What a pleasure to read this book! These farm animals make a great team and they are a good exmple of cooperation! I especially appreciated that the none of the animals in the story are protrayed as bad or evil. Rather the author takes the time to explain that all animals are trying to survive. Any parent with a burgeoning farmer needs to get Rosie's Ranch Rescue!

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC! This is a cute story about bravery and courage in the face of danger. Oakley, the protagonist, saves the farm with the help of her ragtag group of animal friends. I enjoyed Oakley being portrayed as being strong and brave. This would be a positive book to empower young children to be brave in the face of fear. I especially loved the grumpy cat, Thumbs!

This book is so awesome! For all of those kids out there that are totally horse-obsessed, this book is perfect in every way. Rosie the Clydesdale is drawn beautifully and even has some personality to her that is conveyed visually. It is so impressive that the illustrator managed to achieve this because Rosie is a character that doesn't have dialogue but is a key part of this story. As for the writing, it was great! The author did a fantastic job of building suspense and excitement within the plot, making for a highly engaging and entertaining story. Lastly, the amount of detail in both the illustrations and the writing was so impressive! It's clear that the creators of this book care deeply about what they do, and they definitely put a lot of time and effort into making this perfect-in-every-way book. Bravo!!!

Like Stitch said 'Ohana means family. Family means no one gets left behind' 🥹The ranch just got some adorable new calves and Rosie the horse, her human bestie Oakley, their ranch dog and one grumpy cat set off to protect the lil ones from danger.
I laughed my ass off at the cat scared one sec brave the next 😂 And honestly Oakley’s lasso skills at that age? Mad impressive. YEE HAW! This short story hits you with a sweet moral too family protects each other, always 💛
This is my honest opinion for the ARC I received. Thanks author and NetGalley for the opportunity!

Rosie’s Ranch Rescue offers a heartfelt and authentic glimpse into ranch life, beautifully captured through both narrative and illustration. Paige Murray presents meaningful and engaging conversations between Oakley and her parents that subtly introduce young readers to animal behavior and responsibility in a way that feels both educational and emotionally resonant.
Kristen Humphrey’s illustrations are vibrant and expressive, perfectly complementing the story and adding visual depth that will captivate young audiences. The contrast in size between Rosie and Oakley is especially charming, creating an endearing dynamic that children are sure to love.
Given the suspenseful storyline and the book’s length, I would recommend it for children at the upper end of the intended age range (4–8 years), as they are more likely to appreciate the pacing and emotional nuance. The inclusion of a quote from John Wayne serves as an inspiring moral compass for the story and adds a thoughtful layer that parents will also find meaningful.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a cute read for my kid. He saw the horse and automatically wanted to pick the story. He wasn't expecting all the other animals in the story and got even more excited as we turned the pages. I liked the part that this was brought to life from something that this family had actually had to experience.

Rosie’s Ranch Rescue is an absolute gem of a picture book, bursting with heart, color, and charm! The illustrations are simply stunning and bring every page to life in a way that will captivate both kids and adults.
What really sets this story apart though is its wonderfully unique cast of characters. Each one brings their own personality and purpose to Rosie’s and Oakley's world, creating a sense of community and warmth. It’s a captivating, visually gorgeous book with a message of kindness and teamwork that sticks with you long after the final page. Thank you, NetGalley!

Rosie’s Ranch Rescue is a heartwarming and inspiring story that beautifully blends the realities of farm life with powerful life lessons. I was genuinely touched by the way this book teaches children about courage—not just in facing fears, but in standing up and taking action when it matters most. Rosie’s determination to protect the animals on her family’s ranch shows young readers what it means to be brave and responsible.
I also really appreciated how the story gives an honest but gentle look into ranch life. From feeding animals to understanding the natural balance between predators and livestock, the book doesn’t shy away from the challenges farmers face. One moment that stood out to me was when Rosie’s dad explained that the coyotes hunting their animals weren’t evil—they were just trying to feed their families too. That moment added such depth and compassion, showing how empathy and understanding can exist even in tough situations.
This book is both educational and emotionally rich. It’s a great read for kids who love animals, have an interest in farm life, or simply enjoy a story with heart and purpose. Rosie’s bravery and the values her family lives by will stick with me—and I think they'll resonate with young readers too.

This was a precious little story! My daughter Rosie loved that there was a horsy named after her! Lol I especially loved the beautiful illustrations! I know this will make a gorgeous physical book!

I love that this book is borne out of a farm encounter and has fun facts in the end. I really enjoyed the artwork in this one, and who doesn't love a Clydesdale?

Oakley is eager to ride her Clydesdale, Rosie, to see the new calves born on the ranch. Her dog, Pete, and Thumbs the cat join them. All seems well until... nighttime, when Rosie and Lola the donkey hear the howling of coyotes nearby. Oakley and her friends must save the calves before it's too late.
Rosie's Ranch Rescue: Taking Care of Each Other by Paige Murray is an adorable story filled with delightful, unique characters wrapped around a wonderful message about caring for one another. The author captures the considerate and brave Rosie, the grumpy and full-of-himself Thumbs, the playfulness and courage of Pete, and the wide-eyed wonder and determination of Oakley.
Kristen Humphrey provides the artwork for Rosie's Ranch Rescue, filling the pages with puffy green trees and rolling hills, skies of pink, purple, and various shades of blue, and bringing forth the mannerisms of every character down to the surprised yellow-eyed armadillo.
Rosie's Ranch Rescue is geared toward readers 4 to 8, and would be enjoyed by youngsters who like nature, animals, ranch life, and delightful adventures.

.Rosie's ranch rescue is an adventurous story of girl power based on a true event This picture book has stunning visuals of a wide variety of animals and enough action to keep any reader hooked.

My daughter rides horses and we have read this book the last week each night at bedtime and it keeps getting cuter! She adores every page. Such a sweet story!

This picture book series is quite fun to read and has such a lovely back story since they are grounded in experiences that the author or her daughter had. The artwork is well done with tons of detail. I do find that the story was a bit choppy especially at the start, but that may just be because I'm not the target audience. And I did question the fact that a little girl was able to do all this without her parents being aware especially at night. There are some good lessons in the book, although the focus was really on the two main characters working together again and overcoming obstacles to protect the farm. So it was less about learning than about accomplishing.
While part of a series, there is no need to have read the first book. It will help to position the relationship between Rosie and Oakley more since this book starts with them as friends and co-defenders of the farm. But that isn't necessary to understand the friendship between these characters and their desire for adventures.
As with the first book, I would recommend it as a read aloud or bedtime book. And definitely a great gift.

My niece begged me to request this book as soon as she saw the cover and I read the description to her. It was a great pre-bedtime story with adventures of different animals encountered in the wilderness. A fun story for all ages with gorgeous illustrations to bring the characters to life!
