This graphic novel has beautiful art! You can tell this is a wattage story but that's not a bad thing! The story itself is pretty sweet and sets up a lot of potential for the rest of it. This feels like an opposites attract forced prox vibe. There is already emotional groundwork laid for future drama and growth. There's a lot more room to learn about these characters and their back stories and I'm hopeful in the next installment it dives deeper into who they are beyond what we have briefly seen. Over all very cute, quick read!
Thanks so much to Net Galley, Publisher and the Author for an ARC of this I am leaving my review voluntarily with my honest opinion.

So I read Chasing Red back when the paperback novels first released and I knew I had to jump on the opportunity to read the Webtoon comic. I didn’t recall much from when I read it to now but slowly scenes came back to me as I was reading. Y’all I had such a great time reading this too. Reading this story in the medium was so great like I hope you guys will pick it up when it releases (or now on the Webtoon app).

When the "rice boy" sets his eyes on a girl who's down on her luck, things take an unexpected turn. After finding her passed out drunk outside the club where they meet, he decides to help by bringing her back to his place. What starts as a random encounter quickly turns into a strange but endearing living arrangement—she cooks for him, and in return, she gets a roof over her head. Their chemistry is chaotic in the best way—full of playful tension, like they love and hate each other all at once. I can’t wait to read more and see how their relationship develops!

This was a really fun, quick rom read! The artwork was beautiful and I ate up the sassy chemistry between Veronica and Caleb. All I can really say is I want MORE!
Absolutely read Chasing Red if you love sports romances, forced proximity, independent/stubborn protagonists, and angsty tension!

“One red dress. One bad decision. Or maybe... the best one?”
This graphic novel adaptation of Isabelle Ronin’s Chasing Red is steamy, dramatic, and seriously addictive. Veronica Strafford is ambitious and guarded; Caleb Lockhart is the golden boy basketball star with charm to spare. On paper, they’re total opposites, but the chemistry? Immediate and electric.
The art style brings their slow-burn tension and emotional backstories to life, balancing flirty banter with moments of real vulnerability. I especially loved how the panels captured Veronica’s strength and hesitation, she’s not your typical romance heroine, and it shows.
While the pacing in a few scences felt slightly rushed (likely due to condensing information into one volume), the emotional beats still hit hard. Caleb might be your typical “player,” but the story gives him surprising depth, which made me root for them both.
Fans of sports romance, forced proximity, and love stories with just the right dose of angst will fly through this volume, and want the next one immediately.

Thank you to NetGalley and Webtoon/Wattpad Book Group for the e-arc!
I didn't know what to expect with this story as I am not a fan of this series when it was on Wattpad but I was surprised with how much I liked it. It reminded me of a lot of the stories I enjoyed as a teen. This story is not perfect but I think so far it has depicted a semi normal relationship. Some things felt a bit unbelievable but the rest made sense. I also like the male lead a lot despite his player ways he seems to really care about the female lead and her well being. I will be checking out the next volume for sure!

I absolutely couldn't get enough. I finished this so quickly, but I'm also eagerly waiting for the next volume to be ready. I love the twists and turns, along with the romantic conflicts.

I loved the artwork, and the story line of this story. I like the tension that has developed between the characters. Anxiously awaiting to read more of the story.

loved this! thank you to netgalley for giving me access to this arc! i didnt know much going into this but i was happy with the result. from the beginning i was hooked. the plot was interesting and the art style was pleasing. i began to love the characters and their story, including the side characters. the tropes were also done well. i didn’t know this was illustrated from a romance book but now im curious about reading it. the ending left me hanging so im dying for vol.2. totally recommend this when it comes out in september!

Arc Review
Great start to a new series. Veronica is a culinary student at the local college, where Caleb is the star basketball player. While Caleb is rich and always in the spotlight, Veronica is keeping her head down and working hard just to avoid being evicted. Their relationship gets off to a rocky start, but humor and hijinks make for a very entertaining read.
This first volume only hints at emotional trauma and future struggles, mainly setting up the characters and the initial roommate scenario. It also introduces a good side cast and could lead to a found family for both main characters.
The art style is what initially drew me to this book and it stays beautiful throughout. While I appreciate the medium of the scrolling web comic, I love to see this in the traditional full page format for volume 1.
Highly recommend and can't wait to see where volume 2 goes!

Review: 4 stars
Chasing Red features feisty and independent Veronica who was evicted from her apartment. After an unlikely chance encounter with Caleb Lockhart, the popular basketball player in her school, he offers her a place to stay in exchange for her cooking services. Can they fight their attraction for each other?
I do like the art style here, the emotions are on point and pretty expressive driving the story, the color red is littered throughout which makes it a fun play to the title.
I do find the interactions riff with miscommunications where they always make assumptions off each other and it would be nice to see them talk to each other properly for once and to resolve things.
Overall, I did enjoy the read and look forward to the next one.

I don't know that this was necessarily intended for me, which is why I'm giving it 3 stars.
I loved the art style, it was a really cute read, but it was also a little immature in ways, and the ridiculous way these two meet kinda threw me off. I definitely think it is more YA, and that audience would love it more than I did.

This was a cute palette cleanser.
Nice short read. I haven’t read a graphic novel in awhile so this was a nice intro back.
The main plot is two college students both dealing with there own personal and family issues met and become roommates in the most unique to fiction circumstances lol.
This was a good read. Only 4 star because why did you end the book like that 🤣😂.
Thank you to NetGalley and webtoon

I found the story to be quite interesting and compelling. The relationship between Caleb and Veronica felt very real. Their slowly growing bond and attraction feels sweet, real, and worth it. The trials and errors they face while trying to overcome their own traumas also lends this story to feel grounded and authentic without being melodramatic. The art style and color saturation is beautiful and lends an added emotional layer during tense, romantic, or light hearted scenes.

This was my first graphic novel, and it didn’t disappoint. The artwork was great and the story was fun. I’m exited to see the development of the story in the second volume.
Thank you to Wattpad Webtoon Book Group and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC.

I started reading this on Webtoon when it first came out. I ended up having to delete the app due to having my first baby and had no time to read. Now that I'm getting back into reading it was great having the opportunity to read Chasing Red again through NetGalley. I love this story and love where it's going. I hope I get the chance to read more of it soon!

So man’s here decides to let a girl who he thought was going to be a one night stand, but they never ended up hooking up, move in with him while knowing absolutely NOTHING about her except that she could cook? They’re roommates, but more like she pays for the room with being his personal chef. Did I cover it? Yes! Okay!
Getting over the fact that I find it very unlikely that this scenario would ever happen in this day and age, the story itself is really cute. You find yourself rooting for this homeless college student who’s down on her luck. Do I want her to move in with a relative STRANGER? No! That’s weird. But he’s hot, so there is that. But haven’t you heard of stranger danger? You could get… hurt.
Beyond that I am really interested to see how it continues.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an early eARC.

I really enjoyed this one!
Following Veronica who is down on her luck. She’s working dead end jobs trying to make ends meet, but gets kicked out of her apartment. She decides to treat herself to a night out since she’s got nothing left. While out she runs into Caleb, star basketball player and heartthrob at her college. He brings her back to his place to sleep on the night and offers her a place to stay in exchange for being his cook. With really nothing else left to lose she agrees and maybe some feelings get involved from there.
I didn’t realize this was a book adaptation and am very curious now. I might go pick it up.

Oh how I’ve MISSED Kara and Veronica. Their friendship is just so good. The awkward flirting and tension and uncertainty between Veronica and Caleb pull me in every time. Illustrator SilentMaru brought these amazing characters to life. Their art is just top notch and I always love every second of it. I loved reading this series as a webcomic and I’m thrilled to re-read it as an official graphic novel!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

She’s broke. He’s rich—with a penthouse. Our two main characters meet (well… collide) over spilled champagne and somehow end up as roommates... with rules. 👀
Veronica Strafford is a fiery culinary student just trying to survive after getting evicted from her apartment.
Caleb Lockhart is the university’s star basketball player who can’t cook to save his life.
One chaotic night, one unforgettable red dress, and one pot pie later—they strike a deal:
👩🍳 She cooks.
🏀 He gives her a place to stay.
If you like messy beginnings, opposites attract, humor, and slow-burn chaos wrapped in gorgeous art—this graphic novel is for you. The illustrations are vibrant and emotionally charged—the characters’ facial expressions and body language practically jump off the page.
Volume 1 sets the stage, I can’t wait for Volume 2.
Big thanks to the WEBTOON and NetGalley for introducing me to this gem!
