I had to jump ahead in the series to read this one from where I’m at but this was still a great read! Always good to see the operators of Ember tackle the next biggest threat. It’s also neat to see authors like Andrews and Wilson put set their thrillers in the midst of a near peer conflict. Hats off to these gents for another great ride!!

I think the publishers should allow me to edit as I read a pre-published copy as there were many errors in the copy I read. It didn't harm the story, but it did slow the flow. This is not a complaint, just $10.00 worth of my two cents. Thank you for the opportunity to read this excellent book.

Let me start by thanking NetGalley for granting access to this book. As Andrews/Wilson has never disappointed, I wanted read this book, not knowing that it is part of the Tier One series (#9), which is on my list, but I have not started yet. That said, incredible story, right up there with the techno novel masters. I had recently read Act of Defiance, which took place in a similar setting and had a similar plot. That not withstanding, reading The Adversary, convinced me to move Tier One up on my list of to read. While I don't like giving up plots (I leave that to the publishers), I will tell you that secret US special forces goes to China to rescue on of their own that was kidnapped by the Chinese. beyond that, all I can say is Hooyah!.

This series is amazing and now also heartbreaking. So much connection to the characters and when it all comes together in this book it is both epic and hard to read. Cannot wait to read the next chapter and see how this his story all evolves. Bravo, excellent book.

In the wake of the assassination of an American president in New Delhi the new administration is led by former Nay SEAL Karvis Kelso who is looking for answers to who did this and why. Task force Ember is sent to Taiwan to gather info on the Chicoms and find themselves with a badly injured operator and another operator kidnapped from his surveillance van at gun point.
Ember is sent in with members of Seal Team 4 and SF guys from the ROC.
Everyone has their demons to contend with while they try to rescue their comrade in arms.
Will they be able to complete their mission or will they suffer another horrible loss?

Thrilling read by Andrews and Wilson.
Jack Dempsey, leader of Ember, an "off the books" special government ops force, and a man
who was officially declared dead years before on a gone wrong mission and reborn with his
present identity and team, is assigned to lead a rescue mission in Taiwan, when one of their team is captured during an op. Complicating the mission is the appearance of Jack's newly graduated SEAL son, Jack, who has believed his dad dead since he was a young boy.
Great suspense, non stop action and terrific character definitions.
Just a straight on 5 star read from start to finish.

Another great read in the Dempsey series. It feels like an old Clancy books with lots of action but still good plot development. The story follow Ember in Taiwan trying meet an asset that goes wrong. Dempsey's son becomes a SEAL and of course they cross paths in a rescue attempt of an Ember member..

Continue to enjoy reading the series and look forward to the next books. The authors as always do a great job with the story.
