I have enjoyed my first taste of Michele Dunaway’s the Man of The Month Series; Fan the Flames I enjoyed Brad and Scarlett’s story so much I bought the other books in the series.

Brad once a Navy seal and now a trained fireman, finds his dead best friends request of taking care of his wife the hardest mission he has ever had to do. Can Brad do what Tod ask of him and deliver Tod’s final words to Scarlett? One thing is for sure Brad already knew without a doubt that his heart was already invested. Now all he had to do is pick up the pieces.

Scarlett Tod’s widow returns to her home town in St. Louis determined to get her and her daughter’s lives back on track after losing her husband 2 years ago. Scarlett is a strong-willed heroine with a kind heart, but she is no one’s fool.

Things heat up between Brad and Scarlett. Both have a few ghosts from the past to contend with, along with some inner battles. When love and family are the end results can that be enough to heal? Colleen Scarlett’s daughter is a true sweetheart with a quick wit.

The plot flows smoothly for a heart touching quick read, with endless emotional moments between main and supporting character’s. Ms.Dunaway captured what a military family goes through with each step flawlessly. I as the reader connected easily with all the characters from beginning to end.
