4 out of 5 stars.

Thank you NetGalley and Harper Audio for providing me with an ARC of this audiobook.

A group of woman attend a yoga retreat at "The Namaste Club" (hence the name). The novel is told in various timelines - both present time and times leading up to and during the yoga retreat.

What I enjoyed about this novel:

- I liked the various points of view/stages of life/backgrounds of the characters throughout this novel. It provide a great perspective on how they each view similar situations. I particularly like how Indira breaks a lot of traditional norms.

- I loved the underlying "Sisterhood of Women" them. Despite the differences noted in my first point, these women all band together and take care of each other, whether they've known each other for years or just met during the retreat. I also love that these relationships aren't perfect. Just like in real life, you could have your ride or die best friend, get into a huge fight in front of everyone, then make up the next day.

- I love the multiple narrators for the multiple characters. Every narrator was perfectly cast and highlighted the nuances of each individual in the story, such as Barb's distinct voice and Carol Anne's strong brash attitude.

I would recommend this book to my friends and continue to read novels published by this author.

This is crazy, unhinged and so funny!

The Namaste Club in sunny Florida is a luxurious yoga retreat center for the ultra rich customer. The quirky group of guests who arrive to unwind and participate in Transcendence Week include two friends who are divorced; one who is sex starved, a gun toting and self righteous TradWife, as well as one who is taking advantage of the ‘vow of silence’ option and will be sorely challenged with all the antics happening during the week. These world weary women are led by Shakti, an Instagram influencer with a checkered past and her yoga assistant, Daniel, who sports a sexy man bun, never wears a shirt, and isn’t afraid to get up close and personal with the students to adjust their poses. There’s also a very large alligator lurking around the property and he will find a way to join in on all the fun in his own way!

This was so much fun! I giggled my way through planting flowers while listening to this book today. This crazy week at yoga retreat for these women was hilarious and thought provoking all at the same time. Elias’s previous book, Pink Glass Houses, made my list of favorites reads last year. I enjoy her writing style, her unique imagination, and her humor. Add this to your TBR if you’re looking for something ‘tongue in cheek’ to wile away a summer afternoon or take it to the beach.

The full cast audio narration was fantastic performed by Jaime Lamchick, Amanda Dolan, Soneela Nankani, Sharmila Devar, Dani Martineck, Carrington MacDuffie, and Stephan Graybill.

Thank you Netgalley, HarperAudio Adult, and the author for this ALC in exchange for my honest review. This book will be available for purchase on July 1, 2025

LOVED this book! As a previous yoga instructor, this book had me giggling constantly and missing my teaching days. Also not a Florida native, but Florida lover, so this book really spoke to me. I liked the fact that it was a multi viewpoint story that all came together markedly at the end. HIGHLY recommend for all of the yogis in your life! Greatly written and a quick read.

Elias has done it again with another sharp and humorous review of the upper class in Florida. These women need to find their inner peace and to do it they attend a yoga retreat hoping it will help them find their zen. However, The two best friends are fighting, wannabe Marjorie Taylor Greene is fighting for her husband's attention and our elder has taken a vow of silence. Oh, and the hot assistant is just a little too touchy for anybody's liking. Will this group be able to pull it together or be swamped out in the Florida heat?

Elias is able to right such funny stories featuring tropes that we see influences and celebrities engage it all the time. Viewing these out-of-touch characters in a new light makes for great entertainment and an engaging story. With the hilarious story of Pink Glass Houses and now The Namaste Club under Elias' belt I am so thrilled to see what she releases next.

I listened to this audiobook and really enjoyed the multiple narrators. I always enjoy a multiple narrator story where you can tell exactly who is talking. The narration becomes a part of the story and presentation. This book was a quick and easy listen. If you are looking for a quick beach read this would be for you.

In this story a group from diverse backgrounds come together for transcendence yoga retreat week. Throughout the story we learn what has brought each of the characters to this trip and the things they are working on for themselves. In the beginning of the story it seemed that each of the characters would have a growth ARC and learn to not judge a book by it's cover. Sadly in the end each of the characters was reduced to that stereotype. The book had unnecessary political discussions which were very heavy handed and an extreme view against all men.

Thank you Harper Audio for this ALC, all opinions are my own.

Similar to her prior novel, The Namaste Club is set in Florida. A diverse group is spending a week at a yoga retreat led by Shakti. Some know each other and some do not, but all are not what they seem. The book opens with a news brief, so we immediately know that someone has been murdered at the retreat, but we do not know who or why. Through multiple points of view, we are introduced to Indira, Jessica, Barbara, Carol Anne and Shakti as well as a few other characters. Hints are dropped along the way about who the victim is and who the culprit is. Each day at the retreat brings new information, new secrets, and lays the groundwork for the ultimate reveal of the murder victim and culprit.

Overall, a decent read with very unlikeable characters without any redeeming qualities. More drama than suspense if that matters, but still worth a read.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed Pink Glass Houses so I was excited to get the opportunity to listen to Elias’ new book. While I didn’t end up liking this one quite as much, I did think the narrators did a fantastic job..

OK, trying to describe this without spoilers: I was initially rolling my eyes a bit at the characterization, but the nice twist at the end redeemed the book in my eyes.

Thank you HarperAudio for the gifted ALC!

The bitchiness that I loved from Elias' first novel is back with a VENGEANCE in The Namaste Club. Every. Single. Character. is somehow the worst, but I ate it right up. Any book that gives me reality TV vibes is always a yes. And a full cast narration? Double yes.

It's worth noting this is definitely a witty, satirical read. If you're expecting something more along the lines of her first novel, I think you may want to manage expectations. I went in just expecting to have a good time and I did.

I will continue to read anything Elias writes! The Namaste Club pub date is July 1.

Realizing that there were 6 different POVs had me a bit concerned, at first, but Elias worked each one masterfully. They are each of them different enough to be intriguing, but they all come together to make the story work. The downfall of one of the characters is so incredible well done; I didn’t see it coming at all for the first two-thirds of the book. Actually, there are a number of twists that pop up and make sense, but still manage to surprise.

Also, I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but I could read a whole book of Carol Anne—her voice is everything satire is meant to be. I laughed out loud several times during her chapters. A close second is definitely Barbara.

The one lacking piece of the story was that Indira and Jessica never really get a solid closure scene, or at least I didn’t think they did. I think Elias made an attempt, but I would have liked more, since their relationship served as the “heart” of the story.

Oh, and #justiceforbubba

There is no character buildup in this book. The story falls flat pretty early on. It has a unique concept; a group in a yoga retreat when things go wrong. All around just wasn't engaging enough to fully finish. Love the cover though!

I just finished listening to a good audiobook. The Namaste Club by Asha Elias is available next month. Check it out.

I got an ARC for the audiobook and it was a great production with multiple narrators. The cast of characters are all messy and the multiple POVs and nonlinear timeline added to the mystery.

- Jessica is a mother of two, recently divorced after her husband cheated on her.
- Her best friend, Indira, a rich, single mother who divorced from a frozen food tycoon and runs a jewelry business
- Daniel is the young, hot teacher’s assistant that is seemingly flirting with everyone
- Barbara is a secretive heiress who is fully spiritual and looks anywhere between 38-54
- Carolyn Ann is a trad-wife with the perfect family who joins the retreat after a very public outburst
- Shakti is the young, white yoga instructor that sometimes has an Indian accent
They are all spending a week together at a yoga retreat in the middle of a swamp and joined by the on-site pet, Bubba the alligator 🐊

I think plot wise there was not a lot going on as still at the half way point, there was a lot of drama between characters and learning about them. It was a bit slow in terms of plot however the accounts of the days by different days were fun and interesting. I was gasping and laughing out loud from some of the dialogues. Like woww, the drama was crazyyyy. The characters are complex and the buildup at the climax was so intense, I couldn’t wait to finish it. I guessed the ending but it came together really well.

Thank you to NetGalley and HarperAudio Adult for the ARC in exchange for my thoughts!!

Story: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 💫
Narration: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Overall: 🌟🌟🌟🌟💫

The Namaste Club is another perfect summer popcorn thriller from Elias. The storyline is very White Lotus. It is about a group of women at a yoga retreat that goes horribly wrong.

The narration is full cast and excellent. I flew through this audiobook. It is so fun and twisty and cringy and wild. The characters may not be the most likable, but they are definitely entertaining.

Thank you Netgalley, HarperAudio Adult and Asha Elias for the advanced copy of the Audiobook. This book was so unhinged. As a Canadian, this is exactly how I imagine people from Florida.  The entire time, I kept asking myself: Am I reading fiction or non-fiction?

It was a fun, slutty and easy read! Every character had a unique and distinct personality. Carol Ann was definitely my least favourite character, for obvious reasons. I give the book a rating of 3.5/5.

The narrators were all excellent with the roles. I give the narration a 4/5

Four women attend a weeklong yoga retreat at The Namaste Club on the Florida coast. Among the women are best friends sex-positive Indira and her divorcee bestie Jessica, opinionated trad-wife Carol-Anne, and heiress Barbara who has committed to a vow of silence during her retreat. Shakti, their instructor and Daniel her apprentice have a full week of intense cleansing and healing in store…

In actuality, this group is full of big personalities, secrets, drama, and betrayal. The dynamic between these characters had me chuckling! Some of the situations they get themselves in… I had a lot of fun with this one. I listened to the audiobook and really enjoyed the narration.

The ending was powerful and gratifying, even if I didn’t like some of the characters… I recommend this book to popcorn thriller lovers.

This was book is great fun. It’s a nice wink at the ‘murder at the tropical group retreat’ trope. I loved that the characters all felt unique and believable; maybe their politics don’t match mine but none were caricatures or villains. Except for one—and that one got what was coming to ‘em (not a spoiler). Really liked the multiple narrators, they kept the pace lively and the perspectives nuanced.

A deliciously devious and witty satirical read!

Similar to Asha Elias’s debut novel, Pink Glass Houses, The Namaste Club brought a mix of trendy and toxic women with deeper issues related to honesty, loyalty, parenting, and mental health, that went beyond the superficial drama. Elias not only brought a witty and humorous dialogue, she also created an intriguing cast of characters who marveled at a dangerously diabolical yoga retreat. I loved the luxurious spa like landscape. It was ideal for the premise of this story. And the set up was glamorous. It was easy to become obsessed with these wealthy self absorbed and highly dysfunctional women as it was to become obsessed with the yoga retreat and its promise to provide its guests with a personal transformation in their week long getaway from reality.

Elias expertly wove multiple points of view and timelines while giving a glimpse of each character’s motivations and secrets. Although I initially thought I’d not like the abhorrently wealthy characters, I was surprised by how likable they became. I couldn’t help but love their unique personas. And even more, the narration was absolutely satisfying. Each character had a different narrator and each of the narrators’ voices perfectly portrayed their character’s personality. It was an enjoyable listen.

The Namaste Club vividly deconstructed the absurdities of modern wellness culture and what goes on behind closed doors at luxury spas and resorts. Overall, this was a sharply written and distinctly refreshing novel. The Namaste Club is perfect for readers that like delicious drama, quirky wealthy women, and a glamorous resort landscape.

Thanks to Net Galley and Harper Audio for the advance audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

The Namaste Club was witty and delightfully messy in lots of the right ways. The main character’s chaotic spiral into the world of wellness had me cringing, laughing, and occasionally nodding along. I enjoyed the satirical vibe, but there were moments where the plot felt a little too scattered to fully land the emotional plugs. Still, the commentary on influencer culture and self-discovery was entertaining. If you’re into satirical takes on modern wellness with a sprinkle of drama and heart, this one’s worth checking out.

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (3.5 stars)
Rated R for language, sexual content, and adult themes.

2.5 the extra 1/2 star is for the cast of narrators who did a lot with the material.

Every book isn't for every reader and this one may not have been for me because I struggled to connect and to stay focused. With that in mind, I'm going to lean toward brevity in my review. I did manage to finish this which I credit to the narrators, my stubbornness, and the book finally getting a sense of direction towards the end. I don't mind character centered novels but give me something interesting to explore before the final stretch of the book. Dullness punctuated by catty outbursts shouldn't be depended on to hold readers' attention. There wasn't anything I found awful in particular it was an overall meh experience. I kept getting sleepy while trying to listen. When I wasn't reading, I would try to think about what was happening which is something I do daily as a reader, and I would draw a blank (which never happens). I couldn't find anything intriguing to mull over. I ALWAYS find something worth turning over.
The ending does come together but it was too little too late and so neat it felt like a reach.

Please check out other reviews as I may be an outlier.
