it just *finally* started to get interesting. So to have added those elements in with no intention of taking them anywhere would just frustrate me further.

As an audiobook, I feel like the narrators did a good job with inflecting and pacing. I didn't feel it was too slow or too fast. I had a fine enough time following along. I feel like the narrator was emotionally connecting and performing it well. I think it was the actual subject matter that made it so hard to connect to the characters.

Thank You NetGalley and Brilliance Publishing for the Early Listening Copy. I was ecstatic when I got the approval for this one hoping it was going to be good I was mistaken. This audio would've been much better as a dual POV, having a British Narrator read all the personalities was very confusing and had to follow along with the digital copy of the book. I'm all for good vrs bad but this was over the top and outlandish. The husband calling Holly hols bols and hollorma was to much. And don't get me started on how many times the mosqious and childhood friends was reopened. UGH Book was just bleh for me I kept waiting for a twist or turn to bring me back but it never came.

This was a psychological thriller set in Miami , where two Hollys—Holly Jones and Holly Wild—reunite after decades apart. At school, they were branded “Good Holly” and “Bad Holly,” and now their reunion threatens everything: family, marriage, sanity. The pace is relentless, filled with gorgeous Miami brunch scenes and simmering tension, though a few flashbacks slow it momentarily.

As someone named Holly, I loved the playful layers of seeing two Hollys on the page. It felt oddly delightful (and a little uncanny) to hear my own name over and over again in the story. Highly recommended for fans of dark psychological suspense—and anyone named Holly looking for a little personalized intrigue.

I just finished listening to Tiny Daggers and I have to say, I really enjoyed it! The narration was charming and immersive, making it easy to get lost in the story from start to finish. The characters felt lively and relatable, even amidst the more fantastical elements, which I think is a real strength of the book. What I particularly appreciated was the clever way the story balanced humor and tension, there were plenty of light-hearted moments that kept the tone fun without undermining the stakes. The world-building was vivid and imaginative, pulling me into a unique setting that I’d love to explore more.

If I had a tiny critique, I might say that some of the pacing in the middle felt a little steady for a moment, but overall, it didn’t detract much from the experience. The ending was satisfying and left me eager for more adventures with these characters.

All in all, Tiny Daggers is a great pick for anyone who enjoys witty storytelling, memorable characters, and a dash of magic. I’d definitely recommend it and look forward to what the author comes up with next!

Holly Jones has the perfect life in Miami. But then she runs into a ghost from her old life in London who she has not seen in over 20 years...the other Holly. Holly Wild. I liked that it was told by both characters though I wish it had been different narrators. I enjoyed the past and present timelines with Miami and London as settings too. There were some good twists I did not see coming and you could feel the unease in the story.

Thank you to Brilliance Audio, Brilliance Publishing, for the listen.

What a fantastic thriller of frenmies with a past that all bleeds onto the present. I loved thw writing and the changes in Pov and getting to know both Holly's who are both very different and in some ways exactly the same. I loved the characters and the twists and turns this book took I found myself unable to put it down andeondering what was going to happen next. I was very surprised by some of the twists and have to say I lpve when that happens when a thriller can still shock after all the years reading them. I loved the switches in time and also the co flicts between woman and friendships as well as holding things within and having it finally bubble to the surface. I love the setting of the money and heat of Miami and the past of a small London town and there teen years. The writing was witty tense and under all of it had a edge of two people on the edge of something. I really loved this and highly recommend.

Elizabeth Knowelden did a cracking job narrating this. It's unusual to hear a British narrator do an authentic British accent in American audiobooks. However, the story is about two women named Holly (why?), and she does the voices for both women. I got turned around several times and had to start over. more than once because I'd got myself confused. One woman was from the North of England, but it wasn't enough to distinguish between them when they were both talking, and it took me out of the story multiple times. Authors, please don't name your characters the same name, and if you do, please pay for two different narrators (or get them to make the accents so different that audiobook listeners stand a chance of following the story). pleaseandthankyou!

With that said, I managed to get the hang of what was going on, and the final few chapters were a joy to listen to. I kind of expected the twists and turns, given we knew the outcome of part 1 before part 2 had finished, but it still kept me somewhat engaged. I loved that the chapters were numbered daggers, which will fit into the story as you read it.

It was a joy to listen to Elizabeth Knowelden (even if I got lost multiple times), and I would look out for audiobooks narrated by her in the future. There were no audible errors or line repeats that I noticed, the story inconsistencies aside this was an enjoyable audiobook to listen to and I will be sure to look out for more Brilliance Audio audiobooks in the future.
