This story was adorable. Sophia is such a sweet
and thoughtful girl and i think she’d be a great inspiration for young girls this day and age, especially with the rise of love for boba. The illustrations are beautiful and so were the dresses

A cute and bright kids book with a sweet message. The illustrations are where this book shines. The story hopes around a bit with a few storylines trying to make a point but ending up feeling like they didn’t follow through fully. I’m sure my 3 year old would very much like to look at this book, but I wish it had just followed one story line through rather than 3 partially.

Thank you to NetGalley and Heidi Zhang for giving me a digital copy of “Are YOU a Princess?” in exchange for a review.

The illustrations are fantastic! Each page is so vibrant and Sophie is just the cutest. I love the different lessons taught in this book - there are so many in such a small book but it isn’t overwhelming for a child. As a mother with a biracial child, I also appreciate the different cultures showcased within the story.

The book also has comprehension questions at the end - a great way to have an open dialogue with the readers. Overall a simple yet effective lesson for children.

Special thanks to Netgalley for providing a digital copy in exchange for an honest review

This was cute! I really loved the art style.

But I was just a bit confused how the story went from "different kinds of dumplings" during lunch with these other characters to Sophie suddenly running a boba stand frequented by construction workers. It was a sudden jump, and honestly it made me wonder if I was missing some pages from the file that was shared with me due to how abrupt it was. There's nothing to tie the beginning of the story to the end besides the dress store, and it just made for a disjointed experience for me personally, which is not at all something I expect when reading something made for young children to read and enjoy

This book tackles a lot! Our main characters starts her own business to accomplish her goals when her mother is short on extra spending money. This is a noble pursuit! She also defends a classmate from bullies, and ultimately gives up her accomplishment for an ailing family member. The text is very simple and straight forward with comprehension questions in the back. It is not lyrical or fancy in terms of the writing, but the imagery is bright and beautiful throughout, and the lessons are strong.

A sweet little story about Sophie, her mother and Abuelita. Sophie is a strong, kind and fierce little lady who overcomes her limitations to buy her dream princess dress.

Sophie is saddened to see this deteriorating Aubeulita and makes sacrifices to help others in need.

Sophie is a true princess!
