I loved this group of ‘brothers from another mother.” Gunn finally gets his story, and I adored watching Jocelyn see for herself the strength she had, and seeing her bloom was adorable. The chemistry was beautiful, and seeing all the other men’s wives was a treat. Though you know the villain will show up, and my suspicions were all right from the beginning! I do love a Scot and his way of handling bad situations. A well-plotted book with very believable characters and written so you feel you are in the room watching it all.

Interesting but not a captivating read with good characters and setting. There was no depth to the storyline, every issue seemed to be resolved very quickly and easily.

Gunn Burnett, Laird of Leys, is running a pub and inn when Jocelyn comes in obviously running from something or someone. Like all great alpha males, Gunn’s protective instincts kick in. Although she’s sporting fading bruises he can’t help but feel an attraction to her. Gunn has been in previous books in this series so if you’d read any of the series you have to be cheering for his turn at love. Jocelyn is looking for a place to hide from her abusive husband and hopes to never see him again. Both characters are wonderfully written and I love when communication is open and natural with no misunderstandings stemming from a general lack of trust between the main characters. There are just enough twists to keep you reading and well deserved comeuppance for a couple of characters that really deserved it. Fabulous book!

A lovely story that I thoroughly enjoyed. Gunn Burnett, the Laird of Leys has returned from the war to realise that his pub is slowly but surely failing. A once thriving establishment, he cannot understand what is happening! Added to this, his coffers are almost depleted. Added to that, all his regular customers have stayed away without any reason that he can see.

One evening, just as he is about to close the pub, in walks a very fragile Jocelyn Townsend who has fading bruises that he can see. She seeks shelter from the night and Gunn is unable to turn her away. He wants to fight all her battles and protect her from everything. Jocelyn, once she made herself as comfortable as she dares, asks if he would employ her to allow her to earn her keep. One of her skills is bookkeeping which is extremely fortunate as it will allow Gunn the opportunity to have someone take a closer look at his finances and see where the drain to his finances is going.

While working in the office with Gunn around, an attraction develops which both are keen to pursue – except she is a married woman who is running away from an abusive husband. Gunn takes it upon himself to assist her in this and at the same time confronts the person who has caused his pub to lose its customers and money.

All in a sweet read that I enjoyed. I liked both main characters along with Gunn’s friends. I would recommend this book for a lazy afternoon when you want some light reading. I received an ARC from the publishers and NetGalley and submit my honest review voluntarily.

Jocelyn Townsend is running away from her abusive husband in England, until her money runs out at the Thistle and Pig in Scotland. Gunn Burnett, Laird of Leys, and owner of the Thistle and Pig, is a boxer and an ex soldier. A soft heart of gold, Gunn is soon losing his heart to the gentle lady. With help from his persuasive friends, they catch a thief and end an abusive marriage. Includes characters from the previous books in the series.

Joss and Gunn were so good together. She was on the run and couldn't have found a better guy to protect her, and found family. I enjoyed seeing all the other couples from the series too. And more than just a cameo! Especially Gwen and Nicholas from the first book, "Sweet Rogue O' Mine". Good book!
Thank you to Dragonblade for the copy of this book. Opinions are my own.

Drama, deceit, chemistry, abuse, pregnancy, and mystery are just a few of the things you will experience in the last book of this amazing series. Jocelyn runs from an abusive husband and hides in Scotland. Gunn, who has returned from war and is trying to make a go at a run down inn, provides shelter and protect for Jacelyn. The power of love, family and second chances resonates within this story. A brilliant ending to the series, has old friends back in place so while it can be a standalone, if you didn't read the other books, I encourage you to do so.

If Scottish Regency romances are your thing, this one’s a cozy, charming escape. The tension between the hero and heroine builds beautifully, and both characters are very likeable.

That said, the story doesn’t dig much deeper than surface charm. Maybe because it’s on a shorter side, which means it barely scratches the emotional depths that make a romance unforgettable. There are no jaw-dropping revelations, no heartbreak, no push-pull drama that usually makes me binge until 3 a.m. It’s a good read, but for someone who’s devoured dozens of similar titles – it’s too light.

TL;DR
A solid, easygoing three stars. Charming characters and a lovely setting carry you through, but it doesn’t leave a lasting spark. Perfect for a light, feel-good fix – but if you’re craving something more nuanced or dramatic, this won’t be it.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

A heartwarming romance develops between the main characters, although it would normally be frowned upon, given that Jocelyn is a wife on the run. Jocelyn had been planning her escape for some time, but when she realizes that there is a baby on the way, she can no longer take a chance on surviving her husband's abuse. Arriving at the small inn in Scotland, she fears that the innkeeper sees and understands more than he is letting on. He has obviously noticed the bruises on her face and her exhaustion, but to her relief, he shows her kindness and gives her the refuge she needs. Gunn does not have the wherewithal to shower strangers with mercy, but the frail woman on his doorstep pulls at his heartstrings. He has his own problems to deal with, but he did not expect that the runaway wife would be his salvation, even as he became hers. Together with his friends, whom we have previously met in this series, they bring truth and justice for both Gunn and Jocelyn. I received a copy of this beautiful romance as a gift, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Overall, this is an enjoyable story and nice end to the series. I liked both lead characters and the plot moves at a pretty good pace. My only real problem with the book is that everything happened a little too easily for everyone. Jocelyn pretty much runs out of money and the first place she goes is run by a man who is willing to give her a great deal and ask no questions. Her big secrets comes out and Gunn is immediately accepting of everything. Gunn's business is faltering and the reason is found out pretty quickly (once Jocelyn starts working on it). Even the issue regarding Jocelyn's marriage is resolved without a ton of fanfare. Not that I want unnecessary suffering for my characters, but there was never really anything to elevate the high stakes of the story. I also wanted more from Gunn's manager who was stealing from him - primarily why he did it and how he thought it was all going to end. My first thought when Gunn asked his friend to investigate Jocelyn was that it would help lead her husband right to their door - and since it was never really revealed how he found her I'm going to assume that played a part. As I said, when taken as a whole, this is a very enjoyable novel - and it is not a problem if you are jumping into the series here, reading the previous books in the series would only give you more of the backstory of the other couples.

“Here I Rogue Again” by Brenna Ash, is a 156-page fiction book released this year, and the fifth volume of the Rogues of Redemption series. It was published by Dragonblade Publishing Inc. in Moreno Valley, California, and its cover design was produced by Dar Albert. The ebook has ISBN 06022025HIRA1 and costs $2.99. Brenna Ash, who loves romcoms, playing music, watching Binge movies, and all things Scotland and BTS, lives in Florida.

This story is based on events occurring in 19th-century Scotland, and centers on Jocelyn Townsend, an English woman from Rochester, absconding from an unhappy marriage. Upon meeting the kindly innkeeper Sir Gunn Burnett in Kincardine, she works as a bookkeeper under his care. She starts life afresh, makes new prestigious friends, and cannot deny the attraction between her and Gunn. But she cannot hide her secrets anymore, and when she reveals them, things are not the same. Her worst nightmares may come true, and she must face them, eventually.

I like the old European-style romance setting in this book; Its genre perfectly suits the author’s penchant for romcoms and all things Scottish. Its lore involves a twist of love, honor, and vengeance. My favorite character in this book so far is Gunn. He is shrewd, gentlemanly, lordly, and very tactical. Clearly, he had been infatuated with Jocelyn and would do anything to protect her from harm. Jocelyn’s bravery in escaping from Victor makes him overprotective of her. He is also self-esteemed and would not allow anyone to plot or take advantage of him, not even Theodore. He surrounds himself and Jocelyn with trusty friends, making their lives paradisiacal.

I do not have any negative views in the book. It contains old comprehensible European jargon that fits the Scottish setting and adds more realism to the story. The book features interesting characters, descriptive scenes, and well-crafted storytelling.

I did not find any typographical mistakes or grammatical errors because this book is excellently and thoroughly edited. I, Michael Lartey, the reviewer, find this book to be filled with power, emotional suspense, and credibility. Because of this, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

I recommend this novel to young adult readers who love fiction and European history. It is a reminder of making assertions against domestic abuse, unwanted relationships, disloyalty, and harboring deadly secrets. The book, however, contains profane words and sexual content.

This is one of my favorite stories that netgalley gave me this year. Thank you so much.. I just loved the relationship between Gunn and Jocelyn. She came to his end when it was raining and she was running away from past problem. And she was pregnant. But he didn’t know towards the end. She finally told him the truth while they were getting intimate she was afraid that he wouldn’t like her anymore if he found out that she was still married to her husband that was beating her. She ran so far away to Scotland and got a job at his inn he was so kind to her and he still let her work at the end, even though she was with child and was married. I thought the characters together were lovely. This was such a nice story.

Deception, Escape, Mystery.
A series I hate to see end. The guys and gals in this series has been terrific.
This story had me captured from the start and wow what a start this story has.
Gunn is the man that had my heart in a twitter more than once.
Jocelyn was a dynamic character that carried the deeply emotional plot out perfectly.
Both Gunn and Joss had that steamy charisma that makes you thirst for more.
This is a sizzling heartfelt story that I certainly would recommend.
So perfect that the author brought back all of the characters from the previous books to complete this romance story perfectly.
💥 Passion Level 2/5

Gunn owns a tern and an inn both of which are struggling.
Jocelyn wanders in one night bedraggled and skinny when Gunn takes her under his wing.
Their relationship develops despite the roadblocks and others denying their happiness.
They persist against all odds.
Emotional and satisfying read.

I so love this group of ‘brothers from another mother.” Gunn finally gets his story and has his hands full with a failing pub, money low for his estates and now a beautiful , but timid Jocelyn to look after. From the minute he met her, he knew that was his job. I adored watching Jocelyn see for herself , the strength she had and seeing her bloom was adorable. Their chemistry was beautiful and seeing all the other men’s wives was a treat. Though you know the villain will show up, it was a surprise as to the when and where. I do love a Scot and his way of handling bad situations. I did rate it 4 stars because (sigh) the crass f-bomb was employed. I will stand against this word in historical romance as long as I read, because I believe there are other ways to portray anger without its use. To me, it is just lazy on the part of the authors and it ruins the story for me. A well plotted book with very believable characters and written so you feel you are in the room watching it all.

I received this story for free and these are my own views.
