The amount of screaming I did over how PERFECT Veronica is as a feisty FMC!!! Veronica aka Red, is an aspiring chef. But she’s so antisocial and focused on her education, she’s not really noticed by other people (hello perfect attendance!). And I love this trope for her because as soon as she connects with the sensitive cinnamon roll basketball player, everyone starts noticing her and I am living for it. He not only is a hottie with money (and mommy issues?!?! Definitely daddy issues) who not only houses her, but also helps her by allowing her to pay for it by being his live in chef.
The cliffhanger had me dying and I definitely can’t wait for the next book in the series.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC. The above is my honest opinion.

thank you jet galley for the arc !! i wanna start off by saying that ive been a fan of the series and im so excited its getting picked up by a publisher and turned into a graphic novel !! i love the webtoon and i cant wait to keep rereading this series 🫶🏽

New Adult Modern romance in graphic novel form. This is your typical rich Jerk jock trope meets down on luck traumatized girl. The duo has that cute college romance feel. The full color drew me first, and I enjoyed the details and eye-catching scenes. However, the artistic style of the characters can be a little off. It’s a strange mash of cheesy anime (example: ridiculous abs) and a more serious web cartoon. Occasionally, the mix pulled me in different directions, making me laugh or pulling me out of the story.
Overall, it is a fun and quick read, but I'm not sure I’d care to continue the series.
3.2/5 stars (PG-13 for more adult themes, but no spice)
ARC sponsored through NetGalley for an honest review.

Thank you, Netgalley, the author, Wattpad Webtoon book group for the gifted e-book! ❤️ #gifted. My review is comprised of my honest thoughts.
Read this book if you like: Opposites attract, adaptation, rich mmc, sports, steamy
I loved this comic so much. I will be looking for the book it was adapted from. The tension, the banter, the character building, ugh so good. I highly recommend this!

“Chasing Red” by Isabelle Ronin isn’t just a love story—it’s a full-body experience.
Whether you’re reading the novel or diving into the beautifully illustrated Webtoon, this story pulls you in and refuses to let go.
I first read this story on Wattpad, and now years later—with a pancake tattoo on my hip—I can say Chasing Red quite literally became a part of me. Red and Caleb weren’t just characters to me. They were something I felt. When I was younger, reading about Veronica—independent, fierce, vulnerable yet so self-assured—made me realize who I wanted to become. And Caleb? Don’t even get me started. Smooth, golden-boy basketball star with the heart of a romantic—he was impossible not to fall for.
The book version is emotional, intense, and full of tension that simmers for pages before it ever boils over. Caleb and Red’s dynamic is electric—him being hopelessly drawn to her, and her trying to protect herself after being hurt too many times. There’s push and pull, emotional messiness, trust issues, and passionate love.
It’s one of those stories where the tropes we love (forced proximity, bad boy/good girl, emotionally guarded heroine) feel personal and fresh because the characters are written with so much heart. Yes, the drama is there. Yes, some side characters will make you want to scream. But that’s part of the ride—and I loved it for everything it gave me.
The Webtoon adaptation of Chasing Red is stunning. The artwork brings this story to life in the most beautiful way possible. Every glance, every smirk, every vulnerable moment between Red and Caleb is rendered so emotionally, it feels like you’re watching their story unfold in real-time.
The colors are soft and rich, the facial expressions are incredibly detailed, and the pacing of the panels builds the romantic tension so well. The scenes we loved in the book—like their kitchen conversations, Red’s moments of doubt, Caleb’s soft protectiveness—hit even harder when you see them drawn.
Honestly, the artist deserves all the praise. From Veronica’s bold red outfits to the gentle intimacy of the quiet moments—they captured the essence of the characters perfectly. It feels like reading the book all over again, but with a whole new emotional layer added.

This was a quick and funny manga about 2 college students finding love. The captain of the basketball team, Caleb, takes in a stray because he falls for Veronica first and even hires her as his personal chef. Caleb's character gave total LAD coded energy and Veronica never once accepted his crap. Their banter was hilarious and full of spark.
Kara, her co worker, was absolutely unhinged and funny AF 😂 but still a good friend. Caleb is clearly protective of Veronica and so obsessed that he cannot get her out of his head. I am already looking forward to Vol 2.
This is my honest opinion of the ARC I received. Thank you author and NetGalley for the opportunity.

This was such an easy, immersive read. The full-color artwork is gorgeous, and the story pulled me in more than I expected. I didn’t plan to finish it in one sitting, but I blinked and suddenly I was at the last page.
It’s a fun, emotionally layered story about two college students who find each other just when they need it most. He’s the campus golden boy who seems to have it all. She’s strong, independent, and living life on her own terms. Both are dealing with messy family situations, and I’m really curious to see how it all unfolds in Volume 2.
I’m giving it three stars, not because there’s anything wrong with the story or the art (both are solid!), but just because I’m a vibes-based reader. I enjoyed it, but I don’t think it’s one I’ll come back to over and over again. Still, I’m glad I read it and am looking forward to continuing with this story.
Big thanks to NetGalley, Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group | WEBTOON Unscrolled, and Isabelle Ronin for the chance to read this ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts!

Thank you WEBTOON Unscrolled & Netgalley for the ARC.
I really enjoyed reading this. The chemistry and banter jumped off the page. I'm curious how their relationship will progress and if public scrutiny will pump the breaks on their relationship or if Caleb will break down Veronica's walls.
The artwork was beautiful & I liked the style.

Chasing Red was a cute read. I loved the art style! It was a great mix of anime and manga style art that really engages the reader and does a great job communicating emotion. I liked the characters but did find the story a little hard to follow. I was never really clear on what was happening and why it has happening but again it was an enjoyable read

Content/Trigger Warnings: Domestic violence (recounted), trauma/PTSD, financial hardship, homelessness, toxic paternal relationships
I absolutely enjoyed my time reading this graphic novel! I really loved the way the two main characters get brought together and it's really enjoyable to see the different backgrounds for both characters. I'm eager to see how each main character will work through the challenges they're both currently facing. I will say, the way this graphic novel ended it has me eager for more and I'll be on Webtoons waiting for the next episode to upload!

Right off the bat I loved every second on this part of their story! Caleb is a star basketball player and the captain of his team who comes from a privileged family. He is sweet, caring, kind and thoughtful. I love how much he wants to care for her right from the start! My heart literally melted. Veronica has had to work her whole life just to make ends meet and had been taking care of herself as long as she can remember. She is hardworking, kind, sweet, and caring.
They have very different backgrounds but I loved the chemistry between the characters and their interactions. Over the course of this volume we see how quickly and deeply they care for one another. I can't wait to see what happens next!
The artwork in this graphic novel is unreal! I always thought this style of artwork is so beautiful. I found myself staring at the pages looking over all of the details!
Thank you Isabelle Ronin, and WEBTOON Unscrolled for the gifted copy!

So this was a fun graphic novel adaption of a romance book. I liked it! The art work was really beautiful and the expressions and emotions really stood out. The story was choppy in parts but I will definitely be checking out future volumes.

Caleb is privileged and seems to have everything going for him. Veronica is working hard to achieve everything she can on her own. One fateful night, their paths cross and they find themselves roommates. Will their uneasy cohabitation turn into friendship or something more?
I enjoyed this graphic novel. I liked the art style. The story was also easy to follow. I didn’t feel very connected to any of the characters. It felt like this first bit of the story was trying to introduce too many plotlines at once. It made it hard to focus on any one thing. My favorite part was Veronica and Kara’s budding friendship. I’m interested to see where the story goes in the next volume. I recommend this graphic novel if you’re looking for a quick and easy read.

You know, I think I fall out of the intended age-range for this one. The two leads, Caleb and Veronica are college-aged and usually that phase me. But for this title, I felt like I was revisiting a lot of teen movie and YA kdrama tropes that I've since gotten tired of. The art style was nice, but also not my cup of tea. I don't think I'd continue this, but I can see it being a hit for a young adult audience who is a newer reader of this genre.

A possible meet cute coming of age story. That is, if in a future volume, Caleb, rich basketball star, can get over his arrogance. AND if Veronica, pessimistic talented chef, can stop second-guessing good intentions.
Hopeful volume 2 will turn up the pace and spice.

Thank you Wattpad Webtoon for allowing me to read and review Chasing Red Vol. 1! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A glimpse inside:
opposites attract
sports romance
college setting
slow-burn tension
Chasing Red Vol. 1 is a good start to the coming-of-age story based on the novel by Isabelle Ronin. I do like the art style, it's similar to styles I've seen before on Webtoon. Veronica is an inspired chef and Caleb is the basketball heartthrob. They meet by chance when Veronica is forced to move out of her home and he helps her by offering her a place to stay under the stipulation that she be his at-home chef. The slow-burn tension between Veronica and Caleb is super good. There's a will-they-won't-they anticipation as the volume tells their story. Caleb is under a lot of pressure by his parents and the school to get high grades in order to stay on the basketball team. Veronica wants to be a chef and begins working at a restaurant as a waitress, while also taking care of Caleb's meals through-out the day. Veronica keeps a secret from Caleb, that they go to the same school and she doesn't want to be part of his spotlight.
I really liked their dynamic and the possibility of something more coming from them living together. I'm very happy this is a slow-burn and not an instant love. There's definitely an attraction and I'm looking forward to seeing where their relationship will go from here. There are two novels, that I am aware of, that need to be covered so there should be a few volumes coming soon. I may pick up the novel version of the story later.
I think the only negative I have at the moment is the story itself is okay. I mean, it is the first volume so you can't really judge it too much when there is more to come. I have a feeling once more volumes come out the story will be a lot more interesting and give more depth to Veronica and Caleb.
3.5 stars, maybe 4.

*ARC Read- Thank you Isabelle Ronin and Wattpad Publishing for sending me this ARC in exchange for an honest review!
This Manga was a fun time. I like the MC’s and how the plot ran smoothly, it was a good roommates to friends but not quite lovers trope!
I would definitely give Vol. 2 a shot so I can find out what happens next with Veronica and Caleb!
Glows:
1. The art was beautiful, it captured the story perfectly!
2. Good build up and plot!
Grows:
1.The ending of this volume fell flat but not in a never read it again but more in a I wanted more way!
2. The story jumped sometimes without finishing a line which left me hanging in some areas.
All in all I had fun reading this and will definitely be reading volume 2 when it comes out!
Rating:3.75⭐️

TW: homelessness, domestic violence, childhood trauma

Thank you WEBTOON Unscrolled for the drc via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This was an okay read for me. I thought it would be a little more romantic/soft based on the cover --which I think might be a better fit for later volumes since they really just meet each other and she reluctantly accepts his offer of a free room in exchange for being his personal chef in this one. And then they spend a lot of time arguing or avoiding each other. I liked the art throughout, though I did expect the red dress to look more red since it's the reason for her nickname. The pacing felt a little off with things moving very quickly at some points but overall I liked it and would continue with the story.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this advanced e-copy.
I hadn't picked this one up on WebToon and I'm kind of glad I didn't. There wasn't anything wrong with this story so far. But there also wasn't anything outstanding either. Both seem to be cookie-cutter characters without any original histories or characteristics. It was just...fine. I don't think I'm invested enough to continue on.

I loved this one!!!!
The art is fun. Tension is building. I liked the character depth in this one and how it is developing. I'm loving both mains and the side characters and definitely looking forward to more in this graphic series!
