Starting off with what I did love about this book, I loved getting to see Lore’s growth as a character. I feel like she really deeply shows empathy in a beautiful way even if there’s a lil vengeance sprinkled in.
My biggest issue though was I fought to get to the second half. The first part of the book felt sort of cyclical and slow like we were getting nowhere then all of the sudden the story happened and was over. I think there could have been a little more balance in the pacing and I truly wish there had been more stakes because once the story started to roll it felt like some of it was just so easy.

Wonderful story and world-building!
It was a slow start and the ending felt rushed, but the middle was so good.
The narrator, Marcella Cox, did such a great job.

“You shine golden in the moonlight, you thrive under the glow of stars, Lore. You are work of adoration. “
This is part 2 and the audio was phenomenal!

This book was such a good closure to the duology. I also feel like I just love a good ocean journey, so this one might be my favorite of the two. - This book continues Lore’s journey and I was excited to see what happened next in the story. I enjoyed seeing the different character dynamics develop after the betrayal in the last book. There are a few areas I wish had more depth, but overall it was good and I thought it was a nuanced closure to the duology as Lore travels to several places in order to get the book and free the humans.
Also, Analeigh throws in a Good Girl in there - swoon - lol. Love a good Good Girl moment.
Thank you NetGalley, the lovely author, Harper Voyager imprint, and Harper Audio for both the advance electronic copy and the advance audiobook. All opinions are my own.

First, let's just all take a moment to appreciate the cover art because it's absolutely stunning!
Okay, I always have a harder time explaining and/or reviewing fantasy books because I don't want to accidentally reveal any spoilers, and this book had so many twists and turns that I'll have to be careful how I write this, but I'll try!
Lore of the Tides is the high-stakes, action-packed, gritty, but also utterly romantic conclusion to this duology. In Lore of the Tides, Lore is searching for a magical book that could have devastating consequences if it gets in the wrong hands, which leads us to entirely new settings and introduces fun and unique new characters. I thought the writing was really vibrant, and made it easy to picture exactly what was happening throughout the book. There's so much that happens in this book, and I wondered a few times how everything could possibly work out, but it all came together by the end!
And, ohhhh, the drama in this book! The kind-of-but-not-quite love triangle?! After the first book, I was wondering if Asher/Syrelle's character would get a redemption arc after his betrayal, but I'm really happy with how everything worked out in book two.
Lore was always a strong, smart, and fiercely loyal character, but I liked how she really seemed to come into herself in this book... learning more about herself and her magic, and becoming even more determined to do what is right and protect the people she loves. And Finn is an absolutely swoon-worthy MMC! He never tried to overshadow Lore, and was always there to remind her how capable she was. Not to mention, he also calls her "Honey" and "good girl" 🥵 But I think my favorite scene of them together was when he braids her hair 🫠 I thought that was so sweet, and I'm a *sucker* for caretaking!
I received this book as an ALC and really enjoyed that format. The narrator's voice was warm and sounded exactly like I would've imagined Lore's voice to sound like. But regardless of how you consume your books, I definitely recommend giving this series a try!

What’s not to love about a love triangle and a quest for a grimoire? The change in setting and additional side characters made this feel like a totally fresh book, while still building off Lore of the Wilds. Some of the pacing did feel chaotic, there were definitely some lulls, and then some moments where everything happens all at once in a blink. All that said, the prose is poetic and the world building makes sense and is easy to follow. Lore truly stands on business as badass FMC, and Finn would burn the world for her.

This was a good conclusion to this duology. There are many questions left unanswered (that I would like answered because I'm just that curious), but it seems like Sbrana is leaving them unanswered so that she can expand on this world in spin-offs. Would I read those spin-offs if they came to be? Probably not... I just don't feel invested enough in this story to continue on with it.
The goals Lore and co. set out to accomplish in this installment were much clearer than the first book, so I appreciated that a lot. I liked Lore a lot more in this book too. She seemed more sure of herself and wasn't agonizing over every little thing. The magic system and world were also better developed, though I did find the magic to be a bit too convenient at times and the rules to be a little wobbly.
I had two major issues with this book. First, much like Onyx Storm, we were bombarded with so much new information that it was difficult to keep track of who was who and where they were going. Even though I listened to this in just a few days, I found myself forgetting who certain characters were just because there were so many new ones to keep track of. Second, it felt like the romance was being forced. I don't know if I really bought the connection between Lore and her romantic interests... there wasn't a lot of tension, and the only romantic interactions that stood out were the spice scenes. There's nothing wrong with spice, but if that's the only romantic tension between your characters, it doesn't feel authentic.
Would I read more from this author? Probably. Her writing is superb and you can tell that she has the potential to be a great storyteller. It's difficult to judge someone only off of their debut novel/series.

I can’t believe it took me this long to dive into this series, but once I realized Lore of the Tides was book two, I immediately grabbed Lore of the Wilds and devoured it first. And let me tell you, once I finished book one earlier today, I physically could not stop myself from diving straight into this one. That’s how addicted I was.
I read along with the audiobooks, and it made the entire experience even more magical. The narrator brought the world and characters to life in such a vivid way, I can’t recommend pairing the audio with the physical book enough.
Lore of the Tides is just as enchanting, magical, and utterly immersive as the first. It transported me to a world far from my own, lush with fae princes, ancient magic, and emotional stakes that left my heart racing. I didn’t just read this book, I lived it. And though I’m not sure if there will be a third, I’ll be first in line if there ever is.
If you’re craving a story with world-shifting magic, aching slow-burn romance, a fierce and unforgettable heroine, lost-and-found family ties, and enough fae intrigue to keep you hooked until 2 a.m., this series is your next obsession. It’s everything you’d want in a fairytale… but with an addictive, adult edge.
Seriously, if you haven’t started this series yet, you are missing out. Don’t walk, run.

Thank you Harper audio, NetGalley and the author for a elc of Lore of the tides in exchange for an honest review.
Well, just like the first book, I felt like this had a lot of plot holes and was confusing at times to follow the story. The flow was slightly better, but it just felt all over the place.
Character development felt nonexistent while listening. Characters introduced to the story were just dropped in with little to know backstory.
I just felt lost and not caring while listening to the story. I enjoyed some aspects in the first book and had hope this book might feel less YA but it still feels the same if not slightly worse.
The narration was easy to follow and clear and just overall was done well. It’s too bad the story just didn’t fit right for me as there are elements that could make this story interesting if given more depth.

Thank you to @harperaudio and netgalley for my #gifted copy!
It was so good to be back in Lore's world and this time with even more magical adventures and worlds! This time with the addition of Sirens and I loved that. I kept picturing them from the beautiful artwork on the cover! I really love the romance in these books especially this one, and the way it all plays out! Theres such a good balance of cozy core but also action that has you a little stressed. There are just these small, beautiful moments throughout the book that made me melt for this couple. A great ending for a wonderful duology. I highly recommend the audiobook, it's narrated by Marcella Cox. I love listening to the books she narrates!

I loved this book. The main characters were interesting and their story was perfectly developed. There was plenty of fantasy and world building without getting too lost in detail. The characters showed depth and development throughout the story and each had their own struggles that developed and moved the plot along. This is a great read!
The narrator did a great job. Her voice conveyed emotions and felt like the characters. Her voice acting was wonderful and the pacing was just right.

Thank you NetGalley for the Advanced Listener Copy!
This story was a fair conclusion to the Lore of the Wilds. I love the character Lore- she’s wild and real. She complains when reasonable and pulls strength from her family and friends when she needs. The overarching story about the humans being oppressed and their pathway to freedom is wrapped up in this story, though I feel like it didn’t take the forefront in the storytelling for this book.
Without spoilers- what I felt was a side quest ended up being the main focus of this book. It felt weird, like the quest for human freedoms took a back seat. And then when it was time to wrap it up, it felt rushed.
As with the last book analeigh does a good job with tastes and smells, making me feel like I actually want to eat the meals.
The romance part of this felt a little weird as well, I don’t think I clicked with the actual love interests. I think she even mentions in the book that in another lifetime she wouldn’t have had to choose and they could all live together. And I feel like that would have made it a better story for me because it felt like that was the initial plan and AS was being forced to keep them away from polyamory.
Overall it was a fine story, and the audiobook narrator’s voice was pleasant to listen to. She really did a fine job separating the characters.

This was a great ending to the Lore of the Wild duology! This book was great because it didn't drag scenes out like some other fantasy novels. It was well-paced, and we got to know the characters more, especially after how the first book ended. We find out there is a 2nd grimoire, and Lore tries to find it in this book. The revelations that were made about family, characters, etc. were jaw dropping! I love that this story cleaned up nicely, and Lore was becoming such a strong FMC while facing many harrowing events in this book.

I am such a a huge fan of this duology! Sbrana writes in a nearly lyrical way which really comes to life in the audio rendition. I enjoyed every moment of this world, story and these characters!!

The first book ended on a cliffhanger and while I had some issues with book one, I was still interested in seeing where this went.
It was a bit predictable & the romance didn’t feel fully believable. There were parts I really enjoyed, but overall this isn’t a series I would necessarily come back to. The narrator was fantastic though.

After the cliffhanger that was the first book, I was excited to have received the ALC for the sequel, but I unfortunately, it left me unsatisfied.
Firstly, I am very confused about whether this duology is considered YA or NA because the first book with Lore at 19, reads strongly as a YA novel. But in this novel, there is significantly more on-page spice and she's only a year older.
Which leads me to the 'romance' of it all. Though I applaud the portrayal of conflicting feelings for Asher, I didn't buy the romance between either Asher nor Finn. All of it was a bit unconvincing. Romance aside, I did enjoy the new setting on boat/sea where we meet sirens and a lot of interesting new creatures.
This was a bit dulled by the pacing of the book which consisted of long chapters of nothing happening then a huge thing happening within a span of a few minutes of narration. <spoiler>This is most evident at the end of the book where there was only 27 minutes left and nothing was resolved but by the end of it, everything was.</spoiler>
The writing and narration were great and though I wouldn't recommend this book specifically, I think this series as a whole is a decent debut/adventure, especially for those who want a character-driven romantasy with a simple plot line.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for the ALC. All thoughts are my own.

This was so good, it immediately picks up where book one leaves off and I absolutely loved the new characters and worlds that we got to explore. Marcella Cox does an amazing job narrating and you can feel the devastating heartbreak, and joy come through her performance. There were times the pacing felt a little rushed, but I could just be greedy wishing this was a trilogy.

I really enjoyed this book! It picks up immediately where book 1 ends and we take off from there.
We see old faces, new faces, and more in this journey with Lore. Her ultimate goal remains the same - save her people, the humans, but she still stops along the way to help others in need.
Overall I really enjoyed the characters and story here - the challenges Lore & crew face were unique and the fact that Lore struggled through the ups and the downs was refreshing to read. I was not sure there was going to be a way to forgive/like Syrelle in the end but Analeigh surprised me with how she tied all that u

What an ending to my (now) favorite duology! We pick up very soon after Lore of the Wilds ends and everyone is still reeling from the adventures in the previous book. What we get here is a tale of adventure, self-love, social justice, and romance. The new places, characters, and adversaries we meet along the way weave together to show Lore that she is not JUST a human, but a beacon of strength and magic to those around her. I will be thinking of this series for a long time.
I did listen to the audiobook version and I was very impressed with the narrator. I will seek her out in other books. She had good tone, differentiated the voices enough to know who was speaking when, and added excellent thematic elements to her storytelling.
Thank you to NetGalley and HarperAudio Adult for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

I really love the audiobook narrator on this one. The story had some really interesting parts but as a whole, it did not keep my interest. I wanted there to be better pacing. And it just felt a little bit disjoint from the first book. There was some good character development for the main character but by the end it did feel a little bit too predictable for my taste.
