I really wanted to like this one and kept on reading waiting for something to click but I gave up at 50%. It had a fun vibe in the beginning but it quickly died off. I liked the premise but felt it wasn't executed well. I wasn't connecting to the characters and didn't feel invested. I didn't find Callie very likable and didn't seem like a strong heroine. Ultimately it fell short for me.

I have to admit to the cover being what led me to this book. It is my first book by this author, and I had been wanting to try one of hers. I didn't read the synopsis before starting it, and I was a little worried when I saw that the premise was all about moonshine. That didn't sound very appealing, but I did enjoy the story quite a bit.

Callie Tucker and Brett Sawyer were both great characters, so they are what made me enjoy a book whose premise didn't wow me. I liked the interaction and the relationship that developed between the two of them.

I definitely like the characters and the romance better than the storyline, but even so, I'll continue the series.
