This book 2 dropped us immediately into the action, picking up a few months after book 1 left off. It was such a quick start and hooked me right away! I kept reading after the first chapters. Full book review below.

What a great book 2 in this series! The story picks up several months after book 1 ended, and drops you into the action immediately. Kierse was the same badass thief, but this time with more magic. I loved that she learned to depend on her friends instead of always trying to do everything herself, even when it was hard for her to give up control. Graves was extra swoony in the ways he got Kierse to trust him again, and his protective nature was on full throttle, but he was also softer and more trusting of others and it made him much more likable.

The spice was stepped up a notch for this one. It still wasn’t super over the top, but it kicked off early and there were more scenes than in book 1.

One thing I really love that I haven’t seen mentioned about these books is the perfection in the way sexuality is presented as completely fluid. Almost every character is LGBTQ, and it’s totally normal and accepted without anyone batting an eye. So glad I read this one during Pride month! I wish the real world was the same way.

The audiobook narration by Stephanie Nemeth-Parker was stellar! She flawlessly moved between genders and accents for the vast array of characters and locales.

Thanks to NetGalley, Entangled Publishing, and Red Tower Books for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review! I was getting through it a bit too slowly on Kindle so I bought the audio to read along with, and I’m so glad I did.

A modern day beauty and the beast retelling with Celtic mythology?? yes please!

I received a preview of this book on Net Gallery and it had me just as hooked as the first book in the series! Kierse and Graves have such a fun dynamic in this second book and I am loving it. I mean when he says , "My Wife" **swoon** 😍😍

Just like The Wre in the Holly Library, the beginning of The Robin on the Oak Throne had me hooked. This sneak peek of the first 8 chapters has me itching to continue on with the full story. I haven't read a lot of books with the heist trope, but K.A Linde has made a fan of of me!

So happy I got this sneak preview of the book I am most excited for this year! I got to see KA Linde on tour and was excited I has this exclusive sneak peak before receiving my book. I am so excited to see where the characters go from here. Please tell me book 3 is coming soon!

Thank you for the teaser of The Robin On The Oak Throne. From the first few chapters that I read it does seem like it’s going to be better than the first book in the series but unfortunately I just don’t think this author’s writing is for me.

This was a sneak peek of the first few chapters and I’m SO EXCITED to get the rest. This story has been very entertaining, the world building between the real world and the magical one is awesome, and the characters are compelling and complicated.

It’s tough to review just a preview of a book, but I’m excited to finish this one and enjoyed the start!

These first few chapters are SOOO good! It makes me want to dive right into the rest of the book immediately.

She does a great job revisiting what happened at the end of the first book, nice little refresher on how things ended.

*Goes to download the rest of the book right now because I need to know what happens*

Very excited to read this one and the preview did not disappoint.. I enjoyed this very much and can't wait to pick it up and continue where I left off. I was hooked from page one.

Even though I haven’t read the first book in the series, I absolutely loved the world-building in this one. I’m hoping that once I go back and read book one, things will fall into place and I’ll have a deeper understanding.

I really loved how strong the FMC is—she holds her ground so well. And the MMC? He’s dark, mysterious, and a little shady… but the way he calls her *“my wife”*? Nothing beats that. The *my wife* energy has a vibe of its own—utterly unmatched.

There haven’t been many characters introduced in the first eight chapters, which actually makes me more excited to keep going and see who else shows up. This book has definitely convinced me to pick up the first one so I can dive deeper into this world where humans and monsters coexist. The setup is so intriguing, and I can’t wait to explore it further.

As I eagerly await my copy of The Robin on the Oak Throne, I gave into temptation and read this sampler. Off to an exciting start I was thrilled that Kiersten and Graves were reunited so soon, even if Kiersten wasn’t quite as happy about it! I am loving what’s happened so far with the quests for a third object to complete the spell Graves wants to do, even though he no longer has any object. The story is shaping out to be a fantastic one and I cannot wait to continue it.

I will post a full review of the whole book once I receive my copy as I am not sure how to go about reviewing a sampler. Still it was an exciting start to what I am sure will be a 5 star read!

As a longtime lover of rich, emotionally layered fantasy with a romantic undercurrent, Robin and the Oak Throne completely swept me away. I’ve only read the first 8 chapters so far, and I can already tell this book is going to own a permanent piece of my soul. The atmosphere is lush, the character dynamics are electric, and the worldbuilding is quietly powerful in all the best ways.

Our protagonist Kierse is the kind of heroine I absolutely adore: guarded, intelligent, and complex, with just enough vulnerability simmering beneath her exterior to pull you in and never let go. And then there's Graves (*swoons*) enigmatic, cerebral, and morally gray in all the ways that make my bookish heart ache. Their dynamic is a masterclass in tension and slow-burning intrigue, and I am already beyond invested.

The prose is immersive and lyrical without ever dragging. It strikes that perfect balance between evocative and readable, and the pacing kept me hooked from page one. Linde has created a world that feels alive with history and magic, but never overwhelms. Each layer is revealed with such care, making the reading experience feel both intimate and expansive.

I haven’t yet read The Wren and the Holly Library, but based on the strength of these opening chapters alone, I’ve already bumped it to the very top of my TBR. This author clearly knows how to blend fantasy, emotional nuance, and tension in a way that’s fresh and captivating.

Final Thoughts:

Robin and the Oak Throne is shaping up to be a standout fantasy of the year for me. If you're drawn to intricate character dynamics, emotionally complex leads, and immersive, magical settings, this belongs on your shelf immediately. I’m completely enamored and genuinely can’t wait to continue, and then go back and read book 1! This is exactly the kind of book that keeps me coming back to fantasy—and makes me excited to share my love of it with other readers.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the early chapters! I immediately picked up the full release and will be first in line for whatever K.A. Linde does next! <3

I have only received an 8 chapter part of this book so I am not in the position to provide a comprehensive review of the characters, plot and story aspects of this book.

However the writing is nice and I think I will emerse myself in this series during the summer months! It looks like a complex and mysterious story and I absolutely adore those ones! I cannot wait to get into it more.

THANK YOU SO MUCH K.A. Linde for this sneak peek into what is already an amazing book!!!!!! I loved this series from the very first pages and I'm so grateful that you spoiled your fans with this glimpse into the book!

Having just finished The Wren in the Holly Library, I was excited to be able to dive right into the eight chapter teaser that Entangled offered.

Kierse and Graves are right back at it with trying to steal one of the four magical artifacts he's been searching for. Of course, this was not part of Kierse's plan when she traveled to Dublin to learn about her history and ancestors, but Graves has a way with getting her to steal things for him.

I can't wait to read the whole book!

Thank you NetGalley for the free eArc sample in exchange for an honest review!

I’m so nervous about this sequel! Book One was a bit of a rollercoaster for me because I loved it, then lost interest, and then liked the ending? So now I’m curious about what happens next, but also worried I’ll hate it. I’m still very confused by the plot twist, but I do love this author’s writing style. It’s such a unique story.

Thank you NetGalley and Red Tower Books for the teaser ARC of The Robin on the Oak Throne in exchange for my honest review.

This preview of the the first 8 chapters started the sequel to Wren in The Holly Library off wonderfully and I'm excited to read the rest of the book! Everything that I enjoyed about the first book seems to be coming out even more in this sequel. Ava Reid has done an absolutely wonderful job building this world of monsters and magic for us and taking us on her amazing characters' journeys. Such a great series!

Got to read the first 8 chapters as a preview and absolutely loving this second book right so far!
One of my main issues with the first book was that things didn't make sense, weren't explained well enough. But i definitely think that she covered her tracks better this time around. (I did like the first book though I have to say, just had to turn my brain off sometimes)
Definitely will read the rest now that the book has come out!

A wonderful continuation! As always, Graves is a 10/10. The character development, tension, and plot all pull together to make a fantastic story. I cannot wait for more.
