I had never heard of Rachel Crothers before reading this book, and what an interesting meeting it was. It was a nice way to get introduced to her reading this book, I think.

Easy to follow along as the book goes chronologically through Crothers life.

John Bassett takes us on a spellbinding journey of Crothers' professional and personal life.
We learn how her interesting upbringing and creative genius paved the way for other women in theatre and society, and how she empowered women through her work.
The structure and the tone were great fits for this book.
I have not read any books on Crothers', however thanks to how her work was at the core of this book, I believe it is one of the most comprehensive ones on Crothers'.
