Big thanks to Bookouture for a copy on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Whose Side Are You On? is a tense melodrama that asks the title question.
Two older couples Jackie and Ian, Philippa and Andrew, have been friends for decades and have had lots of adventures together and shared secrets.
Their daughters have been best friends forever.
Then Philippa and Ian seperate.
As the months pass Jackie and Ian go to their daughter Scarlett’s place and get the shock of their lives.
Andrew and Scarlett are in a relationship.
What happens next is disarray, lies, drama and a roller coaster of emotions.
I enjoyed this story.
Thought provoking, great for discussion, credible and very realistic.
A character driven narrative that will suck you in.

Interesting story set up. Best friends for years, husbands are also friends. One of their daughters falls in love with with one of the older husbands and causes a situation that the 2 women friends never saw coming. Intriguing story that kept me turning the pages to see what was going to happen. The older man, young girl relationship was not a favorite of mine I do have to say though.

Whose Side Are You On? is a gripping, emotionally charged domestic drama that had me hooked from start to finish. The tangled web of love, loyalty, and betrayal is explored with raw honesty and nuance, making it impossible to pick a “side” — because every character’s pain and perspective feels deeply real.
The story’s central conflict—your daughter falling in love with your best friend’s husband—is handled with a careful balance of empathy and tension. Scarlett and Andrew’s controversial relationship challenges the boundaries of family, friendship, and what it means to support those we love, even when we don’t agree with their choices.
The author brilliantly delves into the messy grey areas of human relationships, highlighting how secrets can both protect and destroy. I was on edge throughout, torn between heartbreak and hope, and utterly captivated by the complex dynamics at play.
If you love emotionally intense, character-driven stories that make you question your own loyalties and judgments, this book is an absolute must-read. I couldn’t put it down and was left thinking about it long after the last page.

Whose Side Are You On is an emotional rollercoaster of a read.
Scarlett is falling for her mother’s best friends recently separated from husband! Scarlett’s mother, Jackie is struggling with whose side to be on so that she doesn’t lose her daughter or her best friend. Things turn for the worst and Philippa decides to reveal Jackie’s long hidden secret into the mix making family life a lot harder than it was. Philippa has revealed this to help herself deal with the fact that Scarlett is very much at home with her ex husband and is now expecting a baby. Philippa’s own daughter has just got married and is struggling to conceive so this has hit a lot harder. Jackie is grieving her lost friend and trying to patch things up with her husband and daughter.
This was a really good read and being a parent myself I wouldn’t know what to do! The storyline was well, developed and all the characters were likeable and the book moved along at a good pace. The ending was very abrupt but with thought afterwards it was the best one fitting for the story.
I would like to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.

In Whose Side Are You On Kerry Fisher tackles the story of Scarlett, a young woman falling for Andrew, an older man who is married to Philippa, her mother's best friend. Mother Jackie's loyalties are torn when she learns that Andrew has left Philippa and is setting up home with Scarlett, and that she is expecting his baby. There are lots of twists and turns, with an old family secret revealed towards the end. A thought provoking read where one can question everybody's behaviour in this fraught situation.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Kerry Fisher knows how to bring all her audience into this book so it will not disappoint. It was a fabulous read, with a great storyline and excellent characters. This was a book I found hard to put down once I started to read Whose Side Are You On?
WoW. . . . . . .and breath Oh and Sniff!!!!
I highly recommend this book, another 5 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ read.
Big Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC.

I loved the premise of this story but ultimately the story did not deliver the emotional tug I was expecting. I found the story melodramatic and the themes over done. I rolled my eyes more times that I can count as I was reading.
The story also teases the hidden secret and refers to it often. When the secret was finally revealed I found myself disappointed. And I was disappointed in almost every character in this book. Everyone just seemed emotionally immature and selfish.
There were also several chapters in italics that truly adding nothing to the story. I know they were supposed to be some foreshadowing of the "secret" but for me they did not work at all.
Overall this story was a bit of a let down for me. However, I appear to be a minority voice so if you like emotional, family dramas then this one may be worth checking out for yourself.

Philippa and Jackie and both their husbands have been best friends for years. Philippa has her back when needed and Philippas's husband is someone that you can rely on. That is all about to change when Scarlett, their daughter falls in love withj Andrew. As you can imagine the fall out from this is major. Jackie has to support her daughter but by doing this the friendships that they had will be tested.
Great book from beginning to end.

I've been missing out, clearly....this is the first book I've read by Fisher. To say I thought it was 'just good' would be an understatement!
A book where family secrets are waiting to be revealed is always a win for me! It adds to the suspense and heightens tension. You know it's imminent, you just don't know when it's going to hit...but when it does...carnage alert incoming!
I spent the whole book looking at things from the POV of Philippa - the friend, Scarlett - the daughter and Jackie - the mother. Where would your loyalties lie? Family first or friendship?
An emotionally layered, enjoyable read.

📆 single, non-linear timeline
👀 dual POV.

💬 "We had to pick a side, which was incompatible with picking each other."
This book had my head reeling. What would I do if I were Jackie? Scarlett Phillippa? Abigail? Was Andrew a Creepy
predator, or a man who fell in love? It was a story about the things that drive us apart, and the tragedies that bring us together.
I absolutely devoured this book. I could identify in some way with all the characters, and absolutely understood whilst they all made the choices they did. I wanted to reach inside the book and give Jackie a hug, unfortunately I know all too well how post-natal depression can affect you and how hard it can be to ask for help.
This book made me laugh, cry and question how I'd react in the same situation. I was also desperate to find out what Jackie's secret was, and I was way off the mark!
I absolutely loved this book from start to finish and definitely recommend it.

BLOG TOUR REVIEW
Review for 'Whose Side Are You On?' by Kerry Fisher
This is the fifth book I have read by this author. I have previously read 'The Woman In My Home', 'Another Woman's Child', 'It's All Sun And Games' and 'The Rome Apartment' (book 1 in this series) and I would highly recommend them all.
Wow!!! Where to even begin?? Yet another addictive page turner from the extremely talented and absolutely wonderful Kerry Fisher.
I have to start by saying that Kerry Fisher is an extremely talented author and I cannot wait to dig into more of her books. She is definitely on par with several of my favourite authors which is why she is also one of my favourite authors!!! Regardless of if you are looking for a romantic comedy, domestic drama or an emotional tear jerker Kerry is the author to go to!! She is definitely a lady of many talents! Most authors stick to one genre but Kerry can do multiple and extremely well too!!
Kerry does it yet again!! I genuinely don't think she can make a book that I don't love!! Love, love, loved this book!!!! Absolutely gripping edge of your seat page turner!!! I mean just HOW HOW HOW can an author make each and every one of her AMAZING books EVEN BETTER each and every time???!?!?
The storyline was captivating and addictive from the first page until the last and I was completely invested in it. It was absolutely rammed full of lies, secrets, family, tension, drama, twists, suspense and everything you could ask for in a page turner. It is thought provoking, emotive, evocative, dramatic, powerful and ticks every box that I look for in a book. I just could not stop reading this absolutely addictive book from the first word to the last. Kerry's extremely talented, powerful and evocative skills really brought the book to life and I was completely absorbed throughout. I lost count of the amount of times I promised myself one more chapter but that one finished in a way I just HAD to know what would happen next so I said just more and this went on and on until I ended up finishing it in one sitting in just a few hours!!! It really does make you wonder what on Earth you would do in this absolute dilemma?? I'm not going to go into details about the storyline as the publisher has already done a wonderful job in the synopsis so if you want to know more you really do need to pick up your copy of 'Whose Side Are You Om'? and answer that question for yourself as well as finding out what Jackie will do herself. The location and atmosphere was absolutely perfect for this gripping page turner that will keep you hooked. I absolutely love Kerry's books and am guaranteed to be blown away every time I pick one up which is not an easy feat considering how many books I read a year so a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS Kerry!!! This book truly is an absolute rollercoaster ride of emotions which will have you feeling everything that each of the characters are. As always Kerry does an amazing job of weaving the storyline through the perspectives of multiple protagonists ensuring you can feel, see and hear everything that each and every one of them are seeing, feeling and doing and by gosh the emotions!!! One of the things I love about her books is that they can also be very thought provoking and they will live in your head rent free long after you have finished them. Kerry's evocative writing drags you deep into the storyline from the first sentence to the very last and will keep you up until the very last word! THAT ladies and gentleman is a true sign of an absolute must read. I've said it before about Kerry's books and I shall say it again!! I would absolutely LOVE to see this turned into a movie and would wait up all night to get tickets to watch it!!
I hope your busy writing your next book Kerry as I just cannot wait to see what addictive, thought provoking and emotive storyline you have up your sleeve for us next!!!!
Do not start this book until you have cleared your schedules as you will not be able to put it down!!
The characters were all realistic and strong and I was completely invested in them throughout. I love the fact that we got to see what was happening from multiple perspectives of several of the characters and as with all her amazing books Kerry weaves all of the chapters together with perfect timing until it all comes together!!Kerry really does put them all through a rollercoaster ride of emotions which she transfers to the readers. Kerry's multiple person perspective also really helps the reader understand the characters more making them more realistic to the reader. I was completely invested in all of the characters throughout and her evocative descriptions really makes them jump out of the book and come to life in front of the readers eyes. All of the characters were multi layered with complex personalities which definitely made them all the more interesting to read about!!! Unfortunately, I really can not say anymore as I don't want to spoil it for future readers. This really does just goes to show what a talented author Kerry is and I cannot wait to get hooked into her next book which is guaranteed to be another page turner!! Regardless of what I thought about who, each character worked perfectly to make this page turner!!!
Congratulations Kerry on yet ANOTHER huge success. This is the exact reason why you are in my favourite 5 authors list!! Here's to your next guaranteed success 🥂!!
Overall another absolutely unputdownable, intriguing and thought provoking page turner from this extremely talented author!!

Warning: An emotionally charged story that might make water fall from your eyes or have you yelling at a character. Kerry Fisher has a talent for creating characters that feel real, showing their imperfections and the moral struggles they face as they deal with secrets and betrayals in their relationships with family and friends.
Jackie and Phillipa, are two middle-aged, married women that have been the best of friends for decades. Their daughters Scarlett and Abigail grew up also being the best of friends. A single act triggers an avalanche of betrayals and moral dilemmas that will leave the reader reflecting on the emotionally layered topics explored and asking themselves, “Whose side are you on?”
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read this early digital copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

What an emotional rollercoaster of a book! Starting with two families that are so close the do everything together to families and friendships torn apart.
Poor Jackie really went to hell and back during the course of the book. All she did was love the people in her life and that all blew up because of people falling out of and in love with other people.
There is only so far you can stretch a friendship.

This one really surprised me in the best way. Kerry Fisher has this effortless way of writing about complicated family dynamics that feels so real, it’s like you’re eavesdropping on your neighbors. Or your own family, honestly.
The story follows a woman caught between two families, two sets of expectations, and her own sense of self-worth. There’s tension, judgment, loyalty issue all wrapped up in this uncomfortably familiar world of “keeping up appearances” and silent resentments. It’s not loud drama, it’s the quiet kind that simmers underneath for years and Fisher nails that.
What really worked for me was how relatable and flawed the characters felt. No heroes, no villains, just people trying (and often failing) to do what’s right. There were moments where I was genuinely torn about who I agreed with, and others where I wanted to scream, “you’re better than this!” but that’s what made it so good.
The writing is sharp, observant, and full of those little emotional gut punches that creep up on you. I docked half a star only because the ending felt just a bit too neat for the mess that came before but honestly, it still left me with that warm, reflective aftertaste.
Perfect if you love character-driven dramas with emotional depth, messy relationships, and no easy answers. Kerry Fisher fans, you’ll eat this up. And if you’re new to her? This is a great place to start.

This isn’t just a domestic drama. it’s a gut punch to the idea that we ever truly outgrow the people who shaped us. A story about mothers, daughters, secrets, and the ache of having to choose whose heart gets broken.

A very emotional and interesting read about love and friendship and understanding.
One of those stories where you imagine how you would react in such a situation. So for me this threw up some interesting moral and emotional dilemmas , that as a human and/or parent you wonder how you would behave in the same situation.
I liked the way all of the characters were portrayed. I did feel some empathy for Juliette and her self doubts about being a good mother.
This book kept me gripped from start to finish and I had no idea how this would end.
Recommend reading this. 4.5 stars

Wow what a messy tightly woven plot!! I felt like this was a miniseries on tv that I was watching unsure of what would happen next.
Jackie’s best friend Philippa decides to divorce her husband but once he leaves he develops a relationship with Jackie’s daughter.
What an impossible situation!!! I sympathized with Jackie because she couldn’t win no matter what she did.
Every situation and feeling that reverberated was so plausible!
How certain things are lost, resolved, and regained is truly a testament to Fisher’s writing abilities.

This book pulled me in right away. Full of secrets, twists, and complicated family drama, it had me questioning who I was rooting for the whole time.
This was a powerful story about loyalty, betrayal, and the gray areas in between.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for an advanced reader copy!!

Holy Moly, this book put me and the characters through the ringer! Whose Side Are You On? A gripping emotional page-turner full of family secrets is equal parts gripping, thought provoking, and emotional. Whew! This book had me wondering 'just how much can one person take?" Man, many scenes where like gut punches to the heart and I loved every second of it!
Jackie and Phillipa have been best friends forever. They have been there for each other though the ups, downs, births and all the family events in-between. When Phillipa and her husband, Andrew, get divorced, Jackie is there for Phillipa. They are friends after all, and nothing can come between them. Jackie had no idea just how much things were going to change until she and her husband stopped by their daughter, Scarlett's home and find her there with Andrew! Talk about a shocker! Her daughter is in a relationship with her best friend's ex-husband! Talk about Awkward!!!! Her daughter tells her that they are in love while Jackie and her husband are shocked beyond belief! They have been friends with Andrew throughout his marriage to Phillipa. Andrew has seen Scarlett grow up and Scarlett is best friends with daughter. Talk about messy! This is such an uncomfortable moment, and the author did a great job showing the discomfort, shock, and disbelief of Jackie and her husband.
Whose Side Are You On? A gripping emotional page-turner full of family secrets took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions! I felt for every single character in this book. Man, talk about a messy situation full of likeable characters. I felt the author did a fabulous job of showing how each character was affected and how they reacted. The reactions felt real, and I could understand where each character was coming from. The characters are put in uncomfortable situations, their loyalties and relationships are tested, emotions are raw, tensions are high, and choices will be made.
What an emotional and gripping book! I had a hard time putting this book down as I was fully invested in the characters and their lives. This is a great book for book clubs as there is so much to discuss in this riveting book.
Wonderfully written, well thought out, thought provoking, moving and hard to put down! This is the second book I have read by Kerry Fisher, and I look forward to reading more of this author's books in the future.
