Thanks to the ARC team for an advance copy of this book!

As the title implies, this is a story about redemption - the MMC, Levi, dies, but he's then transported back in time to a point where he could potentially right the mistakes he makes in the future. He knows how his decisions end up and that he'd like things to end up differently - and the story explores the choices he must make to undo his "past" (or his current self's future).

This book is definitely dark at points. Levi is a morally gray MMC, and being able to see the story through his eyes was an interesting shift in perspective.

While the timeline was a bit confusing with the time travel aspect, overall, an interesting read well worth the time!

Levi is a mess. But somehow, I was rooting for him?
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Time-travel redemption romance isn’t usually my thing—but this one had me. Levi dies (oops), gets a second chance, and decides maybe being a better husband/father/human is a vibe. He’s still a little narcissistic, but the groveling? Satisfying.

Sloane = the real MVP. Boundaries, growth, a new man and still makes Levi earn it? Icon.

Some of the writing could’ve used a polish and the time-travel logic? Girl, idk. But messy, emotional, and kind of addictive? Yes.

This was an absolutely amazing read! From the first page of this book I was hooked. The way the author wrote the character Levi was honestly so good I didn't know whether I should trust him or not. Levi is a man that dies in a car accident and is sent back in time. Levi now knows the outcomes of the mistakes he made 12 years ago and uses this opportunity to right his wrongs. In the book Levi tells us he's a narcissist but that he has since gotten help in the years he'd already been separated from his wife and lost everything. In the beginning of the book you can really see that Levi still struggles with some of his narcissistic traits as he is trying to win back Sloane but that he also realises and acknowledges all his wrongs. He's not only on a mission to win back his wife and write his wrongs but also save the lives of his kids that was ruined. The author genuinely did a great job portraying this story of betrayal and redemption, the story of broken people and broken homes, the story of home even after everything that could've gone wrong goes wrong. I wish the author a fruitful debut. I just know the readers are going the love her!

P.S - Reno and I are mutuals on Booktok and all I can say is - she's just as amazing as her writing!

So picture “Click” meets “17 Again,” but make it messy. Levi, 48 and freshly dead in a car crash, wakes up twelve years earlier—prime time to UN-screw the marriage and family he imploded with one epic cheating arc. From the jump, I hated him (deadbeat hubby and absentee dad? boy, bye), but the author low-key worked a miracle: watching Levi grind to earn Sloane’s trust, grovel to his kids, and even step aside while she dated somebody else had me sloooow-clapping by the final chapter. Growth!

Shout-out to Sloane, though—sis stood on business. Therapy? Check! Boundaries? Check! Making Levi sweat before a single toe crossed her bedroom threshold? ICONIC. The reconciliation actually felt earned because she never let him slide.

Where it fell flat:
-Dialogue was thinner than my patience; lots of “tell” over “show,” so I felt no emotional connection
-Typos and verb-tense chaos—another round of editing is needed for sure
-Time-travel logic? Multiple characters get the “second-chance death portal,” but we never learn how or why. (That epilogue? Made no effing sense .)
-Angie—Levi’s side chick—morphs into a cartoon stalker overnight. Levi, you left her mid-thrust for your wife; of course she’s spiraling!

Bottom line: A redemption-romance that almost made me forgive a cheater, driven by a ride-or-die heroine who knows her worth. Needs tighter editing and real world-building (please explain the magical do-over, ma’am), but I’m curious enough to peep Book 2 and see if the author cleans up the chaos

This book took some time to get into—the pacing at the start was on the slower side—but the characters, especially Levi and Sloane, became more compelling as the story progressed. Once it hit the halfway point, the momentum definitely picked up, and I found myself more engaged in their emotional journey..

There is a touch of spice, though it’s pretty mild and secondary to the story’s emotional weight. In addition to the already heavy themes and trigger warnings, the inclusion of pandemic-related content made parts of it feel even more intense. While it may not be the easiest read emotionally, it does offer a thoughtful take on love, second chances, and the quiet resilience required to keep choosing each other, even when the world feels like it’s falling apart.

2.5⭐️

This book wasn’t really for me. It was very repetitive and a bit dull. It just needed something more.

This is the first i’ve read this author and wouldn’t be opposed to reading other books by them in the future.

Thank you for providing this ARC!

I was in the mood to read Erotica and this was available to download, I picked it up. Unfortunately, I had to DNF it after 50 pages. The character is a self-deprecating husband who has returned to his past after a deadly accident and wants to redeem himself. The premise made sense for him to be self-loathing about his former self but it was overly portrayed.

I understand that the character is supposed to display remorse and hate his old self, but it doesn't have to repeated every other page... Clearly, not my cup of tea.

Thank you NetGalley and Posh Pangolin Publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this!

First and Foremost Thank You NetGalley and Posh Pangolin Publishers for the Arc of One More Chance. I really wanted to enjoy this book but it fell short for me. I found it a bit confusing to stay with in the story line and to stay invested. Yes it is a redemption novel with time travel aspects, but it came off very far fetched. With multiple grammatical errors including calling characters the wrong name multiple times. It needed a really strong edit and possible restructure. I liked the premise of the story line, there were plenty of emotions poured into the story line but they just fell flat for me. This book took me over a week to read because I had to go back and reread portions to make them make sense. I do believe this could be a great start to the Authors Career as a writer with some more editing and tweak of the storyline.

*Arc review*

If you are looking for an emotional experience then this is the book for you! This book covers first love, time travel, redemption, mystery, murder, etc (you name it its probably in there lol). I definitely enjoyed watching MC grovel and seeing his pov/thought process was refreshing. I do think it could’ve expanded more on the kids futures since we barely got anything but it still made sense. I had fun and I definitely enjoyed the book, thanks for the arc!

A Gripping Dive into Dark Romance 💔
Reno R. Mist's "One More Chance" is an intensely captivating dark romance that pulled me in from the very first page of my ARC. The author doesn't shy away from the shadows, delivering a story brimming with raw emotion and the kind of high stakes that will keep you glued to the pages. The emotional depth of the characters, particularly as they navigate betrayal and the desperate plea for redemption, is palpable and truly the heart of this book. You feel their pain, their yearning, and their struggle with every turn.

The dark romance elements are incredibly well-executed, offering a thrilling, sometimes unsettling, but always compelling journey. Fans of this subgenre will appreciate the unapologetic intensity and the exploration of complex, often morally gray, relationships.

My only slight critique, and what kept it from being a five-star read for me, was that one particular plot point felt a bit rushed. It resolved perhaps a little too quickly or didn't get the full development I might have hoped for, which slightly impacted the overall flow in that section. However, this was a minor blip in an otherwise powerfully engaging narrative.

For anyone who loves dark romance and stories with intense emotional stakes, "One More Chance" is an absolute must-read. Be prepared for a wild, angsty ride that will leave you thinking long after you've finished. I highly recommend it!

I was attracted to the cover and the synopsis of this title. I'm so glad I was able to read the story. It's very dark and full of complicated topics, but important ones. The author does this genre an excellent service with the writing throughout. It was captivating and moved at a good pace. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

ARC review!

I gave this book four stars because I loved the plot of the book, the detail throughout was amazing, it was a beautiful story about a second chance. I did notice inconsistencies in the stories which is why I rated it 4/5 stars.
The timeline was a bit confusing at parts and I had to go back to reread some parts and sometimes even then it didn’t make sense. I don’t like that they chose the name Angie for the receptionist at the clinic and for Levi’s crazy mistress. I also noticed in chapter 33 the author says the name April but I assume they mean Violet.
Overall I really enjoyed this book, it provoked so much thought, how much choices can affect your future, how there are consequences to actions. This writer is incredibly talented with descriptions and they really make you feel for the characters when they’re describing feelings, I highly recommend giving this book a shot!

One More Chance is a story of a man seeking redemption and forgiveness as he tries to rebuild his fractured family after a life-altering mistake. Seems simple enough, but there’s an added layer of time travel – Levi only has this second chance with his wife, Sloane, because he died and suddenly woke up 12 years in the past.

This book had a really interesting premise and did a good job portraying redemption with raw, emotional depth, and I appreciated the focus on healing and second chances. That said, it definitely needs A LOTTT of editing — there were tons of spelling and grammar issues, the daughter, Violet, was referred to as April three different times throughout the book, the wife was also referred to by the wrong name once, and some sentences/paragraphs were repeated with slightly different wording.

The storyline was far-fetched, the amount of people who were time travelers/reborn after death felt kind of excessive, especially considering the book doesn’t seem to be marketed as heavy on paranormal activity. On top of that, the worldwide virus subplot (aka covid) was overly dramatic and didn’t really add much at all to the story. Still, it held my interest enough that I had to see how it ended because I just don’t have it in me to DNF a book. With a solid edit and a bit more focus, this could have been a much stronger book.

Thank you NetGalley and Posh Pangolin Publishers for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Written with a lot of angst and emotion. At times I felt like I had jumped into the second or third book of a series as the character reacts to being plopped into a past lived life and it took me a minute to get acclimated. There’s some dark and intense themes and I can’t stress enough the emotions that I felt in the writing.

One More Chance by Reno R. Mist is a gripping blend of redemption, time travel, and thriller that delivers far more than expected. From the first chapter, the story hooks you in with its emotional depth and intriguing premise. At its heart, this is a novel about second chances—how far someone might go to undo the past and find peace with their choices.

The character development of Levi is one of the book’s standout strengths. Each major player in the story evolves in a way that feels authentic and earned, with emotional arcs that keep you rooting for them even when their pasts seem unforgivable.
As the plot unfolds, layers of tension build steadily, leading to a twist ending that truly surprised me. I didn’t see it coming.

While there are a few spelling and grammatical errors throughout, they don’t significantly detract from the overall experience. The narrative voice is compelling, the pacing strong, and the time-travel elements are handled with clarity and creativity.

If you’re a fan of thrillers with a heart, stories of redemption, or time-bending narratives, One More Chance is worth your time. A flawed but captivating read that I’d definitely recommend.

I had to tap out.

Dark romance lovers I think will love this one. It was a bit too intense for me.

The cover is so gorgeous.

I’ll likely try to pick this one up again at a later date but for now I need to find a slightly lighter book. The immediate vomit scene was too much for me.

Thank you for the opportunity to sample this eARC. I appreciate the opportunity to leave honest feedback voluntarily.
