As someone who is going through grief right now, this book was a beacon of hope for me. Melissa Hull lived through the heartbreaking loss of her four year old son, something that feels incomprehensible to most of us. And still, she writes of how to move forward and honor your loved one.

Dear Drew is a wonderful resource for anyone dealing with grief and wants to begin the healing process. Melissa Hull believes that healing is a choice and her book provides the reader with helpful tools she has built from her own personal experiences dealing with trauma and grief. Each chapter begins with a heartfelt note to her son Drew followed by personal stories and an action to put into practice. She has spent decades learning how to let go of guilt and sorrow associated with grief and growing into the person she is today. She has so much compassion and knowledge to share with those seeking to move forward.

"Dear Drew" stands as a guiding light for those contending with loss, offering not merely temporary relief but a pathway to enduring transformation. Grief is not merely an endpoint; rather, it can serve as a catalyst for healing. In "Dear Drew: Creating a Life Bigger Than Grief," Melissa Hull offers a compelling and transformative framework that underscores the notion that healing is a deliberate choice requiring active participation and effort. Hull's personal narrative, stemming from the tragic loss of her four-year-old son in a drowning incident, initially immersed her in a cycle of guilt and despair. Nevertheless, through her journey, she came to recognize the necessity of taking an active role in one's healing process to progress. Hull’s sincere examination of grief unveils hidden blessings and provides a spiritual perspective that transcends pain. As you engage with the book’s foundational concepts and principles, you are encouraged to embrace emotions and take proactive measures towards healing, ultimately leading to a life that is richer and more meaningful.
